17 December 2020 | The term is nearly over with only one paper left to complete! If I’m not able to recite 2 Peter 1:3-15 in Greek by the end of this, then I simply don’t know where my brain has been...

Studyblr introduction!
Tumblr media
I have grown so much in 2019. Out of the many goals I have set myself I have accomplished many, but one of the things I wanted to have by the end of 2019 was an active studyblr that brings me joy. I started working on it literally minutes after midnight on Jan 1st. And then lost sight of my plans. And now I am glad of it, because I have gone through a massive change, picked up another subject and managed to defeat my imposter syndrome.
(Former blog Stellasstudium, but that was a side-blog and I really wanted to have it as my main as it is my focus point now, so this post is the start of the transfer)
About me:
my name is Indi
I study both Philosophy and Biology
-as an undergrad at the University of Vienna (UniVie)
I am just starting out as a subject tutor in philosophy
Mia, our dog is unbelievable sweet
I am 19 and never finished school
I am queer (it feels so good to mention here)
in September I committed to being 100% vegan (at least during the winter months) I truly love vegetables.
I am an activist with XR!
definitely a feminist
I have chronic pain that can make it very tough to study. After burning out in 2018 I´ve had to make self care my priority and I´ll be sharing everything I have and will learn on that side of things.
A few years ago I struggled a lot with school, and so many of my posts will be aimed at the students, on here trying to get motivated while feeling that they are worlds away from loving university life and bibliophilia.
Interests:
(I loooove Philosophy so that really is my main interest right now.)
Others:
Nature
Art: Photography, Life Drawing, Anatomy books, Photorealism, Architecture, Film, Children's books, …
History
Genetics (I´m almost certain I´ll choose this path as my specialty in biology next year)
Neuroscience (the field I would love to go into, but can´t in Vienna)
Reading (duh): Douglas Adams, The Shelleys, Jeff Vandermeer,…
My posts:
I am going to be consistent with posting to Tumblr, although at times I might be overwhelmed with work and then mainly reblog.
I´ll tag all of my original content #mine.
Tumblr media
Post specific to Biology will be tagged #bioblr, the same goes for philosophy with #philoblr.
Original content in planning:
Series:
Lessons learned
Accomplishment posts (daily)
SOS- what you can learn from Self Organising Systems, a new method of organisation
Simple plant-based recipes
Weekly updates (progress report and how am I feeling)
Vienna 909 ( I plan on leaving my hometown after getting my degree and so this blog will also help me to really soak this city in before I leave to explore new places again)
365 days of change! -by Dottie James
Study session documentation :)
Perspectives on self-care
Philosophical question of the week
Single:
An emotional timeline
You do you! How do you do that?
Coping mechanisms
Reading tips
How to choose your area of education!
Why I´m not trying to be productive!
Photos of my dog
Asks:
I love this dialog based community you guys have created here and I want to be a part of it. So really ask me anything!

A Thousand years of Byzantium: The Succesor of Rome
This is a hetalia OC I’ve had a little over a year now and who I have somehow never made a finished piece of art for. I’ve written headcanons for about his entire life so far but- finally- here he is: Byzantium/East Rome. - Constantinus Romilius Remus (Later Konstantinous)
Was created artificially from Rome’s own flesh when on 11 may 330 emperor Constantine moved the capital of the Roman empire to Constantinopel. Afterwards he and his twin brother would sometimes still be ruled by a single emperor but a decisive turn eastwards had been made.
Even after the fall of the western empire he continued to exist for a thousand years. He is named after his first emperor, who had a tendency to name things after himself (All Constantine’s sons are called Constantius II, Constantinus II and Constans...) and his last emperor.  And he carries the epiphet ‘Remus’ the second half of the founding twins, but a name that also means ‘He who was later’. Aluding both to that Remus was born second and that his disposition was more calm than his brother Romulus. A similar thing can be said for Byzantium and Rome, his brother is a soldier and brawl and brawn. Constantine however is studyous and prefers intrigue diplomacy for settling his affairs.  He’s discovered a strong love for the culture of ancient Greece, and for her in general. They had a passionate love afair and he Grecified. However, the closer they got, the more he took on from her, the more she assimilated into him until one day she was gone and he realized he’d been her undoing... But she left him a son, one day to be modern Greece.
Feeling himself to be the proper heir for his brothers legacy his relationship with the Orphans left on the Italian peninsula is strained. In his eyes those boys are more Gothic than Roman. His relationship with Veneciano is especially strained which will in the end be the begining of his undoing which was finalized by the invading Ottoman empire. ---------- So much for a short biography- but there is SO much more. Please ask me things about him that you’d like to know I Love talking about him.

Book of Hours (The 'Beaufort/Beauchamp Hours'), Use of Sarum.  British Library, Royal 2 A. xviii
“During her lifetime, Lady Margaret Beaufort was nearly as renowned for her association with books and literary culture as she was for being Henry VII’s mother. Founder of Christ’s and St John’s Colleges at Cambridge and patron to both William Caxton and Wynkyn de Worde, Lady Margaret also became one of the first Englishwomen in print, with her translations of the fourth book of The Imitation of Christ in 1504 and the devotional Mirror of Gold for the Sinful Soul in 1506. If she represents the influence that women could wield in early English print culture, it is also around the figure of Lady Margaret that we can glimpse some of the struggle for definition which centred on female literary practice – and in particular, female patronage – at the end of the fifteenth century. In his eulogy of 1509, Bishop John Fisher repeatedly singles out Lady Margaret’s use of books as exemplary of her devout practice, noting that she was ‘right studyous... in bokes whiche she had in grete nombre’. Recalling the vernacular books of devotion with which Lady Margaret was associated, Fisher cites, in particular, ‘dyuers bokes in Frensshe wherwith she wolde occupy herselfe whan she was wery of prayer. Wherfore dyuers she dyde translate oute of Frensshe into Englysshe’. For Fisher, books form the common element between Lady Margaret’s private religious practice and her public benefactions. To the extent that Lady Margaret’s literary activity thereby participated in both masculine and feminine spheres of action, Fisher is also inspired to coin the term and praise her as ‘a veray patronesse’.”

09.01.20 • a little late, i know, but here’s my yearly/monthly spread to kick off 2020! i decided to go for a more minimal january outline this month, as i tend not to really use my big double page spreads that much even after i spend time making them look pretty! this one is pretty much a replica of one i’d spotted on here from a couple of years ago by the fantastic bullet_journalish on instagram - i loved the simplicity of the layout and how neatly it all fit together. how’s your new year going so far? ☁️

01.04.20 • today’s set up: studying from the kitchen table while my dad works (aka has zoom meetings) a couple of feet away. i’m using this time to finally get TEFL qualified and although the course is really interesting and fun, i haven’t studied since finishing my ma last summer and i’m not quite used to sitting still for so long anymore - i’m getting very achy! will have to start incorporating some stretches into my study breaks. how are you spending your time these days? ☕️ 💻 🖊
