is machete an albino dog? if so.. does he have poor vision like some albino animals do?

Yes, actually! His vision isn't quite as bad as it could potentially be considering his condition, but he's definitely at least nearsighted enough that he'd benefit from wearing glasses. He has trouble seeing distant objects clearly and reading in particular gets challenging if the text is small enough and/or farther than, say, an arm's length away. He tends to hold items very close to his face when he's inspecting them, especially if he's not actively paying attention to how he looks at that moment.

On top of that his eyes are highly sensitive to bright lights. Direct midday sun gives him the worst headaches very swiftly. If he has any say in it, he prefers to go out on overcast days, early mornings and evenings.

He probably has a pair of custom spectacles ready for those occasions when he absolutely can't manage without them, but he's reluctant to keep them on his person consistently (let alone be seen with them). His body keeps finding new ways to let him down and to him, surrendering to wearing glasses would be like admitting another defeat. So he squints and fumbles and does his best to hide the fact he can't see that well. He has a lot of health anxieties and he's worried about the possibility of his vision weakening further and potentially preventing him from doing his job, after all most of it is centered around reading and writing. It's the one thing he enjoys, is very good at, and that makes him feel useful and needed.

I’m talking one handed, he just grabs you and RUNS. You’re tucked like a stack of books in the crook of his arm. Just a foot or two off of the ground, you just dangle helplessly and watch the cobblestone street change.

Once things have settled down, he’s forgotten that he’s holding you. He’ll look around for a moment, then realize that weight in his arm is YOU. He sets you down and he’s very sorry, I promise.

so I've told this story before, but what the hell; it's on my mind. about two years ago when I finished my Lucille park dress cosplay, I posted the pics on Instagram and a makeup artist reached out to me. she'd done some genuinely cool ghost Thomas looks, and wanted to chat about CPeak cosplay. nice! she said some very kind things about my dress. excellent!

...and then immediately segued into bashing Lucille

now, you don't have to like any character. you don't even have to like them to compliment a cosplay! "oh that looks really cool" is fine even if you despise this character unto the flaming depths of Tartarus and back! but. you probably should not start harping on about how much you despise them to someone who just put in months of work to recreate their clothing

I kept trying to redirect the conversation. she kept dragging it back to Lucille Bad. the one exchange I remember distinctly was this:

Her: this is my rabbit! Me: oh, so cute! what's their name? Her: Lucille would never let Thomas have a rabbit. she probably hates it when he's happy :(

I just. no idea. not a single clue.

this went on for a while- "he should have just left her in the asylum! she's the absolute worst!" -before I finally tried to politely ask that she not do it anymore. I figured she might not know the etiquette, so I said it was generally not appropriate to bash a character to someone cosplaying them

wrong thing to say. this touched off a rant about how "female cosplayers" were the worst (cannot emphasize enough that she was a woman exclusively posting videos of Tom Hiddleston characters SFX makeup) and I was trying to force her to the character. cue blocking. The End

...sometimes I still think about the rabbit thing, though
