Also, speaking of Amitabh, I’ve been binging a lot of 70s Amit-Shashi movies these days and I’ve always felt that beautiful late miss Parveen Babi always seemed to have a better chemistry with Shashi Kapoor than she did with Amitabh despite the latter being a more popular couple? (just so we’re clear, I’m not shipping anyone irl here, I’m just speaking of them as an on screen couple)
Their on screen romance just seemed much more genuine, maybe because Mr. Shashi had the gorgeous face of a romantic hero while Mr. Amitabh looked more handsome in rugged and action hero-ish way? He seemed to be able to somewhat match miss Babi’s charm when it came to romantic scenes which were far and few in between to begin with, but Shashi Kapoor genuinely looked like he was falling for her in all their movies. Like that car ride song in Suhaag where you can see him getting attracted to her even tho he’s maintaining a strict face. (What makes this even more curious is knowledge that apparently Shashi wasn’t too fond of her irl, but still delivered so well)
This can be attributed to him being a brilliant actor, which if you take a look at his filmography you’d know for sure that he was, but speaking vice versa, I also never felt any actress match Mr. Kapoor’s Charisma like her, Zeenat Aman being a close second. Her personality in all those roles was simultaneously opposite to his but they still matched as a couple, which always made me root for them to end up together in every movie.
All in all, while they were both brilliant actors who looked beautiful paired with anyone else and made for a good couple, they are also one of the few couples (alongside Kajol and SRK, Akshay and Katrina, Shammi Kapoor and Asha Parekh, Rekha and Am- nvm) that have such a marvellous chemistry together that you almost wonder if its real.

★ 34 Years of Salman Khan & 10 Highest Grossers of the Year; Bhaijaan has already created history in Bollywood!
August 25, 2022
Salman Khan has delivered the most number of highest grossing films of the year. His biggest grosser count is higher than the legends like Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra too, making him one of the biggest superstars ever Highest grosser of the year is a record that every superstar wishes to deliver at least once in their career. What separates a star from a superstar is their ability to deliver multiple highest grossing films of the year through their acting career. In this article, we will talk about the stars who have delivered the highest grosser of the year for the maximum number of times. The one leading the list of highest grosser of the year is Salman Khan. Through his 34 years in the Hindi Film Industry, Bhaijaan has delivered 10 Highest Grossing Hindi Film of the Year, which is a record of sorts.
Salman Khan. Yes, Salman Khan is the biggest superstar when it comes to delivering the maximum number of the highest-grossing film of the year. He has delivered the 10 highest grosser to date with the first being Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989 and the last being Tiger Zinda Hai in 2017. Here, we are talking about films from the Hindi film industry. In between Maine Pyar Kiya to Tiger Zinda Hai, Salman Khan also delivered Saajan (1991), Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994), Hum Saath Saath Hai (1999), No Entry (2005), Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015). Salman Khan also delivered three consecutive highest grossers of the year from 2010 to 2012 and except for Amitabh Bachchan, no other star has achieved this record to date.
At the second position, we have legendary Dilip Kumar who has delivered 9 highest grossing films of the year. His first highest grosser was Jugnu in 1947. After Jugnu, Dilip Kumar delivered Shaheed (1948) Aan (1952), Madhumati (1958), Mughal E Azam (1960), Ganga Jamuna (1961), Kranti (1981), Vidhata (1982) & Karma (1986) which became the highest grossing film of their respective years. Out of these 9 highest-grossing films of the year, three of them had been released in the second phase of Dilip Kumar which makes his achievement even more enviable. Also, those films had Dilip Kumar as a central character be it Kranti, Vidhata, or Karma.
At number three, we have Aamir Khan who has delivered the 7 highest grossing films to date. Aamir Khan's first highest grosser of the year was Dil in 1990 and his last highest grosser was Dangal in 2016 which went on to become the highest-grossing Indian film on a worldwide basis. His other highest-grossing film of the year includes Raja Hindustani (1996), Ghajini (2008), 3idiots (2009), Dhoom3 (2013), and PK (2014).
In the fourth position we have the Mahanayak Amitabh Bachchan who has been part of the 6 highest grossing films in his hugely sustaining career. The first highest grosser of the year of Amitabh Bachchan was Roti Kapda Aur Makaan which was released in 1974 and had Amitabh Bachchan in a smaller role. After then, He delivered Sholay (1975), Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Muqqaddar Ka Sikandar (1978), Suhaag (1979), and Coolie (1983) as his other highest grosser of the years. Just like Salman Khan, Even Amitabh Bachchan holds the record of delivering 3 consecutive highest grossers of the year from 1977 to 1979.
The fifth position has been tied between Raj Kapoor, Dharmendra, and Shah Rukh Khan. Each of them has delivered the 5 highest grossing films in their career but Shah Rukh Khan has a chance to topple them if he scores another highest grosser which will cement his position at number 6. The 5 highest-grossing films of Raj Kapoor were Barsaat (1949), Awaara (1951), Shree 420 (1955), Anari (1959), and Sangam (1964). The macho action star Dhamendra's 5 highest grossing film includes Phool Aur Patthar (1966), Aankhen (1968), Seeta Aur Geeta (1972), Sholay (1975), and Hukumat (1987). Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Devdas (2002), Veer Zara (2004), and Om Shanti Om (2007).
As mentioned above, Salman Khan is the biggest superstar when it comes to delivering the maximum number of highest-grossing films of the year. Not only this, Salman Khan is the only superstar who has reached a double-digit mark in number of highest grossers of the year in the history of Hindi cinema. He has a good chance next year with Tiger 3 to increase his tally.

