also i went through your profile just now, i know it is a lot to ask but if you find time, please write the Styrain GP fic!!? it's such a pivotal piarles moment ™ in their lore and THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH ANGSTY FICS ON IT like, HOW. I JUST. am so baffled.
that gp haunts the living daylights out of me. it could've been the end of them. had pierre not forgiven charles, everything would've been just gone or not the same anymore, at the very least. AND THIS IS PIERRE we are talking about. who's had a rough f1 journey to put it mildly, and charles KNOWS, and yes we can all say the demotion was in the past but I'm pretty sure half of the planet is still processing 2020, even i find it hard to believe that we're in 2023, in my brain 2019 was yesterday and the fact that all the drivers are constantly under scrutiny, "you're only as good as your last race" thinking and shenanigans and i just. pierre could've chosen his career over charles and i truly would've understood it, because like, at the end of the day, all these drivers what they really care about is results and winning and points and anything that comes in between is ruthlessly put aside AND DESPITE ALL THAT, DESPITE EVERYTHING, the fact that they made up and found their way back to each other, the fact that pierre would rather not worry about a botched race even though it came at the expense of charles, the fact that by next Wednesday he was making jokes about the incident in interviews, that he didn't carry any grudges and grievances forward and everything was okay, because it was Charles.
i have no trouble believing that had it been anyone else, it would've caused a fallout, i know if something on track goes wrong between Este and him next season, the old grievances would come back haunting them,, BUT that was never the case with charles, because it's charles and he's so much more important, he's so much more valued and cherished in Pierre's mind than the race itself, the fact that they moved on and they have talked about it in case it happens in the future, the fact that they're able to separate track life from their personal life, the fact that even though they have shitty races, if the other has a good one, they won't hesitate to celebrate each other. I AM JUST SO IN LOVE WITH THEIR BOND.
like if we think of it in terms of pierre's career, 2021 was a GOOD year for him, he was definitely turning heads and making people question whether his talents should be reduced to a rb b team, 2021 is such a crucial year in his career trajectory and this incident happened in that year. it would've been easy to let anger take over and let charles go, it would've been easy to let wounds fester and boil over, but he didn't, they didn't. because it's them and they're important to each other and i just want to cry now.
all this to say, i really would love if you wrote the Styrain GP fic, hehehe
🙏🙏🙏
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH, anon, i have been coming back to my inbox to read through this again and again just to nod my way fervently through it, because, YES. yes yes yes yes yes!!! you get it, oh my god, you just get it. everything you said here is so "!!!" and so very true - pierre could easily have let charles go, as you said, and it would've been completely understandable considering where his career is at. (and also bcs pear is a bit of a petty bitch, lmao, just LOOK at those infamous film festival shenanigans with este, hehe 😏🤭) but the point is: charles is different. to pierre, charles is different, and special, and even though pierre was rightfully pissed off after the race, he still listened to charles and forgave him when he came to talk to him. and just. god. as piarles moments go, it is absolutely HUGE omg 🙏🙏🙏 you have said it all so absolutely perfectly that i don't think there's much more for me to say other than just, fuck yeah, styria 2021 is a massive one. omg.
now secondly: i am so 🥺🥺 and 🥰 that you took the time to go through my profile (and my freaking insane tags) like this!! that is SUCH a sweet thing to do, and ridiculously flattering, omg 🙈🙈😍 this one made me particularly happy bcs the styria fic is one i've been wanting to write since the moment i first learned what happened between them there. and that was, oh, freaking MAY 2022?? well before i'd even published my first f1 fic to AO3... yeah. the styria gp piarles fic is one that's been living in the back of my mind and heart for months now, so i am so touched that you are this excited about it too 🥺🥺 this ask has definitely inspired me to bump the styria fic up a good few places on my to-be-written list, so, ily always for that, anon ❤️
the last thing i wanted to say! omg, i completely agree that there aren't nearly enough angsty styria fics out there (but that's bcs i'm a bit of a whore for a good old angsty reconciliation fic and in my opinion there can NEVER be enough of them.) i've checked my AO3 bookmarks for you, though, anon, and i've actually found three which i've read and adored:
hand covers bruise by anonymous - i can't lie to you, i know exactly who the author of this one is 🙈 so i went to their AO3 profile to find it, and it had DISAPPEARED, and i nearly had a mini heart attack, ngl to you, because this is my favourite styria fic of all. i literally went "no no no! please no!" when i thought it had been deleted 💔 but thankfully it's still there, only on anon. so i will respect the author's privacy and not link it to them here, but omg, i will say that this fic is EVERYTHING one could ever want in a styria piarles fic. the hate-sex-that-isn't-really-hate-sex, 🐶 style (!!) but also a conversation about what happened between them, and the characterisation... it's PERFECT, truly it is. i cannot recommend this one enough 🙏
kiss it better by foxholecourts on AO3 - this is another "they fuck it out" post-styria, and it is as angsty as it is absolutely excellent and wildly hot. fun fact: this is on my very first page of AO3 bookmarks in this fandom! old but GOLD, as they say 🤭💙
the consequences of your actions by emotionalsupportfastcars on AO3 - this is a really beautiful (and heartbreaking) look at pierre and charles' emotional journey post-styria: particularly angsty bcs it portrays them already in a committed relationship here. there's no smut in this one, but there are SO many emotions, and i find it absolutely stunning in its simplicity. just such a good bit of angst writing, this!
so there you have it, anon! sorry for making you wait so long for this reply (🙈) but i am unfortunately distractible as alllll hell and very messy and chaotic when it comes to answering asks, i'm afraid. but i LOVED this ask so much, and i appreciate you so so much for sending it! ❤️❤️

