i had a caption planned about studying in your bed when it’s raining outside, but no, henry decided he needed to sleep on my book and he also needed to eat my highlighter, and he chose to do this right as i was getting ready to take a photo. got a lot done today, though.

Not everyone’s cup of tea
What I mean here is jazz music.
I listen to Jazz Study Music on Spotify. But after watching The Big Bang Theory and a bunch of other shows that throws shade at jazz, I understand that not everyone likes it. It’s not easy to like because it’s not structured, at least that’s what Sheldon says.
But guess what? I can concentrate listening to it. Jazz music works for me while studying. I can concentrate on what I’m reading if I’m listening to a Jazz Study playlist on Spotify. Most of my most recent posts here have been about music, maybe it’s because, subconsciously, it is one of the things that helped me concentrate, and in a way, cope (aside from my loving boyfriend, of course).
Although throughout of my law-school-from-home journey, I have listened to a lot of genres to help me concentrate, from Mozart to nature sounds and what-have-you, but ironically, jazz music has proven to be the most effective. It does not make me fall asleep like straight up classical music does (which I also love, don’t get me wrong) and it does not distract me from what I’m reading. It’s the perfect music that can help me concentrate, although not a lot of people will agree with me.
And so, in a way, being able to concentrate while listening to jazz music is one of the surprising things that I discovered about myself during this pandemic. What’s yours?

april 9 - why must a thesis project make sense? is it not enough to read source material in your parents’ garden, with iced coffee, unhinged?
reading the words “mpreg” and “wincest” in academic writing gave me whiplash, to be honest, but alas, this is the price you pay for trying to write about fan studies

hey everyone, I made some #studytunes! these are a few playlists that really helped me through the school year and I wanted to share them with you.
so far I have:
• a peaceful playlist (my go-to for note taking)  • a playlist for rainy days • a playlist for study breaks • my favorite spotify-made playlist for studying • a playlist for busy bees • a (mostly) instrumental playlist
and that’s it so far! I’ll be sure to update my study tunes as I make more playlists. hope you like them! check out the #studytunes hashtag on my desktop or tracking on mobile to see other playlist posts :)

july 1, 2020 - take your time
hi hello! i’m finally back at it again. it feels weird to post normal content amidst everything that’s going on in the world, but i’m still doing what i can to stay informed and help others. i made this spread last week! i drew more doodles this time. the one on the bottom left is from the lyric video for the english version of "zombie” by day6. i also haven’t shared a playlist in a while, so here’s what i’ve been listening to lately!
how are you all doing? i hope your summer/winter is off to a good start! as always, stay safe and take care. 💕

09.17.21; 003/100 days of productivity; 4.5 hours of studying
today’s study session is brought to you by the starbucks pink drink and wildest dreams (taylor’s version). i spent all day in the library and maybe sitting in the same place the whole time was too much, because i really didn’t get as much done as i wanted. i’m trying not to be too frustrated with myself (emphasis on trying.)
