i get how you like hearing abt how ppl got into dnp . cus theres SO many different experiences , its really cool

mine was just seeing dans video about suki in 2014 cus it was recommended to me, and i watched a few of his videos cus he was pretty funny . i watched dan alot more than phil (if i had my old youtube account id probablt be able to see when i subbed to them but sadly i deleted it in a manic episode few years ago😭) occasionally when the two of then would pop up on my recommended id watch it but i wasnt into them as much as i was other youtubers (i was very into pewds and mark and jack at that time)

their gaming channel was recommended to me (portal blindfolded) and i think then i started watching their gaming alot more than their own/joint fun videos LOL

thru those years it was kind of just a tame likeness for them and their content . when their hiatus happened i kind of stopped watching them other than when id see a new video . and then the gaming channel came back and Oh Boy! this is the first time ive actively involved myself with the phandom im surprised i didnt years ago u guys r so nice and cutesy 🫶

Oh wow that’s super interesting!!! Wild that you kinda stayed at the sidelines for like 9 years but honestly it’s probably for the better cause shit was wild! I was a lurker until 2018 so I didn’t get super involved either but I did see a lot of the 2015/2016 behaviour hahah!

Anyway I agree the phandom is a really lovely place now :) it’s the one fandom I can come to where there’s barely any drama and it’s so relaxing!!! Glad you were able to join at this moment in time haha

gotta say, somethin REAL fascinating seein how many people are willing to play the "its abelist to tell people not ot engage with hp" card, in a way that ive NEVER seen with anyone or anything else doing harm to marginalised communities.

pewdiepie was a BIG hyperfixation of my teens, i still fuckin was able to cut him out, and it wasnt abelist for people to point out the harm he does. and cut out a BUNCH of other youtubers i was equally or even MORE fixated on because they wouldnt stop screaming "sub to pewds".

laybrinth and david bowie were even bigger hyperfixations of mine as a kid and teen - i still cut him out when i found out hed had "relationships" with 13 year olds.

i do Not have sympathy for people who DESPERATELY beg to have respect for loving HP publicly.

there are some hyperfixations i didnt want to get rid of, despite the fact they were bad. but you know what? i do so quietly, i dont fuckin make liking those things my life.

i dont think its abelist for me to say "like what you want, but if you bring that shit near me i wont feel safe around you." its not like its a new situation, its a decision ive been forced to make time and time again in the past. and yes, you CANT always cut things out, but you can control how you deal with that fact. im not saying you cant enjoy fanart or whatever. but if youre gonna publicly like something or someone that people RIGHTFULLY have reason to be uncomfortable with, then its your choice to deal with the consequences, or do not approach those people with that topic.

if jkr wasnt ACTIVELY causing harm, i wouldnt care so much. but no, im tired of feeling like i need to justify why i do not feel comfortabel around people who wear her creations as a badge of honour

[That depends. With how YouTube is today, you are a slave to the algorithm. You have to keep pumping out content daily or by-daily in order for your content to remain pushed to viewers to get that sweet AdSense and sub count. Knowing how I am, I'm not even gonna attempt to try doing that, even if I did have the opportunity, I rather play games and do so for others to enjoy than feel the need to constantly feed the machine. So, making a living on YouTube is doable provided you can bring in the numbers and keep it going steadily. People like Pewds, Mark, MatPat, and the Grumps are pretty much set because their channels allowed them enough success that they can afford to expand into other fields outside of making videos.]

YouTube (Kodoku’s Lilacs, The Life of a Flowstar, No. 134)

As I've been getting older, I've started to drift away from playing video games, since they weren't hitting as hard as when I was younger. Instead, I tend to watch YouTube videos, I seem to be more of a watcher than a doer, which I kinda don't like. Don't get me wrong, I love the creators on the platform, I just happen to lose motivation into playing video games. I'll still play them then and there, I haven't fully quit games, I still gotta beat RDR2 lol.

My favorite creators atm are Jacksepticeye, Jev, PopularMMOs, and Pewdiepie. Except for Jev, I actually watched all these creators when I was younger, back when PopularMMOs wasn't arrested, Pewds was at 50 million subs, and when Jack had green hair, good times. I found Jev later on, I believe late 2020, and he's been one of my favorite YouTubers since because his content is funny and relatable. There's probably a few more that I watch that I haven't mentioned, but those are the main ones and they're the best for me, guess it's time to go watch them again lol. Until then, have a good day!
