starting my art direction masters next week and I’m almost done with my desk setup. Struggling to hide the cables and keeping it organized, tho.

What to wear to the office when you do not know what to wear
I often have those days when I am just standing in front of my wardrobe and I can't seem to figure out what I want to wear that day to the office. I have a couple of tips that I want to share. They work for me, so it may work for you as well.
I. Dress for your mood
First I would define what mood I am in that day, what I want to achieve and how to select my clothes so that my outfit would help me achieve that goal or fit that mood I am in.
If I am feeling feminine and powerful, I would opt for a dress or skirt which emphasizes my shape and which gives a voice to my femininity.
If I am feeling more “cool” and relaxed, I would choose to wear something elegant and sporty at the same time. Pairing sneakers with suitpants can be the way to go.
If I am feeling very low in the morning, I would choose something sparkly or very vivid colors to wear in order to put myself in a better place, I am really not that type of girl who would wear black on a day when I am feeling sad. But you know yourself best, if black works better for you, then go ahead!
II. Monochromatic Look
If you are unsure what mood you are in and not sure what message you would like to channel, you can select a monochromatic look. Always sheek, and gives others the impression that you did think about your outfit that day. One color outfits can elongate your body, so it is highly recommended for shorter ladies.
Just some prime examples:
III. Document your favorite outfits
What I found really useful is basically shopping in my wardrobe. There are days when I enjoy just standing in front of my wardrobe and trying on outfits that I think I would enjoy. On these occasions I find 80% of my outfits that I will wear in the office. I would take a picture of most of my favorites and save it on a private Pinterest board or simply in the gallery.
On days when I have no inspiration at all, I would browse those pictures and select one with which I resonate on that day. It is a very simple trick, but can be a lifesaver when you are in a hurry or just simply not in the mood of making decisions.
IV. Wear something unusual
What if you feel fed up with your usual outfits? What if you get bored by just looking at yourself in the mirror?
Come up with an outfit that is unusual of you.
I am a girl who usually never wear jeans to the office for simple reasons: it is not comfortable to sit in it for 8 or more hours a day and the material is not elegant. However, I wanted to spice up things one day, so decided to wear a simple white shirt with jeans to the office with elegant black blazer and elegant black heels (similar outfit as the one below). I felt really cool in my outfit and received many compliments on it - my conclusion was that it worth experiencing out of one’s comfort zone, it can bring you so much joy!
I hope you enjoyed this one, see you soon!

What I wore in a week - 8 - 12 Jan 2024
Monday
Relatively simple, white and black outfit.
Tuesday
Tuesday was full of meetings, so wanted to feel and look professional with a twist. The metallic shirt made me feel really good and fashionable, the blazer helped my look to be more professional and the skirt added a feminine touch.
Wednesday
Wearing something unusual for me - light denim with high heel boots, but I was feeling powerful that day.
Thursday
Was for a mood for something blue and went for this look. The blue blazer and the top underneath are almost identical, so the outfit came together really nice.
Friday
Was in a mood for wearing something crazy. Recently came over the colorful tights trend that I really wanted to try. As I am wearing red really often, I chose a red pair of tights and combined with black boots and a black short. The blazer is so long that the short are almost unnoticable, but it looked really cool all buttoned-up.
