The reason this film has not existed before is because it was in Spanish. Because the market is a market dominated by English and big productions. This is a big production… in Spanish. And that doesn't exist. And it's a film that is breaking, or trying to break, a barrier. A glass ceiling that is there imposed by the market, which is dominated by English and big productions from Hollywood. And I want to tell our stories… in Spanish. And it is an effort that has taken us ten years and we are very proud of it. And that people assume it as a success of all of us, to me is super important.

You checked the time on your wristwatch as you frowned, wondering why your secretary had not arrived yet. You did arrive five minutes earlier than your usual time, but he would always be there before you with your hot cup of latte already placed strategically on your desk. After browsing some documents on your computer, you decided to call one of your staff.
“Beomgyu,” you said, placing the telephone between your ear and your shoulder while you closed some of the windows on your screen. “Once Park arrives, tell him to go straight to my office.”
The moment you heard a knock on your door, you sighed to yourself and mouthed ‘finally’ before telling the person to come in. Jay huffed and puffed as he let himself into your office, fixing the glasses perched on his nose and the bag strap that was almost sliding off his shoulder.
“Boss, I am so sorry,” he greeted you without letting you greet him first. “I’m late, it’s all my fault. I should have woken up earlier. It won’t happen again I swear.”
“First of all, calm down,” you said as you pushed your chair back. You stood up and started walking towards the center of the room. “I suppose there’s a valid reason for you being late?”
“I have no excuses,” Jay answered, looking down to the floor because he was too afraid to meet your eyes. “I can stay late today. And tomorrow. Or how many days it will take for you to forgive me.”
You merely stared at his face, wondering what about him seemed so different that day. You did not want to assume anything or end up feeling restless because you could not figure out what it was, so you just shrugged as you walked to your minibar.
“You don’t need to stay late, but I’m cutting your lunch break short.” You glanced at him through the mirror by your minibar. He had his lips pressed together.
“I understand,” he said softly, straightening his position and holding on to the strap of his bag.
You wondered why he was still there, so you turned around and clicked your tongue. “Well, go back to your desk then.”
You walked side by side with Yeji, talking to her about the meeting she had just attended. Behind you, Beomgyu and Keeho were tailing you like bodyguards. You fell in line to grab a selection of food when you heard two women in front of you talking. From their attire, you guessed that they worked on a different floor.
Jay quickly bowed at you before taking a couple of steps back and turning around, leaving your office and closing the door in the gentlest way possible.
---
Sometimes when you feel like you were up for more social interactions, you would come up to the rooftop canteen to have lunch with your staff. Most of the time you would have your lunch delivered to your desk, but since Jay was going to be in front of your office all the time, you did not want to be around his presence for some reason.
“No, but did you see him today?” Asked the first girl in a ponytail.
The girl with shorter hair shook her head. “I didn’t. Why?”
“He looked so cute with his hair down! Like all fluffy with the front bangs and… ugh, he’s just so cute. I wished he worked on our floor.”
It took you a second to realize the two employees were talking about your secretary. You smirked in amusement, and then Yeji cleared her throat behind you, eyeing the two female staff. The two of them turned their heads, and the moment they landed their eyes on you and your crimson lips—since you were the only one in the building who wore a color so striking, they became flustered.
“I’m sorry, Miss,” the girl in the ponytail bowed slightly at you. She then stepped back and pulled her friend with her, so you could cut the line.
You shook your head and tilted your chin. “No, it’s okay. Go ahead.”
You kept your distance from them, and Yeji carefully peered over your shoulder, whispering to you. “I can’t believe they had the nerve to fangirl over Park.”
“Is he popular?” You asked, taking a step forward as the line started to move.
Yeji shrugged, but then Beomgyu, behind her, chimed in. “He is, Miss. Most of his fans are employees from the other--”
Keeho elbowed Beomgyu in his ribs before he could finish his sentence. You just chuckled while you picked out your meal for the day. The four of you sat together near a window and talked about various things before you finally noticed that everyone had finished their lunch.
As soon as lunch break was over, your three staff headed back to their desks happily after being treated to a cup of latte by you. You held two cups in your hands as you walked towards Jay’s desk. The moment he saw you, he was already moving to stand up, but you clicked your tongue and shook your head.
“Stay seated,” you said calmly, placing a cup of latte in front of him. He received it without question. “So this hair situation…”
Your hands were floating vaguely, gesturing at his head. Jay cleared his throat and moved in his seat. “Oh, right. Because I woke up late, I didn’t have enough time to style it like usual. I’m sorry if it comes off too messy,” explained Jay, messing up his bangs haphazardly.
Only then you realized that since day one, Jay had always come in with his hair completely pushed back, or in a half-and-half style. It made him look mature and capable, while this effortless, fluffy style just made him look like a boy. A cute one, actually.
“Make sure to wake up early. I don’t want anyone getting distracted by your… hair,” you said, eyeing him from top to bottom.
The gesture clearly made him flustered. He nodded and fixed his glasses, looking down until you disappeared into your office. He kept staring at the floor for moments after you left, though, because he was wondering what you meant about being a distraction.
Did you think he looked good?
