I saw a TikTok recently that really changed my view on education and learning. I forget the exact quote but it said something along the lines of “learn in good faith, and the grades will come”

So often I find myself obsessing over getting an A and not taking time to enjoy the fact that I am studying what middle school/high school me dreamed of. My younger self would hear about the things I am accomplishing and would be so excited. So that raises the question, if I picked these classes, why should my desire for a 4.0 outweigh letting myself enjoy the learning process and just doing the best I can? Good grades come to those who like and resonate with the material being taught. Maybe instead of focusing on memorization for some topics, emphasizing and spending time on relating the content and deepening my understanding is better. I've found that my chem lecture is so fascinating and just having the opportunity to learn more about the complexity of the world around us is so cool. While reaction rates can be boring, when thinking about it, catalysts have huge biological impacts in our body's daily functioning. Life simply would not be able to do what it does without these reactions. I am learning about details that relate to the reactions that allow me to have the energy to move. Learning becomes more valuable when you don't focus on the destination( a grade) but think about it as a journey.

I am so super surprised that I ended up actually finishing all that I needed to do this week.

Productive:

Did 2 Chemistry assignments

Worked through Chemistry practice problems

Submitted a Pre Calc quiz

Wrote lecture notes for Biology

Self Care:

had a breakfast I have been craving for weeks (eggs benedict)

re-read old journal entries

3/1/24 Wednesday

I had a nice day today, so I wanted to post abt it!!

To-do list for today:

Go to the library ✅ picked up a book for my chemistry competition

Study for my chemistry test tmrw ✅ I have been studying for it for almost a week, and I honestly don't feel very good about it, but I know I studied hard so it should be ok

Study for my physics test on Friday ✅ only a bit, but it still counts!

Play the piano ✅

Grocery shopping ✅ bought some great protein bars

Finish my social studies assignment ✅ I am honestly kind of proud about how I did it, I actually took a lot of time to make it great

Do my German hw ✅

Exercise ❎ I thought i would be alone in my room, but my stepsister was here today lmao so I didn't want to exercise in front of her

I can honestly say I didn't waste any of my time today. Usually I go on Instagram for an hour and then complain I don't have enough time, but not today. I got home, went straight to studying, then played the piano as a break, then went back to studying, then had my piano lesson (where I kind of slayed ngl), got home, went back to studying and then we celebrated my mom's birthday, and then went straight to studying.

I also beat my anxiety and wore a bit of make up to school today! I know it's normal, but I honestly feel like lipstick on a pig whenever I wear even the slightest amount, but I wore some corrector, eye pencil and a tinted lip balm, and the girls in my class said i looked great 🥹🫶🏻

How do you actually use previous question papers?

Here's the thing, I've read a whole lot of things tips for this but none have worked for me, so this may not work for you either but, there's no harm in experimenting, right?

Get the question papers

Now, look through the papers...

You need not set a timer and practice these questions but instead, check for a pattern or any format.

Like, a question is being repeated for every damn test and you haven't studied it? It's likely that it will be asked for the next test.

You see questions from certain lessons being repeated only from the same section? Focus on it.

And for this, you don't even need like previous year papers, even the mock tests or suprise quizzes can be used to identify which lessons are important.

Search for a pattern, focus on it and shape it

Then, when you've mostly gone through all the papers, go through the questions which they've repeated like once or twice and be sure that you can answer any question from those papers you have. You can go through the rest of the material a little slower.

Mind this that all tips may not work for you and that is completely fine :)

20/100 days of being productive

What I did today:

-had my extra English lesson

-studied physic for upcoming test

-started my computer science worksheets

-worked out for a little bit and had P.E class

Hey guys!

So today was quite good! I hoped for better but I can't complain that much ☺️

The work thing tho is that my teacher didn't approved for my sculpture project and I have to do it again. That kinda made me mad and sad because it's second week when I just literally can't do shit 🥹

Played a lot today and I slightly regret it but well.

And that's it for today!
