This #Shoe #sculpture is #Inspired by the extraordinarily #beautiful and #ancient flower, #ProteaRepens. It is found naturally in what is now called #SouthAfrica and #Kenya another members of the #Protea family can be found in what are now called, Guinea, Sudan, Mozambique, Angola, and Uganda.
Throughout history Protea has been used in numerous ways including for firewood, medicine, as a sugar syrup, a cut flower, etc.
YES! Someone from Europe believed they invented it and named it after some deity. The #apartheid group of colonizers call it suikerbossie in their language. I couldn't find the #original name given by the the #AfricanAncestors.

THE TEELEPELTJIES – FRESHLY BAKED BOEREMUSIEK THAT LEAVES YOU ASKING FOR MORE
Life lessons are taught through stories. Without retelling, stories die. It is therefore important that we keep our stories alive by passing them on to our descendants. Especially stories about our heritage. Without them, you lose the sense of who you are and where you are going.
With their latest album, ERFENIS (HERITAGE), Die Teelepeltjies wants to make sure they once again tell you about your origins.
What better way to do it than with twelve freshly baked Boeremusiek hits all together on one album?
Through their diverse and colourful sound, the group will put Boeremusiek back on the radio waves. The fresh and modern touch will without hesitation make you fall in love with your heritage (ERFENIS) and Boeremusiek as a genre.
The group, consisting of Paul Bester, Johnny Volbrecht, Ziaan Hattingh, and Christiaan Ras's unique sound, is further strengthened on this album by superb concertina and banjo playing by guest artsits, Regardt de Bruin and Ernie Bates.
" It's an album that will take you back in time and awaken old memories. You will long for people from earlier in your life, but at the same time your feet will itch to dance, " Christiaan says.
Die Teelepeltjies was formed in 1989 while Christiaan's father taught him all about Boeremusiek. His brother, who played the drums, did not have a drum set of his own at that stage and had to play with two spoons on a paint can. Hence the name Die Teelepeltjies ( The Teaspoons ) .
ERFENIS is the band's ninth album and was produced by Kobie Koen of Vonk Musiek, while Ernie Bates handled the recording. Each song is well thought out and the performance is flawless. This means that each song has enough merit to stand on its own.
Boeremusiek lovers can look forward to some well-known hits such as the KALFIEWALS and SUIKERBOSSIE, with surpris es like a FAK KEURSPEL, WILLEM SE VASTRAP, and VYEJAM SETIES. The group plans to also release four new music videos for the album.
Between the four members, there is enough variation in instrumentation and talent to keep your ears enticed for hours on end . There is something for everyone to enjoy: rhythm guitar, melodica, keyboard, drums, accordion, banjo, and bass guitar, to name but a few instruments.
With ERFENIS, The Teelepeltjies will, without a doubt, get people moving on the dance floors at numerous near-future celebrations. Just like the smell of freshly baked bread triggers your hunger , this album will leave you hungry and asking for more.

Llandudno is a suburb of Cape Town in Western Cape Province in South Africa. It is located only 18 km from the centre of Cape Town and approached by one of the most scenic drives, over Suikerbossie Hill from Hout Bay or in the other direction from Camps Bay, along Victoria Road, Llandudno lies nestled in a private and peaceful cove with one of the most secluded and beautiful beaches in the city. The Twelve Apostles stretch off to one side, whilst Little Lion’s Head and the Karbonkelberg Mountain sweep off in the other direction. The beautiful beach, renowned for its white sands, crisp blue waters and giant boulders is arguably one of the most photogenic in Cape Town.

Llandudno ist ein Vorort von Kapstadt in der Provinz Westkap in Südafrika, nur 18 km vom Zentrum von Kapstadt entfernt und ist über die schönsten Routen erreichbar, über den Suikerbossie Hill von Hout Bay oder in die andere Richtung von Camps Bay, entlang der Victoria Road. Llandudno liegt eingebettet in einer abgeschiedenen und friedlichen Bucht mit einem der abgelegensten und schönsten Strände der Stadt. Auf der einen Seite erstrecken sich die Zwölf Apostel, während sich in der anderen Richtung Little Lion’s Head und der Karbonkelberg erstrecken. Der wunderschöne Strand, der für seinen weißen Sand, das klare blaue Wasser und die riesigen Felsbrocken bekannt ist, ist wohl einer der fotogensten in Kapstadt.

42. Are you okay?
Okay first off, it’s so sweet of you to asks this one 🥺💜
I am somewhat okay, I’m struggling with mental health at the moment but that’s nothing new.
I’m just taking a lot of strain with stuff happening irl which is part of the reason I haven’t been online much.
Plus I am currently self isolating due to close contact with someone who is covid positive who purposefully lied and said they were negative and we only found out like 3 days later after contacting various other people so that’s a bit sucky.
And because of all of this I’m finding it really hard to connect with my f/os and I feel like a fake and as if I’m not really a self shipper. But that’s just my trauma that causes me to have unhealthy patterns of thought that make me doubt myself due to constant gaslighting by my father for most of my life.
Overall I’m okay. but things have honestly been better.
