hello friends ! ive been using studyblr for a while but i have yet to make an introduction post, so here it is :>

i’ll be starting my first year of uni in the fall !

i intend on majoring in english, either creative writing or literature, i’m not sure yet

my classes for next semester are creative writing, english, literature, indigenous studies, and japanese

i speak okay french and i’m currently studying japanese, though i’ve looking into latin and korean before and would love to continue at some point

dark academia – it has taken over my entire wardrobe and overall aesthetic. my blog is part studyblr, part dark academia blog. my favourite da media includes dead poets society (#1 comfort movie), tsh, the raven cycle series, and my own da playlist :3

kpop – my ult is twice, but i love nct, bts, svt, red velvet, itzy, and ateez

reading – favourite series/books include the raven cycle, the secret history, the shadowhunter chronicles, all for the game, and red white & royal blue. maggie stiefvater’s writing is my reason for being

writing – i mostly write fic, but i hope to (at some point in my life) write an original novel ! my ao3 is here, mainly trc and hp, though there will hopefully be an abundance of hq!! fic soon (i also rec. my richard/francis post-canon fic – it’s quite good 😌)

bullet journaling ! i’ve been doing it for 3 years now

thinking about travel – i’ve been around england a few times to see family, as well as amsterdam, seattle, orlando, la, and mexico. i was going to go to paris and spain during spring break but, You Know, so i’d love to go in the future. i also want to visit japan, new york, idaho (to meet my boyfriend), germany, scotland, wales, south korea, and go to england again !

misc interests – haikyuu!! (my #1 favourite anime/manga, it makes me so emotional), remus lupin (yes i cherry pick from harry potter canon i’m a fic writer; he and sirius ARE in love and he is in my 5 top comfort characters), and english breakfast tea (my true life force)

i don’t follow enough people to have favourite blogs ㅠㅠ like/reblog this post and i’ll check u out !! or even rec your own favourite blogs ! i’m excited to get to know people – the studyblr community is so nice ㅠㅠ

i  have  a  lot  of  thoughts  surrounding  vi  calling  jinx  powder.   

i  know  it’s  wrong,  i  know  that  it’s  akin  to  her  using  a  deadname.  and  i  absolutely  agree  with  that  assessment,  and  do  not  for  a  moment  excuse  her  this  behavior.  

to  vi,  it’s  not  just  that  she  can’t  accept  jinx  for  who  she  has  become,  it’s  because  vi  is  responsible  for  who  jinx  has  become.  not  on  purpose  ---   she  would  have  never  done  anything  to  hurt  her  sister,   she  couldn’t  have  anticipated  being  taken  after  saying  something  in  the  heat  of  an  emotional  situation,  couldn’t  have  anticipated  being  separated  from  her  sister  for  so  long...   but  none  of  that  changes  that  she  did  hurt  powder,   and  it  was  that  pivotal  moment  that  began  her  transformation  into  jinx.

i  would  like  to  think  that  if  they’d  stayed  together  in  the  interim,  these  things  would  have  been  forgiven,  and  things  wouldn’t  have  turned  out  the  way  they  did.  

but  they  did  turn  out  this  way.  powder  fell  down  a  well,  and  jinx  emerged.

vi  can’t  make  peace  with  calling  her  sister  jinx  because  of  the  guilt  she  feels  for  creating  her.

POEMS AND WRITINGS FOR PEOPLE THAT ARE NEVER COMING BACK.

Eunseo looks nothing like her mother, in fact when the social worker gave her a picture of the woman she was surprised. There had to be a mix up, the wrong woman who was staring back at her in this Polaroid was not her mother.

But, Eunseo knew that. She kept quiet and thanked the social worker anyway.

Eight days later the Polaroid of the stranger and a heap of wrinkled clothes found their way into a duffle bag as Eunseo planned her great escape.

    She found a home with a friend of a friend where their mother kept her makeup in the bathroom. It was the first time Eunseo ever locked a bathroom door to put on purple rouge. The satin stain glided on her lips as she looked into the mirror. It had her smiling, tongue trapped between teeth as she made faces.A movie star, a vixin, an unknown beauty, innocence and rage- a girl who wasn't a girl. She imagined as she drew back from kissing herself in the mirror that when she got older that she would look like the woman in the Polaroid.

When years passed and all she had was a trailer to share with three other people, the Polaroid was stuck between the crevice of the wall, she would look on to the mother that was never hers as she put on wigs,clasped and stuffed her bra. Desire became a dead woman in a Polaroid.

     When Eunseo sought out validation in a form of a man, it was that of one that had her tucking her dick and powdering her face, and squeezing her feet into flashy heels. She smiled with lipstick coating her mouth when he asked her if she was seeing someone else. The smile pulled back like a trigger and shot like a gun. The spark without gun powder was sick malice that painted her chest and left a hole that would never really close. And if Eunseo had a mother instead of a Polaroid maybe she would know that.