at this point i’ve seen more races in austria than my own family in a year
It's not only the amount of time they race there (5 times in 3 years with their scheduled GP), it's that the amount of red flags I have seen there.
In 2020, we had 2 red flags in Austria 1. (In Moto2 Enea's crash and Syahrin crashing into Enea's bike. In MotoGP, Franky's bike colliding into Zarco's bike, and we all know what happened in there). In Austria2, another red flag (Maverick and the bike going into flames).
In 2021, during Austria 1 it was red flagged too (Dani crashed and Savadori crashed into the bike, making it go into flames). Austria 2 was the craziest race with riders changing bikes and Brad wins with slick tyres on a wet track, which is the most brave and stupid thing to do.
So basically 4 red flags in 4 races. And the amount of crashes and track warning riders receive here. No, I not looking forward to them racing in the Red Bull Ring.
And just to make it all worse, the track has been remodelled. They put a chicane in the long straight because they wanted to reduce speed at turn 2.
Tumblr media
If I remember, correctly is in that straight where Enea and Dani had their crashes, so potentially this will make the track safer. I also know that this change of directions looks super cool on slowmo cams and in GIF, but being honest, they scare the shit out of me. I always see the riders falling and crashing.
To sum it up, please get rid of this circuit.

Thank you for the tag @linewire
1. Who or what got you into F1?
Seeing f1 trend on tumblr every other week got me looking at the tag, then styrian gp 2021 happened and watched the tag go crazy as this leclerc guy went through the grid. Then my dad and brother told me to watch dts with them.
2. Who was the very first F1 driver you supported? Do you support them now? Have your opinions on them differed or stayed the same since then?
Charles fan first from the very first day. Because i'll tell you when i saw him in dts, i *died* THAT WAS THE LECLERC GUY IN THE RED CAR?? and even now he's still the one
3. Who’s your current favourite F1 driver?
Listing my current top 5: Charles, Max, Yuki, Oscar, Lance
4. Is there a driver pairing or pairings you support? What made you attracted to that pairing in the first place?
Lestappen because i love generational talents who are thrust into greatness with nicknames like predestined and inevitable
Yukierre has a special place in my heart tho
5. Do your parents, siblings or relatives have a favourite team and/or favourite driver(s)?
My dad supports the underdogs so 2021 he supported max, 2022 he supported checo then for 2023 alonso
My brother is a mclaren/lando girlie (gn)
6. Do you have any favourite races? Are there any that stand out to you the most?
Monza 2019 will always make me cry, Silverstone 2022 was so fucking great but also pain, and Baku 2018 will always stand out to me because drama and p6 for rookie charles
7. Do you have a favourite circuit? Can be from the past or from the current calendar.
Monza is for the dreamers and i am a dreamer so do the math. For real tho, there's just something so romantic about that track. I love Baku too for castle reasons.
8. Have you ever been to an F1 race in real life? Feel free to tell us your experience going to one if you like.
Haven't yet, races are too far and I don't have that kind of money yet (it's all going to concerts).
9. Have you ever met an F1 driver in real life?
No
10. Do you have a favourite F1 car? If so, what is it?
Ooh i love love seeing the 1950s cars because they're just so different to the ones we have today and they're just classically beautiful.
For a specific answer tho, She (F1-75 when she was a cokehead)
11. Do you have a favourite one win wonder?
Estie and Pierre are so special to me and they're celebrations after their wins was !!! . Like este's hug with nando (so funny bc estenando) aand pierre atop monza confetti raining on him and there was no crowd (it did things to my heart).
For one (sprint) win wonder, Oscah <3
For one (wdc) win wonder, KIMI RAIKKONEN I LOVE YOU
12. Do you have any favourite quotes from the F1 world? This can either be inspirational or hilarious.
"Sometimes you love the sport, it just don't love you back" - lance stroll
"Monaco i love you and hopefully one day you will love me back" - charles leclerc
I'm a fan of unrequited love it seems
Tagging @f1-giuki @dreamingamongthestars @blueballsracing if y'all haven't done it yet!! (no pressure tho)

