angst dcst fic to start off the new year🥳

Senku stared at Science and Science stared back with such science-ness in their eyes that it made Senku’s heart flutter. Senku looked down and shuffled his legs on their bench, Science could see the dash of colour on his cheeks and quickly spoke “Senku there’s something I need to tell you”. “Yes, my dear?” replied Senku, when it came to Science, Senku could not help from faltering from his known stereotypes and takes on a new, much more ‘simp-like’ and petulant form at the presence of his dear Science. “We need to break up” muttered Science, “Pardon?” Senku was speechless, he dedicated his whole life to Science. “It’s just that, you know that guy I was talking to before we got together? Light Yagami?”. “Yes..” mumbled Senku. “Well, he just has a much higher IQ than you” explained Science. “But why does that matter?” exclaimed Senku in desperation. “You know that before we started dating that I was looking for a big juicy IQ, and you just don’t meet my standards anymore, I’m sorry, I really did love you” Science sighed and looked at Senku in attempts of being forgiven. “I can’t believe you” muttered Senku as he got up and quickly tried to hurry away only to trip on his shoelace and fall to the floor, he gets up and runs away, risking an asthma attack. “I’m sorry!” Calls Science from the bench as Senku runs off into the distance. Once he’s far enough, Senku falls to his knees and is left all alone, upset, heartbroken and questioning his sexuality.

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

Love the contrast between the Americans’ “Apollo” and the Soviets’ “Sputnik.” You got the Americans naming their rocket after a Greek god trying to communicate the grandness and importance of this rocket. And you got the Soviets naming their rocket “fellow traveler.” Like a friend you go on an  adventure with together. This rocket is our little friend lol

My father was martyred by Israel on 10 October 2023 after sacrificing his care in hospital so the injured children could take priority. Today would have been his 60th birthday. He was always selfless, kind, and giving for others. My father gave up everything for me to be able to have a better life, because that is what he always dreamed for me and my sister. The world suffered a great loss when he died, and my heart is always with him and every Palestinian who has lost someone.

In his honour and memory, I would love for anyone who is able to do so to consider donating to The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

The PCRF is an amazing organisation that does so much for those in Gaza right now, including helping provide food, water and medicine. You can donate any amount you are able to- there is no minimum! My father would have given his very last cent if he saw the way Palestine was continuing to suffer after over 100 days with this limited aid, so I know celebrating him by helping others is the least he would have wanted.

I saw @parrot-parent do a very successful donation match and I thought it was such a good idea so I will also match all donations up to $500! If you feel comfortable sending me proof of the amount of your donation, I will match it as a donation at the end of February. (My messages are set to mutuals only, but if you donate and we aren’t mutuals if you send an ask with the proof I will make sure to answer it privately.)

the allergy i am seeing grow up around small talk in any form is troubling to me. do you know how to make friends with people in your physical environment? it typically starts with small talk. do you want to live in community? small talk. do you want to have the type of relationship with your neighbors where you can run over and borrow a battery for your smoke detector when it starts beeping at 10pm? small talk!! do you want leeway from your coworkers when you fuck up something small? you gotta be able to build a relationship and that's small talk, baybeee.

"but i don't need friends and i don't care about community!" okay, lone ranger, what about the people in your community who need you? "but i have social anxiety!" me too, bud! we simply must soldier on. making up lists of questions to ask people helps. and people are predisposed to be generous, i've found. even if you make some kind of mistake, what is this but the natural give and take of human interaction? nobody is perfect.

you were not put on this earth to live by yourself and then die. you need people and people need you. treat those around you with curiosity and generousness of spirit and you will gain so much goodwill in return.