She would know, smiling does not get people like her anywhere.

    He punches her in the face so hard she heard the clink of the fractured window underneath her head. The next ten minutes are as blurry and as desperately forgettable as they come. He says, "You're bleeding. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." "You're bleeding. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." "You're bleeding. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

She comes home blood on her blouse, two fingers slung around the straps of her platforms, she's barefoot and cold and she wants to forget.

"Eunseo, look at me... did he do this to you?" She just wants to forget.

She can't look at Bash who's sacrificed so much to take care of her- of them. Her made up family. Broken and lost but still blood.Somehow.

      She just wants to forget. Her sister holds her as she sobs an explanation  that's drowned in tears. A moan that's asking Bash not to leave crawls out of her lips. "I just want to forget." Why won't you let me? Please just forget ...

He moves out of her way she clings to his arm to stop him. 

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE- those words don't come out fast enough, they don't matter enough to stop him from leaving.      Her legs give out, palms hitting the wooden floor her sobs are useless she wants to cry out for her mother but she remembers she does not have one. Tears strain up and over her bruised lips and she can't forget. He won't let her, not this time.

      Eunseo does not have a mother, she has a Polaroid stuck between the crevices of a wall of her bed frame.

     At night when everyone is asleep the cold silver plated scissors in her fingers snip the picture in two.

in my mind I’m physically back at uni... it’s 10 a.m. and I’ve just finished my first class for the day. right now it’s a free period and I’m in the library, peacefully reading. and I’m waiting for noon to arrive so that my friends and I could go have a nice lunch at that quiet little cafeteria just behind our college building in a bit. I take in the comforting silence around me, the low humming of the air conditioning unit is quite soothing. the girl sitting in front of me continuously typing on her laptop. I go back to reading my book, looking forward to the train ride home later afternoon.

after some trimming, I’ve finally reduced my theatre and feminism essay to 6 pages. I swear I always struggle with page limits because there’s always so much to say and I could never get the limit right the first time and unconsciously exceed it. just a few more revisions before I finally submit this! so excited to call it a night lol

0714 - have your plans changed at all because of the pandemic?

yes 😔 there are a few things i usually do in the summer, and i cant do any of those. also, i’d be preparing to move for uni, but im not going to the school i wanted to until january

0715 - do you have a specific goal for this summer?

study japanese ! im taking a class in september and i want to get a base of vocab

also, read more classics. despite being a dark academia blog, i actually havent read that many, so im finally taking all of my free time to do so

0716 - do you have a lot of work to do for school or university or your job this summer?

no work, but i am preparing to start ! i would like to get a job soon but its a bit difficult right now -w-

0717 - what is the most important task that you need to complete this summer?

organize my finances + start learning to adult

0718 - what do you usually do during the summer?

my family usually goes camping quite a bit + theres a few places i’ll go (downtown, this one beach town, my friends’ houses, etc), as while as longing for academic structure to return to me 😔

turned 18 !!

decided to do the reading rush! im taking the opportunity to get through my classics list. my tbr is:

admittedly i’ve been slacking on my japanese lately – too much passive learning, not enough active ! i am hoping to change that for the last week and a half of the challenge !!!

started a few books – the cruel prince, the picture of dorian gray (audiobook)

bought a few books – if we were villains, ninth house, a gathering of shadows

started watching terrace house (+ gathered some vocab while watching) and tsurune

got my new glasses :D

started fics for bokuaka week + started writing a reverse hanahaki au

registered my courses for the fall !!! – creative writing, english, literature, indigenous studies, and japanese

hung out w my friends for one of their + my birthday (we have the same birthday 😌) + got a trans flag from one of them, bless

found out my creative writing prof is a lesbian lmao

name:  valentina  demirci  ( bio ) fc:  ayça  ayşin  turan occupation:  nurse notable  details:  devoted  mother  of  two,  she  was  wrongly  imprisoned  for  involvement  with  an  underground  group  rebelling  against  the  corporation  equinox  ( that  basically  runs  everything ).  upon  her  release,  she  feels  isolated,  like  the  man  she  loves  and  the  people  she  cares  about  don’t  trust  her.  she  turns  to  that  same  group  for  guidance,  and  a  place  to  belong.

name:  marcus  duncan  ( bio ) fc:  matt  czuchry occupation:  soldier / bodyguard notable  details:  marcus  has  been  a  military  man  since  he  was  old  enough  to  enlist.  recruited  into  equinox  during  a  tumultuous  time  of  his  life,  he  fell  under  the  wing  of  someone  who  eventually  left  the  org.  leaving  marcus  to  be  punished  for  his  association.  demoted  to  bodyguard,  he  spends  his  days  watching  over  a  girl  who  is  apparently  trouble  (  though  he’s  seen  no  sign  of  that  )
