what’s really ironic about the “just let everyone get infected w covid!! herd immunity!!” arguments now is that letting the virus run rampant through the world has actually achieved the opposite: everyone may get infected, but then they’ll just keep getting infected. delta infections didn’t protect against the original omicron variant. omicron BA.1 doesn’t protect you against BA.2.12.1. none of them really protect you against BA.4 and BA.5. mass infection is not going to create mass immunity, it just means that with every infection you’re rolling the dice on what this unpredictable and very creative virus is going to do to you

It's funny how these folks can't decide if just "grandmas" were at risk, or anyone who didn't Covply.
Also, imagine thinking you're the good guy when you're mocking the idea of not blindly believing the government narrative, which was demonstrably wrong and inconsistent in many ways.
Heck, the left ignored lockdowns, social distancing, and other anti-COVID measures when they supported BLM.
So you’d have idiots complaining about cops who didn’t wear masks while those cops dealt with protesters and rioters...and those protesters and rioters were also maskless.

So, today I saw a few videos on the devil site known as tiktok that really pissed me off (and I'm going to yap about it).
Apparently, over on Gen Alpha tiktok (Gen Alpha is those born in 2010-now for those wondering) there's a trend going around that's literally making 2020 an aesthetic. Like, under a video where it was like "Pov: your morning routine in 2020", I saw so many comments like "I wish I was a teenager during 2020 😭". And it may just be me but that BAFFLES me. Ignoring the fact that the video was literally just a collection of tiktok trends from 2020, the comments piss me off.
When the pandemic hit, I was in High school. We were let out for an early spring break, and we all thought that we'd be back soon. Little did we know, we'd be forced to stay inside for the next 6 months because if we went outside, we may catch a disease that could kill us. That pandemic changed so many things for me (and I know I'm not alone in that), that it's so insane that it's now being romanticized. My dad went to the hospital when he caught covid (thank God it was later in the pandemic, so they had some treatments), I lost some pivotal teenage years to the pandemic, and I had a whole ass identity crisis. I am permanently different because I only had human contact with my family for half a year. Because of circumstances outside of my control, I didn't have a proper phone during 2020 (I couldn't call or text), so I was effectively cut off from my friends. I had the pandemic a lot easier than some, but I think it's fucking stupid that kids now are saying that they wished they went through that.

I think far too many people in Ireland are still susceptible to homeopathy and quackery.
Especially in light of the pandemic.
It’s deeply troubling.
I’m talking everything from hypnotherapy to placebo bullshit to homeopathy to alternative “medicine” to quack “cures”.

*BOOOOO!!!!! HYPNOTHERAPY!!!!!!!*
*MIRRORS LIE TWICE*
It’s sickening and deeply troubling.

Just because I've finished the assignment doesn't mean I don't still feel agitated and restless like I'm supposed to be doing something. But when no distraction is working it's at the point that I dig into the pandemic hobby box

Reminder that this shit is still evolving.... 😩
Wear your mask inside public places or anywhere it’s crowded, preferably an N95 or KN95.

I'm so done with this virus.
It's the forth time I get COVID. I have all the vaccines, use the mask, and other cleaning stuff and yet I get sick.
My mind melt every time, I am losing my ears, I can barely breath and is winter and don't have money.
What am I supposed to do tomorrow, go to the market and buy food?!? (because the fridge is empty)
In this hell hole of country is very expensive the food apps. I'm tired, sick, depressed, and hungry.

The coronavirus that spread across the United States and became a pandemic in March 2020 will go down as one of the most difficult times in our nation’s history. Nearly every American experienced significant disruptions to their daily lives, with financial issues and physical isolation often leaving permanent scars. It was a terrible time, and one we will never forget. Today, however, things are looking up. President Biden recently declared that Covid is no longer a national emergency. What does that mean? Well, I’ll tell you.
We are post-pandemic. We are immortal. Those still alive cannot die.
It is time to bask in the knowledge that we have defeated the feverish viral scourge. Go forth without fear, because those malevolent RNA intruders can harm you no longer. You are the chosen Americans. The virus has been banished from every corner of our great nation, even stupid fucking Arkansas, who never listened to me, and you have emerged from the other side as survivors. Join me in celebrating mask-less in a very crowded room, my friends, for nothing—nothing—can take your life now.
Full story.

