Hi again!! I really want to go Georgetown for sfs but honestly I don’t think I have a chance. I’m an international student and I have no idea which sat subjects test to take because I didn’t learn us history or world history, and I doubt I’ll get good in eng. Which subject tests did you take if you took any? And do you mind sharing your sat scores? Also extracurriculars, I I don’t have anything politics related like mun etc. do you think it would be a problem when applying to sfs?

hey there!! sorry for the lateness of this reply lol :’) first of all I’m proud of you + excited for your interest in sfs!! it’s a rly cool school w fascinating majors. I’ll try to answer your Q’s in order!

1. I took sat subject tests in world history, us history, chemistry, and math 2! (don’t rmbr if I ended up sending the math score tho lol she was Ruff) I wouldn’t worry toooo much abt taking “the right” tests-as far as ik, you should just test in areas ur confident in, not necessarily subjects suited to ur intended major (after all, tons of ppl go in undecided) so it’s wisest to take tests right after you take a course in that subject

2. I took the sat officially only once w a score of 1540/1600, which goes to show u don’t need to perfect score lolz 😁

3. bruh you have no idea how much of a bald spot my EC’s were-i didn’t do MUN, student gov, debate, etc. 😨 which yeah, a lot of SFS students seem to have done.. my EC’s actually were much more geared towards literary arts than social studies which in retrospect I think made me feel v insecure, but I demonstrated my interest in international affairs most thru my essay responses + I enjoyed/did best in social studies classes in HS (I also got a solid teacher rec from my APUSH teacher idk how much that helped tho)

hope this helps! most importantly, never think you don’t have a chance. if there’s anything I learned from college apps, it’s that anything could happen-i was denied from schools that seemed less competitive than the ones that I got into for example. trust yourself and be confident in all your hard work. whatever happens, you WILL end up happy where you ultimately go, which is why it’s important to apply to places you rly see yourself going to. best of luck and feel free to drop another ask anytime!!!

Hi! I’m aparna, and this is my first post on my new studyblr! I made this studyblr because that is a 100% real picture of me studying last minute for literally everything, so I hope this can help guilt trip inspire me to have better study habits!

Some stuff about me:  - I’m 17, a junior in high school   - Indian-American and proud   - I take     AP Bio           AP Stat    AP Chem      Chinese 4 Honors    AP Lang        Advanced Drawing and Painting  - My interests include reading more than I have time for (sci-fi, fantasy, classic literature, nonfiction, anything really!), doodling/experimenting in my sketchbook, running a philosopy club (it’s more lit than it sounds like lol), and ofc surfing the internet while I’m supposed to be studying ^^;;  - I love electro indie/indie soft pop music! today was perhaps one of the worst days I’ve had in a while. i just got a c on my common app essay. while this isn’t actually a failing grade, i’ve conditioned myself to always expect high grades so long as i work hard, and i took this really hard, especially considering that i poured my heart into this assignment and that i’ve have never scored this low on an essay (not to mention one with incredible implications). I couldn’t help feeling utterly discouraged. 

but I need to remind myself that even the most fundamental failures-not just the easily correctable, careless mistakes-can teach me something valuable. i’ll come back stronger. 

because hard work will never fail you, even when it does.

hullo all!! (sorry for not posting in ages :( not sure when i’ll get back in the groove fr but i’ll def keep my queue active!) just wanted to pop by and wish everyone a mighty ‘mount of good luck on ur finals!! i got to exempt one and take one early and i just took apush today (brought my grade up 3 points!!) so i’ve just got ap lang tmr and calc ab+ap chem on wednesday. it’s gonna be hectic and i *may* not have been as productive as i wish, but i’m glad with how this semester played out! i didn’t get as high of a’s as i would love to get, but i’ll blame that on the stress of jr year and moving^^ all in all though, i’m supe thankful for adjusting to the new school not too terribly and for balancing studying with much more sleep and a healthy diet :) hoping to ace these last few finals and inch my grades up to par (if i get a low a on the final i might bag an a+ in ap chem!!) but as always, though we all shoot for perfection in high grades, there’s gonna be times when effort may very well betray us and that’s okay- the discipline and work ethic we experience while studying is really much more valuable than the grades, high or low. goo luck!!

wondering where you got your school supplies, they are so cute!

ahhh hi there!! first of all tysm :,) i’ll just list my favorite/most characteristic supplies~

my pencil case and mildliners are from amazon

my colored pens, gel pen, and fav pencil are from muji

my favorite erasable pens are by pilot

my notebook is by cambridge at target (personally don’t recommend bc the pages don’t stay super flat when writing)

i use avery binders from target as well!

the rest of my supplies (including the gudetama folders) are gifts from friends (i think they got them from a japanese store in the mall?) or from korea!