top 3 piarles moments 😸
can I say Abu Dhabi waist grip three times
answer under the cut!
1. Pierre took Charles to Milton Keynes to indoor skydive
Tumblr media
So much fun in Milton Keynes tonight with @PierreGASLY ! Best thing I've done in my life ! #toofun
the implication that charles did the best thing in his life with pierre makes me want to roll on the floor and sob
2. Monza 2020 hug
Tumblr media
the fact that charles wasn’t medically cleared at this point but went out too congratulate pierre anyway and stayed for the entire duration of the podium celebration behind the boards. the fact that their names will always be together in monza makes me sooooo unwell just thinking about it.
3. NBA touch lean
Tumblr media
pierre seeking to touch charles and charles immediately leaning towards him
honorable mention goes to: 2021 styrian gp (for the angst), pierre adding charles to his five-a-side to look pretty and distract the opponents, and the entire 2021 drivers’ parade (i’m so sorry i took you for granted)
anonymously message me (3) things you want to know about me

what are some of your favourite races throughout charles' f1 career? (apart from wins, ofc) i want to watch a bunch of them where he performs well but i don't want to sit through the whole seasons and i can't figure out which one's i should watch 🤧
There are quite a lot!
There are also a lot of races where he did really really well but they are boring af to watch wrt to him because he was in a race all of his own 30s away from the leaders and 30s ahead of everyone else.
And there is a lot of those in 2021 and 2020 like Monza and Cota.
Some of my other faves not including this season are
Baku 2018
Sochi 2018
Bahrain 2019 ( but prepare for heart break because the engine was mean)
Silverstone 2019 (will probably be my fave wheel to wheel action forever)
Singapore 2019 (he is super whiny on radio and I love it)
Austria 2020
Silverstone 2020
Turkey 2020 (until the last lap)
Sochi 2021 (until it rains and he can't pit but a great drive either way)
Styrian GP 2021 (apart from the moment with Pierre)
Silverstone 2021 (beware has a big crash in the first lap)
If I missed some or someone else has some other faves pls add them!

Spanish GP: Preview - Red Bull
Max Verstappen: "We had an incredible week in Miami, I've had some time to rest with my family since and now I'm looking forward to driving in Barcelona again. I have a lot of good memories at the track from my first win in Formula One back in 2016 when I was 18. Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is a track that we all know very well as a Team due to amount of testing we have done there over the years, so unlike Miami, we have a substantial amount of data to use ahead of the race. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going from the last few races with a clean start from Friday onwards." Sergio Perez: "Miami was a crazy week for us all and, while Max got the win and I collected important points, I didn't leave satisfied. I always want to be on the podium and I knew I had the pace to beat the Ferraris so I was frustrated. If I can have a consistent weekend in the car then I know I can be up there and Max and I will be pushing for a repeat of Imola. "Since Miami I have had a new baby, Emilio, so it would be amazing to welcome him to the world with a great result. We know the track in Barcelona very well because of pre-season testing so we know what to expect but the car we tested in February is very different from the car we are now driving, in a good way, and it will be interesting to see gains we have made since then.” Stats & Facts Max's win at the 2016 Spanish GP is famous as the Dutchman became the youngest driver ever to win a Grand Prix, but at the time he was also the tenth different winner in a run of ten consecutive Spanish Grands Prix. Three of those winners were Red Bull Racing drivers', Mark Webber in 2010 and Sebastian Vettel in 2011. Checo has been quickest in the qualifying speed trap at every race this year, with Max being second quickest at three of those races. Max is one of five drivers to have not dropped a position on the first lap of a race in 2022, but he is has had the toughest task in defending as he is the only one of those drivers to reach Q3 at every Grand Prix, the others are Esteban Ocon, Nicholas Latifi, Alex Albon and Mick Schumacher. The Oracle Red Bull Racing Team have once again been flying when it comes to pitstops this season. Checo received the two fastest pitstops at the Miami GP, with a 2.33s stop eclipsing a 2.37s effort. The Team have made six of the nine fastest stops in 2022. Max is seeking a hat-trick of consecutive wins for only the second time in his F1 career. The other occurrence was the 2021 French, Austrian and Styrian GPs, but as the latter two were both held at the Red Bull Ring, a win in Spain would mark the first time he has won three consecutive races at three different racetracks. Oracle Red Bull Racing currently have the longest streak of Q3 appearances for any team in F1. They have been present in every Q3 since the 2018 Russian Grand Prix, a run of 70 consecutive races. via Pitpass - the latest hottest F1 news http://www.pitpass.com/
