in a weird turn of events last night, i said fuck it and let go of my 4 year old thesis film from 2019! it may not be perfect but it's what I made, and i'm happy that i got to tell one of the first stories i ever had. if it doesn't speak properly, well, that just means I have plenty of opportunities to work on it and tell it again!
A hunter ventures to the woods to add to his trophy collection. After another successful hunt, he encounters a rare fawn. Little does he know he’s not the only one who’s found a new trophy.

My senior thesis film, Zermi's Paradox, is currently in production!
The film follows a little alien space cadet named Zermi, who must convince his senior officers that we—the human race, that is—are a species worth contacting. Can he do it? Find out when the film releases!
The film combines hand-drawn 2D animation, 2.5D rigging techniques, 3D animation and motion graphics, showing off all the animation know-how I've picked up while pursuing my BA. I'm overjoyed to finally put it into production, and I couldn't ask for a better team of animators, artists and designers to help me pull it off.
To help support myself and my animators as we work on this project, I've opened up a new Zermi's Paradox Backer tier on my Patreon!
Your contribution goes towards:
Providing my volunteer crew of fellow students with free meals in exchange for their work on the film (we're in college, of course, so free food goes a long way).
Submission fees for film festivals, once the film is completed.
General support for me, a starving soon-to-be college graduate.
In return, you get:
Exclusive access to behind-the-scenes photos and videos, including concept art, rough cuts of shots, and more!
(Admittedly sporadic) progress reports about the state of the film.
Your name in the "Patreon Backers" section of the credits.
Early access to the completed cut of "Zermi's Paradox" before it's made its festival rounds.
My everlasting gratitude!
We'll need all the help we can get to get the film finished before the semester ends, so please consider contributing!

So I know Indie Animation Day is only really a twitter thing, but I really really want to talk about my short film that I'm in the process of making so
Here's some progress on the short film my friend and I are making. It's called "Good Girl" and it's about Laika the space dog!
With the death of BTVAs casting call section my classmates in animation have been struggling to find voice actors for their student films. So I'm using my pool of influence and a specially made discord server to connect:
Amateur Voice Actors
Voice Actors Looking To Make Demo Reels For The Purpose Of Getting An Agent
Hobbyist Actors
Volunteer Voices
People Who Like Doing Silly Voices
With
Animation Students
If any of these describes you, join the server!
Special equipment and experience is NOT a requirement for actors.
NO PROOF OF ENROLLMENT is needed for animation students.
Actors get their name and socials in the credits of student films which, on rare occasions go viral. (Welcome To Hell was a student film made at my school. The director of the animation department actually voiced one of the protagonists.) This isn't a guarantee but even if the films don't make it big, it's something to put on a resume and shows agents you can work with a director and have the sort of voice people are looking for. While payment isn't a guarantee I am encouraging tips and at least one of my classmates mentioned wanting to pay actors for a different project. In general, the animators are students, not studios. Adjust your project budget expectations accordingly.
Animators get voices. Lots and lots of fresh voices to choose from and the opportunity to make all sorts of connections with other animators and of course actors! I can't stress enough how great it is to have a voice in your head and know exactly which friend to call to make it a reality.
So join the server!
Also it would mean the world to me if the people of tumblr would give this post a boost! The more connections the better!
