A Letter to Andrew

I like you. I will probably never tell you this, you’ll never see this, but I like you. I like you for about a year now, and I keep telling myself to get over you, but I can’t. Whether it’s pride or the fear of getting rejected, I just won’t tell you that I like you. Actually, I let myself dwell on the crazy idea of confessing to you, but I know I will never actually do it. 

I am 99% sure that you liked me back at one point. But then you told me that you liked another girl. That hurt. I don’t know if you still like her. I shouldn’t care whether you do. 

I ask myself what it is I like about you. Frankly, I can’t come up with an answer. But every time you talk to me, I automatically start smiling. I can’t help it. I tell myself to think “logically” about why we won’t work out - your crazy sister, your apathy towards things I care about, your willingness to toss away your values to be part of this world. Honestly, imagining us as an “us” is strange, so why do I still want an “us?”

I’m leaving in a few weeks. Will you miss me?
