A little question. That maybe was asked before, but how does Gwynfor feels about receiving gifts and does it differ anyhow between different verses?

{{Alright so when I first saw this ask, I was originally thinking that, of course, Gwynfor would love gifts! He is estatic to receive any and all gifts in every verse, etc. But as I was walking home and thinking about everything, especially his covenant the Warriors of Sunlight, I had to more deeply consider the type of gifts he would really appreciate and give out himself.

From the DS3 covenant item for the Warriors of Sunlight:

An ancient talisman depicting a holy symbol bestowed upon the Warriors of Sunlight. Equip to pledge oneself to the Warrior of Sunlight covenant.

Warriors of Sunlight are brilliantly beaming co-operators who place their golden signatures to help those in need, for it is their duty to deliver a great conquest to their summoner.

I have always thought about the Sunbros, especially the emphasis on how they assist “those in need.” And considering beloved Solaire’s willingness to engage in “jolly cooperation” and Lautrec’s willingness to put up with him, it feels like they genuinely try to help and get along with everyone, never assuming the worst of people. Of course, more shrewd and practically minded Warriors might not do this, but the general sentiment I got from the covenant is to celebrate camaraderie (and also fighting skills considering that Gwyn’s Firstborn was a war god).

So Gwynfor’s gifts to others are that of favors, helping with a task or giving something he has noticed someone needing. As a fighter, he strikes me as someone who believes that action speaks louder than words so... him doing favors and giving others something they need is meant to show how highly he thinks of them and appreciates them. 

In his Dark Souls verse, because he is the Heir of Sunlight, he does not shy away from helping someone immediately. It actually makes some people upset that he is so presumptuous, even if he has good intentions and can just... easily help with and give even extravagant items because he is a prince. It takes him a bit of time to learn to chill out on the gifts and stuff, y’know, like actually ask if people want help like Solaire does. He is somewhat the same as a Tarnished because I am planning him to be a high ranking commander of the Dragon Cult. In the Bloodborne and Monster Hunter verses, Gwynfor lives much more modestly and is... literally a normal human man, not a dramatic god prince nor a  magically inclined commander. He still does favors and whatnot, but is less overbearing about it, I think.

When it comes to accepting gifts, again, he will readily accept them. Given his higher status in the DS/ER verses, he is likely used to various sorts of offerings and praises, though. That isn’t to say he won’t appreciate presents, just that he more deeply appreciates something from his friends and family more so than worshippers or passerbys. BB Gwynfor probably appreciates gifts the most because he is honestly trying to lay low and keep to himself in Yharnam, even if he is still his usual friendly self to people he does meet. That would be because he is isolated, away from any friends and family, afraid of being outed and discovered by his father’s forces and brought back home to be punished as a traitor and a deserter. For someone to think of him enough to do something for him, to give him something he might like, means the world to him.}}

A BROTP I have with said character: Orn, and I feel like in some ways it is a mentorship. My personal HC is that Arty is the youngest of Gwyn's knights and that he looks up to Ornstein. They do not see eye to eye on everything, but they rely on one another and have similar views on their duties. On the opposite side of that I think they'd make really good/fun/disastrous drinking buddies. If you add NK to that mix something is going to get broken. Maybe one of them.

Speaking of NK, I think he would also connect with Arty, but mostly for irritating the shit out of Ornstein together (see the question after next lol)

A NOTP I have with said character: I have to say, I can appreciate some Amanus stuff but I'm really not that into it overall. It just depresses me but not in the good way (lol you understand what I mean, it is angst I don't really enjoy).

A random headcanon: I think maybe we talked about this in chat before but I love the idea of him playing pranks on Ornstein constantly (oh yeah, like that one video of the son scaring his dad all the time lmao). NK/Arty Dream Team of irritating the captain.

I think he is also someone who needs to recharge often though and really appreciates alone time or some time in nature. Pretty common HC I think.

General Opinion over said character: He's kind, he's cool, he loves dogs, wish they kept his voice lines in the game that is all 😤

A BROTP I have with said character: See Arty above! Also like Little said for the Gwynevere answer, NK lol. Both of his siblings, really. But I think NK and Gwynevere have more fun banter with one another. As far as Gwyndolin goes I think NK would be somewhat protective while also being really annoyed at their father for being so OVERprotective.

A NOTP I have with said character: Not really into the whole Solaire/NK thing. I get it, or at least, in theory I get it. Just not for me.

