Hmm... wedding dresses, I guess! Generally bridal outfits, hairstyles... This never used to be my kind of thing but I suppose it comes with the territory of planning a wedding. Recently I have had to make a lot of decisions in this regard and it can be fun to google pretty bridal hairstyles and the like. :) Apart from that... reading and writing. But those are always passions of mine.

I spent my entire school career afraid of being wrong because I was taught that to make a mistake was embarrassing. Now I’ve discovered that making a mistake just means you are one step closer to the right answer, and everyday I have to work to shake the mindset that a single wrong answer equals failure.

So a lock-down is officially in place here in London now and to be honest it was long overdue. I still have my dissertation and other essays to complete online but otherwise I’m alone and just trying to fill the time, my housemates have both gone home. One uplifting thing taking place is that my friend from home has started a writing club, she added a bunch of us to a group chat and facetimes us all at 9:30am each morning. We all then get given the same writing prompt and spend half an hour writing together. Once we’re done we take it in turns to read our pieces to each other. It’s so nice to have that little bit of interaction each day. You can see what I wrote for the ‘food’ prompt this morning. Stay safe out there lovelies! x // 24.03.20

I got accepted onto a Python Coding course that my university is running, whilst it isn't necessarily related to my MA I've always been interested in computers so I'm really excited! Plus this time round I'm really trying to push myself to learn and experience as many things as possible in the short time I have to study. I feel like I missed out on a lot of opportunities during my undergrad because I didn't push myself enough. // 22.02.21

Had such a lovely week away with my Mum, it felt nice to be the one treating her for a change. We also worked on her small business whilst we were away (she sells handmade cards). Now I'm home I'm definitely feeling refreshed and recharged ready for my job search to continue! // 28.09.20

Currently reading Forensics The Anatomy Of Crime by Val McDermid, recommended to me by a colleague at the library. Right now I have a lot of nervous energy, I'm excited for my Masters course but dreading moving two hours away from my boyfriend and the life I've built in London. Maybe once the details of my accomodation are finalised I will feel better but for now the uncertainty is weighing on me. // 24.11.20

This essay has been causing me so much anxiety that I basically refused to even think about starting it for weeks, but after talking it through with my therapist yesterday I have decided to set myself the manageable goal of trying to write five hundred words a day. This morning was a success! I finally broke through my initial writers block and managed to complete my introductory section. It's not perfect but it's a start and we all have to start somewhere. // 07.04.20
