Day 3/50
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Studied SDLC phases in my Software Engineering class, articles and pronouns in my communication skills class, and Database Architecture in my DBMS lecture.
It rained alot at the campus today. But the breeze felt soothing. I went on a walk with my roommate and had pani puri and vanilla ice-cream to treat ourselves on this mediocre day.
I also issued this beautiful book from the central library. It's called The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch, a CS professor at Carnegie Mellon University. I am loving it so far!!

9 people I want to know better
I was tagged by @slasherstudies (don’t panic if you see a lot of me in your notes in the next few days)
Last song: miss Rhode Island - Elizabeth Gerardi, I’m very excited about this new release and how excited I am for her EP
Last show: the walking dead, currently on season 3 I’m rewatching it all with my partner, if we’re talking last show I finished though it has to be heartstopper which I devoured in one sitting.
Currently watching: Killing eve season 4, I’m watching this one with my mom and I’m also watching first kill on my own
Currently reading: where the crawdads sing by delia owen (owens?), I started it today and so far it hits my sweet spot for historical fiction
Im tagging @cloudy-studying @venustudy @voyagenotes @cafeoiogy @saff-studies @huitingreads and let’s just say the whole knife gang to catch up with all of them (sorry for being away for so long), no pressure do it only if you want

The Studyblr Community Challenge
Excuse the small break there! But I'm back, and I'm going to finish up this challenge! I can't do alot of the days now because I have no idea who to tag! Maybe I'll come back to this later and complete those days.
Day 13 - Do you have an ‘aesthetic’? If yes, what is it?
I don't think I have an aesthetic yet. However, if I were to have one, I'd like a dark academic aesthetic. It looks nice and works perfectly for a studyblr account!
Day 14 - What are some of your study essentials?
Quizlet has been helping me quite a bit in my astronomy class this semester, although I have study sets for all of my classes. That class just has difficult tests. Hot spiced apple cider helps motivate me to do any college work as well. I really like Mott's if you want to get some for yourself.
Day 29 - What are three things that you are proud of?
Well, I made it to finals week! This is my first semester of college, so definitely something to be proud of! I'm also proud that I'm passing all of my classes. I currently have all A's, but at worst I'll come out with a few B's as well. Finally, I'm proud that I found ways to complete my work. The workload was a big concern of mine before the start of the semester.
Day 30 - What are three things about yourself that you love?
This one's a little more difficult. I guess I like that I'm creative. That's the only one I can think of right now.
Day 31 - What are three things that inspire you?
For studying? Libraries, especially pretty ones. They really help with studying. Pretty art and good writing pieces also inspire me to be creative.

Good morning, StudyBlrs. EXAM DAY: I woke up early today to revise some questions that might be asked in my surgery exam. I go to classes and I try to understand what the teacher is focusing on more. I always ask questions. I will let you know how it went.
I had no coffee today because I have noticed that on exam days I already have my adrenaline and energy up. So, I had a cup of tea and my banana for snack two hours after my proper breakfast. @studywith-hada made this cool study with me video and I have used it today. So cool.
TODAY: I decided to start my day with Neurophysiology. I made a three tasks list and I will be using (as usual) my Korean study tracking. Let's do this!

Studying can be a daunting task, especially when we're not feeling motivated or don't know where to start. Luckily you are on Tumblr, where the Tumblr Studyblr community lives!
A group of individuals who share their study tips, techniques, and challenges to help motivate and inspire others.
As a member of this community, I've compiled a master post of study challenges created by Studyblr bloggers. These challenges aim to help students stay on track, improve their focus, and achieve their academic goals. So you can join in and start achieving your academic potential!
>> 𝐍 𝐨 𝐭 𝐞
If you know any other challenges or you've created ones yourself and want to share them, do message me with the link to the post so I can update the list! I too will be creating some, more coding-related ones as I am a coding studyblr (codeblr) blog! That's all and hope you find a challenge you'd like to start!

Study Tip #1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How to remember stuff for a long period of time?
Firstly, you should know that our brain is very adept at forgetting things it doesn't consider necessary for its survival and it fails to understand that excelling our exams are veryyyy important for our survival.
So, what you need is revision of your subject matter over and over again, over a period of time.
How to achieve that though?
Flashcards are often used for achieving this technique but to be honest, for a very vast syllabus Flashcards get quite overwhelming. So I created REVISION SHEETS for myself. It's the same thing as flashcards but it encompasses a few other techniques that makes the vastness of the topics a little easy to control and comprehend.
I make them two ways: one is completely random, with information important to remember but from various different topics. And another is by making mindmaps.
And in both of these things, I add information in QnA format. Easy.
Step by Step guide to revision sheets:
Firstly, I'd advise you to read/understand a chapter/topic through a lecture, a youtube video or a textbook. Atleast have a basic understanding of the concepts.
Check the major headings or the major sub-topics.
Start plotting the mindmap roughly, by Sub-topics and how and where you'll put them for better understanding.
Now, when you're writing content, put it all in QnA format, especially HOW you want you remember the information.
There, done.
Just make sure to use that sheet to revision at good intervals of time.
You can, of course, make changes to this process. But this is what I've done for my revision work.

[Also, I am not sure if someone else might not have already thought of this idea. Though, I don't think such study tips have any copyright but I'm just putting out there that if it resembles something that others have used/talk about online, then it's because we both thought of the same thing. And you'll too probably to solve your study problems. So all the best, let's all work hard and find our happiness.]

The Studyblr Community Challenge
Day 11 - What is something that you have learnt from studyblr?
I can't really think of an answer of the top of my head right now.
Day 12 - How much time do you spend on studyblr per day on average?
I actually don't spend much time on studyblr, but I expect that to change with more involvement in the community.

Habits I picked up because of school that I keep up with (on my semester break)
Waking up early- I find that, with few exceptions, I wake up before 8:30am every day.
Study groups- okay I’m stretching the definition here, but I have productivity days at coffee shops with my friends, where I work on job applications, blog posts (hehe I’m writing this one from the coffee shop), or work on hobbies (mostly crochet and embroidery).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notion schedules-I used to keep weekly and daily schedules on notion to track schoolwork, but I now use them to track my work schedule and hangout dates with my friends
Always keeping lists/notebooks around- I am rarely without a notebook in arms reach. I have a notebook in my bag and by my bedside. I keep sticky notes in my apron at work so I can write things down and add them to my notebooks. I used them as a type of bullet journal but with none of the structure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I still study- I just now have full control on what I study. For example, I plan on teaching myself the Dewey decimal system soon. (And picking up some asl)
Digital art- what started as doodling in the margins of my digital notebooks has become a full-blown hobby of mine.
Visiting the library- honestly, I just find the library to be a very comforting place.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Writing book reviews- while my book reviews for my blog posts are far less structured and formal, they only exist because I got used to writing them for school.
Reading nonfiction- I found through online classes that I enjoy reading textbooks and nonfiction work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Listening to audio books- I started listening to audio books back when was both full time student and working full time because I had no time to sit down with a book. Now its my preferred way to read.
Picking up hobbies- I am always looking for my next hobby to pick up. Last year I picked up painting and crafting. I also tried out wax seals and gardening (shout out to the two plants I haven’t killed yet).
What productive habits have you picked up?
