⟡ Easy Ways to Beat Procrastination ⟡
🎯 Set a small goal: Define a specific, achievable task to start with.
⏰ Use the 2-minute rule: Commit to working on the task for just two minutes to overcome initial resistance. Go lower if need be.
🪑 Create a focused space: Organize your surroundings for a distraction-free work area.
🚫 Cut distractions: Remove or silence anything that might divert your attention.
📝 Break it into steps: Divide the task into smaller, manageable parts to make it less overwhelming.
🏁 Start with the easy part: Begin with the simplest aspect to build momentum and confidence.
🎁 Promise a reward: Plan a small treat for yourself once you complete the task.
⏲️ Set a timer: Use a timer to work in focused intervals, like 25 minutes, followed by a short break.
🌟 Visualize success: Imagine the sense of accomplishment after finishing the task.
🌄 Remember the big picture: Keep in mind the larger purpose and benefits of completing the task.
🤗 Be kind to yourself: Accept any resistance you're feeling without self-criticism.
🚀 Just start anyway: Even if you're not fully motivated, begin the task – momentum often builds as you go.

does anyone have advice for focusing on other stuff when a hyperfixation hits? cos that’s been kind of a problem for me these past few months :’)
and it’s really annoying cos i study spanish & portuguese largely bc language learning is a special interest of mine, i was literally hyperfixated on spanish for months last year before starting uni (v helpful for my A level exams in it!) so i’m used to having that passion and focus directed towards the language areas of my studies not away from them

Habits - Or how I stopped falling down the procrastination pitfall! 🍂
Turning a challenging task into a daily habit is undeniably tough, especially in the beginning. It can resemble a battle against overwhelming odds, akin to conquering a formidable opponent. However, amidst the initial struggle, there shines a promising light at the end of the tunnel. Through consistent dedication over a two-week period, it progressively transforms into a seamless and empowering routine.
Imagine having to sit down and do hard work for hours on end, followed by a long break. Doesn't it make you feel exhausted just thinking about having to repeat it all over again, after your break or possibly even the next day? Or perhaps you're tempted to skip it altogether? Well, there's a strategy to make this less intimidating. We want to put an end to skipping it, so how do we achieve that? Break the task into smaller, manageable chunks and tackle them daily. When you make this task part of your daily routine, it stops being a constant test of willpower and becomes as natural as brushing your teeth or enjoying your morning coffee. The initial struggle and discomfort fade away, replaced by a rewarding sense of accomplishment.
An apt analogy lies in the art of sculpting. Each day, you meticulously chisel away at the block of resistance, and after a while, you step back to admire the masterpiece of progress you have painstakingly fashioned.
Whether you're learning a new skill, pursuing a passion, or overcoming a long-standing challenge, tap into the power of building habits. In just two weeks, you'll see an incredible shift from struggle to success, with each day bringing you closer to your goals through steady progress.

Need Study Help please read!!!!
Hello everyone! I know I don’t have a super big (or active) following here on tumblr mostly because I mysef have been very inactive for the past year or two getting ready to graduate with my bachelors in marine bio (finished in May!) but I plan on slowly becoming more active as I have decided to get my masters in education through a program at my alma mater to teach biology.
I’m writing this super long post because before I can be admitted into the graduate program I need a passing score on the PRAXIS biology content knowledge exam. I’m looking for anyone who may be able to help me with study tips or any resources that would help me at all since I really need to pass the first time because it costs $130 and I currently am nowhere near financially stable enough to afford this multiple times nor am I eligible for a fee waiver because I am not currently enrolled.

Listening to the Age of Jackson as a Study/Break was a good call.
I’m feeling much better now, have made myself a plate of food stuff and am eating out on the balcony with the cat and some music.
My flatmate is moving out tomorrow so the flat is full of her packed stuff. It’s a weird weekend I suppose.
