what about a Genyame AU? I adore Tanyame, but just what if…

👀 a genyame au...... teeheeheehee......... i mean, i feel u. i adore tanyame too, but genyame is just so...... i mean they are literally Like That. i never expected genya to be such a romantic!!!!!!

- okay so genyame would probably work best if they knew each other in their trainee days

- like kyoujurou and gyoumei both decide that actually, it might be better if their apprentices have someone their age to train with! after all, that someone would also likely be their skill level

- yeah so genya isn't quite at ayame's skill level, on account of not being able to use total concentration breathing. but this is also genya pre-puberty (or pre-noticing how cute girls can be) and so he finds himself more jealous of ayame than anything

- you'd think they wouldn't get along, seeing how terribly their first meeting went in fits canon, but actually, despite genya's jealousy, ayame and genya get along really well. it helps that they are both self-aware enough to realise how weak they are, and they're both trying to figure out - in their own ways - how to get stronger

- well, not entirely in their own way. ayame and genya both help each other a lot, offering tips and encouragement. they're both just so off-handed and aloof about it that their shishous don't realise they're friends until they both set off for their final selections

- and u know, speaking of genya's jealousy of ayame, i bet it all gets turned around the day ayame comes back from okutama an orphan. by then, the rumours have spread throughout the ranks of the hashiras, although only a handful of people will realise what that means to anyone - and to ayame in particular

- in this au, i still think that ayame and tanjirou would be close. maybe not quite as close as they are in fits canon, but they can always count on each other as family

- the only major change, i guess, would be that genyame go on their first mission tgt, and ayame is a lil more absent from tanjirou's side during rehabilitation arc; she would be splitting her time between training her friends and hounding genya about his meetings/appointments/sessions with shinobu

- i can see ayame and sanemi's r/ship taking a turn for the worse though. ayame gets a chance to be close to genya, which is all sanemi wants and could have if he wasn't such an idiot about it. ayame also can't stand the fact that sanemi would push away his only living sibling, when she would do anything she could to hold on as tight as she can. i bet things between sanemi and genya can't really escalate bc genya is too busy mediating between his older brother and his, uh, best friend/crush/potential love of his life (?)

- is sanemi's and genya's r/ship better in this au? maaayyybeeeee but only bc ayame and sanemi are actively pissing each other off ig????? sanemi's too busy getting pissed off at ayame to even think of maiming genya so????? it's a win (????)

- would they get together? i'd like to think so. maybe they're both kinda hinting at their feelings in swordsmith village, although they never say it outright, bc genya is a romantic but ayame is an idiot. she is an idiots squad member after all

- i am so sorry for her idiocy

- but i guess they might end up confessing to each other in annoyance at sanemi's station. because genya got hurt and ayame takes her friends getting hurt very seriously

- but seriously, who told him to get involved in tanjirou's and sanemi's spat? he nearly got his eyes gouged out as collateral damage! if ayame hadn't been there, he might have actually lost his eyes! and we all know how important eyes are to ayame

- i think this makes zenitsu and tanjirou the giyuu of this au. seeing as they're stuck in the room while genyame angrily confess their feelings to each other and they can't exactly leave

- don't ask me how the final battle arc goes. i don't want to think about it. just - happy ending for them idc my heart is already breaking

- altho they probably kiss on their lil date for the lunar new year festival - and bonus!!! ayame didn't forget about it!!! she was just too busy convincing herself (and zenitsu and tanjirou) that genya probably didn't mean to ask her out on a date (even though everyone and their crow knows he meant to ask her out on a date gods ayame you're so blind)

Holy shit! I just realized something! In Season 1 Episode 1, there is a scene where John B is reminiscing about his dad in his house, and when he walks by one of the bedrooms he finds JJ in bed with a blonde girl. JJ tells him to beat it and shuts to door. So...is that scene going to be included in the story? Or now, that Maribel is in the picture such a moment is not going to occur? 👀

Let’s just say JJ isn’t a morning person, especially after a night of partying. He likes morning cuddling with Mar because they make him feel better.
