Hi! Thanks for opening asks, I've been hoping to get your advice. I think cars are cool but I don't know much about them. I have a decent job now and may be able to afford a nice car soon. I've always loved Corvettes because of their design, but I don't actually know if they're a "good" car. Are they worth the money? Are there other cars in that price range that are worth looking into? Would you recommend buying an expensive car like that pre-owned? Thank you 💚

no worries, sorry it’s been so long since i opened them! there’s nothing more expensive than a cheap luxury car unfortunately. corvettes are cool but parts and labor can get expensive from my understanding. there’s definitely worse options and if you really want one you can learn, but depending on your budget (corvettes can range from $5k to $200k+ depending on the generation and trim level so i can’t really get an idea of how much you’re looking at without knowing which vettes you’re shopping for) but you might have a better time with a ford mustang or chevy camaro if you want some american muscle, parts for pretty much any generation of those are generally cheaper and more plentiful, and they may be a bit more reliable. the closest i can think of in terms of parallels to the like 90s-2000s corvettes would be the honda/acura nsx, but those have absolutely skyrocketed in price over the last couple years. used to be able to snag a naturally aspirated first gen for like 20k but not so much nowadays. newer gen nsxs are in the same general ballpark as new corvettes in terms of price as far as i know, maybe a bit more expensive, so if you’re looking for something new that may not be a bad choice. for new ones you could also go lexus LC or porsche cayman or even some 911s. if you’re going for like a cheaper 80s or 90s corvette though, i’d go with a gm g-body like a buick regal or oldsmobile cutlass supreme, a foxbody ford mustang, a toyota mr2, maybe a mercedes sl but repairs get real expensive with old mercedes

Haaaaa I kind of miss these from LiveJournal. I was tagged by @syntaria and I honestly love learning about everyone. I’ve followed some of you for years and I still don’t know I lot about you (respect tbh). I’m tagging for fun, but you don’t gotta do it if you aren’t feeling it.

Are you named after anyone? No! I have a really generic late 80′s/early 90′s Prairie NDN name haha. Soooo many millennials on my rez have the same name.

When was the last time you cried? Two weeks ago.

Do you have kids? Nope, but I have many bbs I love in my family.

Do you use sarcasm a lot? Sort of - I can be straight up bratty and I need to work on it (I am). Old habits die hard.

What's the first thing you notice about people? People’s voices.

What's your eye color?  Brown.

Scary movies or happy endings? Scary movies, but scary movies with happy endings are the best.

Any special talents? I am amazing at finding treasures at thrift stores. And I’m -really- good at changing out the price tags at Value Village and stealing from them hahahahaha

Where were you born? Regina, Saskatchewan BABEY. Almost in a mall.

What are your hobbies? Reading, thrifting, sewing, swimming (when I can), cooking

Do you have any pets? A black cat named Tomas and I love him very much

What sports do you play/have you played? I sadly have never sported other than ripping around the neighborhood on a bike. Was/am a sedentary nerd, and even if I wanted to when I was kid we were too poor. But I love swimming now!

How tall are you? 5′4. I’m a shorty.

Favorite subject in school? K-12? English. Uni: Gender studies.

Dream job? I sort of have it now, knock on wood. I care about it, I work with a lot of really rad harm reduction folks and it’s not too demanding of me (of course there are sad days) and it pays a living wage and is unionized.

does homophobia exist in the comic universe?

you won’t get killed for being gay (because this is my soft pastel uwu fantasy world and i do what i want!) but there are some prejudices and single people might have harsher views. the rule of thumb is that commoners do as commoners please, they can be as “eccentric” as they want but nobility is expected to marry and produce heirs.not wanting to partake in that might end up your family being very, very disappointed in you. Some commoner families can be like this too, of course.one of the key elements i wanted to write about in this story was about the whole queer subculture, how you navigate in mostly cis-straight world and how can you find your people without the help of modern technology, and also about the pain and safety of being closeted.still, despite the angst this is and will be a story full of love and people being happy!

How is book 2 the same when Harry is in Slytherin?

It’s mostly the same in that the end result is functionally the same, even if some of the in-between details are different.

The bigger issue is that book two is my least favorite of the books and it’s mostly just a struggle to get through it.

Book three obviously also has some differences, but I have figured out by far the least plot-wise of my book three and so just don’t want to write it because I’m lazy.

I say write a villain who you think is interesting and makes for a good story. Some people will like and sympathize with even the most irredeemable asshole, and if you try to make the villain sympathetic on purpose you'll just draw more criticism.

9. Are you an artist? No I am not, not in the traditional sense anyways. I’ve probably got what it takes to be a con artists though.

13. Inside or outdoors? I love both. I’ve spent so much time outdoors, more for work than leisure in recent years but it used to be reversed, that I can’t not love the outdoors. That said I also spend a ton of time inside playing video games and hanging out with friends when I can.

24. Have you ever felt like you had a “mind-meld” with someone? As in being able to complete eachothers sentences and having the same ideas for a short period of time where you can complete a task perfectly without any verbal communication, yes. It’s happened a few times but it’s definitely a rare occurrence.