Uh, saying this movie 'stars' Jamie Foxx is kinda a lie. Like when Killers Anonymous said it 'starred' Jessica Alba and Gary Oldman (I don't know why that one was the first movie to jump to my mind, and so immediately at that, but clearly I'm still angry about it). I mean, he is technically *in* the movie, yes, but the interwebs made it sound like he'd play an important role. He did, kinda, for the first like 20 minutes - but really, his presence is more about his eventual absence (for the rest of the movie) and the shitstorm that it causes than anything else.
Instead, this movie follows characters played by Stuart Townsend, Gabriel Byrne, and Thandie Newton for the most part. They're cheaters at card games (con artists, I guess, technically speaking) who are looking to make a big score in a game against someone known as 'The Dean' ('starring' Sylvester Stallone, I guess; though it feels like even he has more of a role than Jamie Foxx).
There's some legend about The Dean having, many years prior, having gotten involved with a card game where, through unfortunate circumstance, his cheating ways were revealed - less unfortunately, for him, in the ensuing shootout, everyone except him ended up dead. And that started his legacy, which apparently he still coasts on. He is, of course, also a cheater at the card games.
I think this card game with The Dean is the entire set-up from the beginning - the bit with Foxx's character, I'm not sure if that was to get enough money to get into this game or just to have some sort of 'tune up,' but it all leads to this game.
Of course, a movie like this is bound to have a bunch of twists. Partners cheating each other; partner sleeping with each other behind the back of the another partner, who is currently in a relationship with one of the two sleepers ... actually, no. It's essentially all just a complete shitshow. Most of these types of movies will at least try to give some sort of backstory as to why we should care about people who are cheating at cards (whether it works or not is another story). I mean, when everyone is cheating, you have to give us a reason to root for one (or more) of the cheaters...
This story - well, we are told, through vague references, about a fall-out that happened between the trio in the past (in Atlantic City, as they seem to think giving the location will make it more real), but that is just used as a passing reference. We don't fully know what happened, other than apparently Tiffany ended up with Charlie and not Vernon - leading to Vernon splitting off, for a while, and feeling betrayed. But, they actually show us more backstory about The Dean than about our leads, which seems like a very odd choice to make.
There also some completely random, irrelevant, pointless backstory - never fully explained why it is happening, or relevant - that apparently involves Tiffany working to trap folks and harvest organs?!, which is completely out of left-field, completely pointless to the plot, and just disappears as a story arc as soon as it appears. This reminds me of the Bollywood movie Suhaag (1994), which at the mid-way point randomly introduced organ harvesting as a plot point - but that movie then leaned in fully and made that the villainy arc. Which, I guess, maybe is the point here - we're supposed to not like Tiffany? But, I mean, I don't think that was an issue anyways - especially not after what happens with Foxx's character.
Initially, with the introduction of the folks that become our leads, it almost seems like maybe they're trying to be all stylish - like Ocean's 11, or The Italian Job, or hell, maybe even The Sting - but that, with the overlaid character introductions, quickly disappears and doesn't show up again. I mean, I know they're not introducing any more leads, but that appears to suggest a level of 'this will be stylish' that we never really see again (other than, I guess, them dressing up nice). The rest of the movie doesn't really feel that way.
My favorite characters were Tony from Austin (again, a very small role) and the soft-spoken enforcer played by (I think) Roger G. Smith. I would much rather have watched a movie focusing on either of those 2 characters. Vernon isn't too bad, I guess, but he just runs with the wrong company - and when he shifts from 'partner' to 'protagonist' is uncertain. The final reveal I think lacks a lot of impact because we don't really have any reason to understand why, or any desire to see, that sort of back-stabbing take place (well, again, maybe with the exception of the random organ harvest thing - which again appears to be the only reason that whole thing was dropped in anyways).
Like, they keep saying shit went down in Atlantic City, but we have no idea what actually happened, other than Vernon apparently taking the money and Tiffany feeling hurt and ending up with Charlie (or whatever it is that Vernon actually saw). A picture is worth 1000 words, but for some reason, this movie decides to just give us a couple dozen words instead. It doesn't work.
It just doesn't work.

A bangle is a beautiful piece of jewellery. It adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to your overall beauty.
Bangles for women even hold cultural and traditional significance. Bangles are the sign of suhaag for a married woman in India.
People perceive that a married woman without bangles on her hand can invite negative energies.
You will find bangles made of ivory, glass, wood, gold, and silver. There are various online jewellery sites where you can find bangles of different materials and designs.
