How to idealize studying
Hello magical souls,
Since the beginning of my blog, I have been writing only in Czech. However, I love British English so, I have decided to start writing in this gorgeous language.
In this article I'm focusing on ways, how you can romanticize your studying. These are tips that I personally use while I study and tried to write them down as closely as possible to original.
It's my first multi-language article, so please inform me if I wrote anything wrong. And without any further to do, let's move to the tips.
Recommended to prepare a cup of tea, before starting to read.
1. With friends
If you know someone who wouldn't distract you so much, ask them and organize a study meeting at a cafe, library, at your home or in any other productive place. It's untraditional but it can be really fun. Just remember to set some limits. You want to be productive and it sometimes can get so exciting that you don't do anything at all.
It's possible you have no one to study with, so I definitely recommend to try StudyStream, which is a website where you can enter an online study rooms through Zoom. I started using it during the spring holidays, and I found myself liking studying with people worldwide.
I think it's also a good first step for introverts to step a little from their comfort zone.
2. Music
It's so incredibly unbelievable how can music shapes us. Yes, sometimes is just better to study in quiet but I think it can make us work even harder.
Recently, I add a new method of choosing the music, according to what you read. All thanks to @studywithinspo (yt)
Basically, if you work with numbers, you can play any (no dance) music.
However, when you doing reading for a language class or working with letters, it's better to choose more calm music, like Lofi, Chill or Jazz music.
Also, think about how do you currently feeling because even wrongly chosen music can have exactly the opposite effect.
3. Rewarding system / Pomodoro method
Basically, you set a certain time for studying and then you take a break. Maybe it looks a little bit less productive but it truly makes a difference.
In my case, I am using the 1 hour x 1 hour method (sometimes 30 minutes)
4. Morning / afternoon / evening
Everyone is most productive in different amounts of time, so finding the best part of the day really helps you to do as much work as it's possible.
Don't go to the extremes, when you will not sleep for several days. It only damages you.
5. Planning and organisation
"I'm calm, knowing what my purpose is. I'm prepared and know I can do it". If you plan ahead, you have the advantage you know what you need to do. Yes, you may have don't to think about it, but it is a low price for preparation.
Planner, digital calendar, bullet journal, all of that can help you, but there is no need to use everything to get things done in peace.
6. Aesthetic
This is the easiest way, how to romanticize study. Decorate your room with candles, pictures, books, aesthetic objects or everything else (what will not distract you).
7. Reading
I love reading, but so many of my classmates don't and I think one of the major problems is, that they are forced into a genre that they don't like. So, finding your favourite style on the book field is very important.
Mine are f.e. fantasy, educational literature and modern mid-war novels.
8. „Shut up, I said to me, when my mind said it's so difficult“
More like a tip, this is a motivation for the kind of work you really hate to do. Yes, school is hard. I know that from my own experience, but just start and don't make excuses, about why you can't start. As more work you do, the calmer you will be.
Also to over workers: don't give yourself exaggerated goals and too many tasks. Make time for yourself. The essence of idealization is to enjoy studying

03.06.19 - monday
during exams i used to get really stressed out about not having enough time to study between, so i designed myself a lil study planner that maps out my week
it has a section for events, a checklist, and a time tracker so i can tell myself to stop freaking out :)

// i was walking into my room when i saw this beautiful lighting and fell in love. it's almost the end of the week, and despite being tired and with a lot to do I feel in control. during this semester, there had been weeks that I didn't have as many things to do, but I was feeling completely out of control. // #studygram #wfh #studydesk #studywithinspo #wfhdesk (em Work, Work, Work) https://www.instagram.com/p/CUdh0M-PFg9/?utm_medium=tumblr
