So after looking closely at the Edolus captains because I wanted to see if there was a consistent design between them.

Nope.

Knightwalker's outfit can barely be considered armour (which yeah, the usual fantasy trope of women wear 'armour' that is not even very protective but that doesn't mean I like the trope)

Lily and Sugar boy both do wear armour although Lily's is a lot better since a, he wears a helmet and b, his stomach isn't exposed like Sugar boy. Which what is the point of wearing armour if it's just chest up and a bit on the legs.

And Hughes just wears regular clothes with a fancy jacket. No armour in sight.

I know this isn't the only secret royal squad, ect that just don't wear armour but it's just kinda funny. Especially when they don't have magic that easily disposable to bring up guards.

I'd say only Lily and Knightwalker are extremely skilled in hand to hand combat as seen with their respective fights (Erza Vs Erza and Gajeel Vs Lily) Sugarboy and Hughes just seem to rely a lot more on their magic items. Sugarboy immediately knew when Gray dodged past his blade and got between them that he was at a disadvantage because he couldn't counter any of Gray's magic.

And if Lucy and Natsu got Hughes out of the amusement park, would there be anything else he could control?

Sometimes I wonder what the people working at Cadmus think of Superboy suddenly wearing designer clothes and actually having money.

Like would they try to put a stop to it cuz they’re toxic af and want Kon to be dependent on them or would they just be really confused on how he managed to become a sugar baby cuz they didn’t upload any information on how to do that but he’s pretty good at it based on how he keeps becoming a sugar baby to people (Tim, Robin, Tim’s other aliases if Tim Drake fails)

The timing of the sugar baby AU being what it is, mostly I would expect them to be confused or just assume whatever's going on over there is above their pay grade. They would absolutely NOT jump to "Superboy is now Sugarboy", though, hahaha.

During that point in canon, most of the named characters working at Cadmus were new hires and pretty decent people, barring, like, Dabney Donovan and maybe a dubiously-ethical government liaison or two. They were just also all definitely completely bonkers and had no grasp of "things that are okay to hire a teenager to do", hahaha. Tim doesn't actually know anyone from the updated staff, though, so while I DO think he's justified to feel that Kon living and working in a historically shady government-backed lab for what is essentially room and board is Fucked Up and a bad and unsustainable idea, he's also primed to assume the worst of everyone not-Kon in the situation.