Hey I'm very stupid (like genuinely) and I kind of get confused when people describe Biden as all kind of horrible things and then mention Donald Trump offhandedly. Are you saying they are both the same old white men or am I misunderstanding. I've heard people say Trump is better than Biden but I don't understand why people say that especially since he would probably just be doing the same thing as Biden is doing if he won the election. I don't need an explanation of things both have done I'd just like to understand the tone since I just can't understand what you mean via text. Sorry if my question is frustrating.
to be clear I do not actually think Trump would be better than Biden. the best-case scenario of a Trump presidency is that a combination of 1. his incompetence, 2. his ego, and 3. the center-left again being galvanized into some form of action will inhibit his ability to ruin the world further.
the real problem is that both Biden and Trump will almost assuredly continue to support slaughter and religious/ethnic hatred throughout the world in service of imperial interests. this is nothing new, mind you, but I do think their presidencies represent a particularly intense and naked type of brutality, one in which the few lines that the American empire would even consider not crossing are completely ignored. whichever one of them wins, I expect this shit country to continue turning a blind eye to the nation-state of Israel's genocidal ambitions, to aid Ukraine only as long as it's convenient (and to continue pressuring them to submit to the whims of international capital), to continue pointlessly sabre-rattling against the PRC and Iran, etc. etc. etc.
moreover Biden's administration has been remarkably apathetic about the ongoing conservative push to censure any public form of transness or sexuality. the few beneficial things that arguably can be attributed to the Biden administration largely couldn't have happened without organized labor anyway, certainly don't outweigh the massacre of thousands overseas; moreover, the sheer extent to which they fucked up the coronavirus response in favor of saving an economy which is still completely fucked anyway cannot be overstated.
tl;dr they're both shitheads and I expect that this country will continue to get worse until, god willing, it balkanizes entirely and ceases to exist as a superpower. you can still feel free to vote - and in the case of local elections, where your vote can have considerably more impact, I would actually encourage this - but the presidential election in particular is going to be a shitshow from start to finish

Mexico Memories 2021, not 2020 🇲🇽
SH -IGS Posted 7th February 2024
SH becomes more nostalgic as he ages or he’s drinking too much tequila. It doesn’t have many activities. So there is plenty of time for ruminating.
He visited Mexico in 2021 and 2022 in a row and this photo of drinking Batanga was in July 2021 in La Capilla (Jalisco) It was not in 2020
Does MN want to revisit Mexico too? 🇲🇽
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
@kaatje62 I have written about this trip in previous posts. Sam has visited Mexico 3 years in a row, the first was in February 2020, returning to Mexico 🇲🇽 in July 2021 with MN and AN and in August 2022. SH’s photo is from July 2021 in La Capilla Tequila-Jalisco. The UK government in 2021 told people not to travel to "green list" countries (Mexico) except for essential reasons. His travel was not essential. For him, and his friends all travel is essential. A tourist who believed that travel restrictions did not apply to him in Mexico.
M.N. doesn't remember when he was one of the Three Stooges in Mexico during the pandemic 😷 SH, MN and AN were the figures of irresponsible men with a lack of discipline, reckless and risky behaviour, the perfect COVIDIOTS.
Tumblr media
The Mexican government emphasised persuasion for people to follow coronavirus restrictions, with mandatory mask-wearing in public and closed spaces and social distancing.

The Three Stooges - SH-MN-AN
@imahalfemptykindofgirl Yeah! SH had his best moment in Mexico before using the country as a back door to enter the United States.
@frenchyses Woke stupidity, in this case it is about stupidity and excesses - it the faculty of thinking in delicate aspects, stupidly, they do not adhere to the rules and refuse to consider them, thinking in their own perspective, and their actions just show that they are just a pretty stupid.
@frenchyses Perhaps you have your definition of "woke", but, this has nothing to do with activist rights or umbrella term for political platforms. Woke stupidity and excesses is a term that extends, more precisely, to define people far more prone to idiocy than is desirable - irrational is always stupid, in the course of action over time, is about human behaviour, nothing else.
@frenchyses The etymology is different. But you still haven't clarified your doubts. —-First was the word woke and then idiocy. All answers were about a whole action. The term idiocy, used is an extremely stupid behavior. It was an explanation but it is also a definition of human stupidity that reveals its own insufficiencies, that’s what it’s about not idiocy. The actions are not beyond the imagination.
@frenchyses As I mentioned earlier and would like to emphasise again, the issue I am discussing has nothing to do with political activism. It is simply about the difference in etymology between the words "stupid" and "idiot".
The word "stupid" originates from the Latin word "stupere" which means "to be amazed or stunned, to be astounded", while the word "idiot" comes from the Greek word "idios" which means "own, private, layman, ignorant person".
This is primarily a discussion about reasoning, human behaviour and different ways of thinking, rather than a matter of social justice, as that is not the focus of my notes.
So, a stupid person is a person, whose thought flow is blocked by some internal or external event, for example by the “wow effect”. This state is usually recoverable.
On the other hand, an idiot is someone whose thought flow is blocked by his Ego / Superiority, flow is not only blocked but cannot change. Due to his behaviour, he cannot change himself due to ignorance. It is very difficult to recover from this state for a given individual. That’s what Dunning–Kruger effect.
@frenchyses None of this is superfluous, in this case, In a literal manner, it is associated with a person in a situation: the pandemic, which exacerbated and accelerated trends, increasing very unintelligent behaviour, and unwillingness to learn. The probability that a certain person is stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.
