Day two of uni, so not much studying is required of me tonight. I’ve just spent time going through my syllabi and making sure I know what needs to be submitted/studied for throughout the semester. Also made these cute little graphics for my pinboard.
It's really easy to give up on things when they're not going well, and I think it's something we should acknowledge in the studyblr community. Our community is so vibrant and supportive and full of positivity, but that doesn't mean you can't feel the bad too.
It's okay if you feel like giving up when you studied all week for your test and you flopped, when (like today for me) you worked really hard on your past paper and someone spilt food all over it 30 minutes before it's due. And to me that was just the final straw. I've been working like a dog most of the term, I'm tired, I want my holiday and that little event felt like the end of the world to me. I wanted to give up. Put my hands in the air and walk away.
And that feeling is okay. To feel like that is okay. Don't make decisions when you feel like that, don't hover around the cause when you feel like that. Step outside, move away and take a breath. Take another. Calm down and remember all situations are temporary. If you're feeling tired don't give up. Rest. Take a break, take a 2 day break, don't touch your books or you assignments until you're out of that 'I can't do this state'
I suggest
Reading some uplifting poems, sonnets, a few quotes
Watch a few episodes of a series. Watch the whole season in fact.
Read a good book
Hot chocolate is always good.
Take a nap. Don't set an alarm, wake up when you're ready.
Watch movies!
Go outside for a while
Spend time with your friends. Or your pets
Get yourself something yummy to eat, sit on your own in silence and enjoy the hell out of it.
Hello sweeties! When I went through the IB programme, sometimes I felt so overwhelmed by all the reading, work, presentations and everything we had to do. So here are my tips to help you manage your time wisely ♥
Write things down:
It can be an agenda, a board, a calendar, post it notes. ANYTHING where you write down all the things you have to do. I always recommend planners and calendars because you can check the overview of a months and keep track of dates.
Make a to-do list:
This one is just for the day. If you get overwhelmed sometimes (like me) about all the things you have to do, this will help. Youc an start with an easy task to get your momentum going, or with a difficult one to get it over with. You have to find what works for you and know your priorities.
Set aside leisure time:
You NEED relax time. you know that right? there’s nothing else worse than a burnout so set alarms every 30min or so and go do your favorite activity for a little while.
Know yourself:
What I mean by this is work at the time that you feel best at. Work in a place that you feel comfortable in. If it’s 10pm and you’re tired, don’t go to your bed and lie down to read your boring theory book.
Don’t procrastinate:
Seriously. I know this too well. Especially if you’re a perfectionist, all you’re going to do whine and cry about the work that needs to be done, but that doesn’t help. Break down your tasks and start little by little!
Keep your materials with you:
This is something that has worked for me bc some people tend to be late or class doesn’t start at the time or I’m waiting for an appointment, so if I’m bored or have a little spare time, I can read a book or handout because I have it with me!
I haven’t posted in ages! It kinda makes me sad, but I’m back now hopefully. I wish my life were a little more interesting, but I guess it’s just not. But anyway alsooo happy pride month!!!
|March 31st, 2017| Here’s some photos of my (not completely finished) bullet journal + a blog ideas post. That’ll be worked on later. I’m pretty happy with this one, unlike some others
19.3.2017 // economics and maths methods on a sunday afternoon - would prefer to be doing financial arithmetic rn bc i looove it but i have to keep up my methods for ~9 weeks so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i’m going to start my 100 days of productivity soon as well, so stay tuned
concept: me, drinking coffee in a café in a foreign country. it’s raining outside. i’m reading my favorite book. everything is okay, and i’m never stressed.
heres a short clip from today's afternoon study session :-) filming this was quite a motivation to not procrastinate since everything i did was being recorded hah
