SO. i was on a five hour long flight and naturally i spent that time watching tua s3 because.. holy fucking shit it’s finally here. i wasn’t able to post the whole time so now it’s time for an obnoxiously long not-actually-live liveblog of episodes 1-3!!!!!!!

episode 1:

- there were only 16 women??????? that’s. suspicious.

- oH i love the parallels between this opening sequence with the sparrows and the same sequence with the umbrellas from s1

- fei you are actually so cool holy fuck

- the sparrows are so much more successful than the umbrella lmao rip

- the simple swap between “number X (name)” and “name (aka number X)” is so telling of how the sparrows are humanized where the umbrellas were not

- i KNEW jayme was my favorite for a good reason- she beats up racists!!!!!

- klaus going “ben 🥺” made me s a d

- good god i missed these idiots <3

- the “everyone else can see ben, right?” was. oof. the implications. (also klaus’ little hat tip was so cute)

- luther you’re an absolute sweetie and i love you

- “you slay me chris”

- oh no grace and diego angst,, it’s my weakness

- jayme’s power is so cool omfg

- footloose playing within the first ten minutes of the show…. let’s fucking GO s3 soundtrack!!!

- oh my god this dance battle,, i love big dorky men

- it took me so much longer than it should have to realize that this sequence wasn’t really happening and that it was. y’know. the hallucinogenic poison.

- okay but even thought it’s not real,, they’re DANCING :D !! klaus and ben are dancing together! and diego and grace!!

- ben punching klaus :,(

- why can everyone understand christopher???why is this not being addressed???????

- “this was era appropriate 😡!”

- fifteen minutes in and diego is flying around on top of christopher screaming “who’s your daddy”,,, i love this fucking show

- alphonso is not what i expected but i love him

- fei’s powers are SO FUCKING COOL I CAN’T GET OVER THEM

- alphonso’s powers are also so cool i’m obsessed with all of these bitches

- not cgi dolores i hate it here 😩 and five kissing air 😭😭

- obsessed with reginald only remembering the umbrellas as “scruffy, fatty, and sad girl”

- okay i feel a bit weird about umbrella-sparrow romances, but sloane and luther are real cute

- i love that this battle ends with a reminder that viktor is actually the most powerful ever

- ohhhh i love that first title screen with the umbrella and sparrow shadow

- “here you go… it’s your ass!” “……. okay! i think luther’s concussed.”

- curly haired klaus i love you <3

- lester who are you 👀 ?

- viktor being the peacemaker,, i love him

- luther you are. SO dumb. i adore you.

- i HATE that allison hasn’t figured out yet that claire wouldn’t exist here,, this is going to crush her (and me)

- hello mr. pug i love you :)

- :0 it IS mr. pennycrumb !!

- “the skinny one is their weak link” …is this leading up to a klaus powers arc?? is that what i sense is happening here???

- marcus is such a powerful leader, luther’s gonna be so insecure

- diego getting all soft when he mentions lila 🥺

- “and dad said i’d never go to summer camp :D” luther’s genuinely my fave this season he’s so cute

- allison and viktor talking about ray and sissy :,/

- viktor’s reaction to being called sister…. i sense a coming out arc coming on 👀

- hmm okay i’m assuming lester is harlan… the overstimulation and nature sounds are very autistic of him

- how many fucking towels does marcus go through

- marcus thinking viktor is/should be number one :,)

- the birds materialize from fei herself,, that’s so cool :0

- i love that their hairstyles are just changing with no explanation,, it’s been one (1) day and these bitches were like. you know what i need? some ✨grooming✨

- oh god oh fuck oh no…… allison 😭😭

- THE KENNEDY SIX,, OH NO 😩

- holy shit viktor’s realizing he’s trans via flashbacks of sissy this is too much for me 🥲

- the haircut :,)

- okay but when the fuck did diego have time to get a haircut

- ahwhwhwwhw i’m so proud of viktor

- i love that after he comes out there’s a beat and everyone’s like “yeah that’s chill” before five is like ANYWAYS back to being mad at you

- five is gonna be so sad when he realizes there is, in fact, another apocalypse

- okay but i love dad!diego so much

- the sparrows modernized the academy this is genuinely evil

- i miss umbrella ben :,( although i’m glad we get to see ben’s powers more because they’re sick as fuck

- oh lila,, what a disaster girl i love her

- aww excited five is so cute :D

- okay but why is it a british car and w h y is klaus driving??!??!

- oh my god this plotline with klaus and his mom is gonna kill me 😭

- “when i was your age i was becoming a real man” oh ? trans rights ? mayhaps ? (i know i’m really reaching here but shut up trans diego is important to me)

- lila saying she’s slept with many many *people*….. queer rights baybie !!

- it’s interesting to me that the sparrows act like they’re so much more loyal and put together than the umbrellas, but they obviously don’t care about each other nearly as much as the umbrellas do

- “flock of she-gulls” + ben laughing is very cute (i missed his laugh 🥺)

- morally gray girlboss allison be my wife please

- klaus your OUTFIT,,, WHY are you snorkeling what’s going on?!?

- the sparrows have such a different dynamic with reginald than the umbrellas holy shit,, the way they call him “reg” and “reggie” and also are highkey kinda abusive towards him?? it’s really. huh. it’s really so different and i don’t know why.

- grace is so terrifying it’s not even funny

- dolores: is a mannequin lila: calls her a mannequin five: don’t you dare talk about her like that >:(

Fic thingy: succession these intensifies (im actually kinda too scared to ask) ((pls don't tell me it's tomgreg darkolai au)

ahahhaha nO, it is not technically a succession au. but it is a modern business AU that I started last year when succ s3 was airing. so it’s ~lightly succession flavored because a) those were the vibes, b) I was listening to the soundtrack a lot when writing it, c) I literally only know Big Company Buzzwords from watching succession, d) FUCKED-UP RICH PEOPLE FAMILIES, MY FICTIONAL BELOVED, very succession-flavored (do I hate 75% of the lantsovs? yes. do I LOVE writing about all four of them? Y E S.)

Nikolai was occupied with the terribly important task of stacking a veritable army of be-cheesed toothpicks onto his impractically small porcelain plate. A little salami. A few more cheeses. He dodged around the cornichons in favor of a few tempting berries—

“So, what do you think?”

He looked up to find a man watching him—sharp and at ease, one hand in the pocket of a well-tailored black suit, the other holding a wine glass with all the grace of an orchestra conductor. His dark hair was swept back from his face, the lines of his profile even sharper and more elegant than his suit. His gaze was steady, appraising, easy with a certain confidence that immediately said calculation. Not that Nikolai knew anything about that affect, of course. He instead glanced back to the table and toyed with the stack of crackers on his tiny porcelain plate.

“I don’t much care for multigrain but I suppose it’s high in fiber. Though it does run the risk of competing with the cheese for flavor, which is of course my main objection,” he answered.

“And what a travesty it would be to upset the delicate flavor profile of… please tell me that’s not just a brie?”

He took a discerning and decisive bite. “Hm, a bit too bloomy. Camembert?”

The man reached behind him—hand skirting by Nikolai’s waist—and helped himself to a single wedge of cheese on a single cracker, followed by a contemplative sip of wine. “I see what you mean about the multigrain.”

“Now aren’t you glad you consulted my expertise on all matters cheese-related?”

“I am,” the man answered, “But I was actually asking about the building.”