A random headcanon: My personal favorite name HC is still Gwynsen while he is in Anor Londo, and once he is deleted from existence, he picks up the name of Faraam from human devotees. I like it because the idea of a god living for thousands of years and having their name transition to something else over time is not so strange I think (going on the theory that they ARE actually gods in a sense - that's a whole can of worms ofc). Also wrt to the first name I'm just big on the Sen is NK theory - I like it a lot, and also I enjoy the idea that the fortress was used as a silver knight training ground sometimes (plus very few people in-game even know it's called Sen's Fortress which fits w/ his name being forgotten). I'd also just find it weird if Gwyn didn't name his firstborn after himself (obviously this isn't saying any name ppl use for him is wrong bc we legitimately don't know [even though I think a lot of ppl agree that Faraam IS the mostly likely]. Still, Gwynsen/Sen is just my fav). Ty for letting me ramble about that.

General Opinion over said character: Not sure if he is my favorite boss across the series, but he's definitely my favorite non-human character. I find his backstory really fascinating and parts of it are strangely relatable in unfortunate/stupid ways. I try to sunbro for him at least once a week bc I really do enjoy that fight (at least the second half) and I don't want to get rusty on it (I am rusty on it anyway - you fight any other thing ever and the minute you go back to NK you forget how to deal w/ delayed attacks gdi) 😭

Vulpes Inculta (I'm so sorry everyone lol) from Fallout: New Vegas. One of the smartest men in the Mojave, his loyalty to his Lord is fascinating and he's definitely not afraid to follow his orders. There's something admirable about how twisted he seems to be with his plans, from Nipton to Camp Searchlight, by finding the specific weak spots in the enemy lines and taking advantage of them. I wish he had a more prominent role in the game itself, but I like what we already see as well lol.

Geralt from The Witcher 3 (btw I'm finishing the main story just now and trying to avoid spoilers ;-;). He's such a charming and empathetic person towards his friends and the ones he cares about. He's so respectful of everyone too and I love his witty humor lol.

Solaire from Dark Souls. The best sunbro that could have ever graced the land of Lordran with his existence, his jolly cooperation and how excited he is about helping you in battle if needed! Too bad we can't have nice things in Dark Souls, right? ;-; Watching him go hollow throughout our journey and finding him completely broken at the end, it just... breaks me every single time (yeah you can save him by doing a special trick, but if it's your first playthrough he's most likely just screwed :( ).

Do you think Kimetsu ni Yaiba is nearing its end? It feels like they are part of the final battle?? Maybe it feels so quick because i binged it all in one day XD What are your thoughts?

It does certainly feel like it, Upper Moons are dying off 1 by 1 and almost everyone important is involved in this battle. If this did end up being the last arc, I wouldn’t be surprised.

However, there are some things that make me hesitant to say for sure that this is ending. First off, Nezuko isn’t present at this battle (I think she’s still working on becoming human with Urokodaki?) Seems a little weird having a final arc that doesn’t involve her, especially when the narration stated that the battles would be centered around her and bloodier than ever once Muzan found out about her walking in the sun.

Second, Nakime is present in this battle. It’s a very obvious way to end the battle if she dies, since her mansion magic would go away and everyone might end up apart from each other. So Gotouge has the power to end this arc whenever she wants by killing off Nakime, leaving the possibility of further arcs open.

Third, Muzan’s cocoon state. I’m assuming he’s fighting against Tamayo’s medicine in there. But I also think he’s using it to ‘evolve’ into a more powerful form, which could in itself be another entire arc. I think potentially he could end up killing Tamayo, escaping, and going after Nezuko as the end of this arc (if it’s not the last).

Fourth, it feels like it’d be a bad choice to end the manga now that the anime has just begun and has been getting popular. I’m all for Gotouge ending the manga when she wants to, but best case scenario would be to continue KnY in WSJ alongside further potential seasons.

However, it does seem like we are running out of antagonists to fight, with all the UMs dying. We only have Muzan, Kokushibou, and Nakime left, and I still don’t know if Gyokko has been replaced yet. IMO Nakime is pretty much guaranteed to die this arc to end it (operating on the assumption that this is not the last arc). Kokushibou could potentially end up withdrawing with Muzan to serve as the last 2 final bosses, with half the hunters fighting Kokushibou and half the hunters fighting Muzan. If Kokushibou does end up dying this arc, I feel like he’ll take at least Rock and Wind with him, maybe more. And we may get to see some of his history with sunbro and Muzan as a dying flashback. Perhaps Muzan will cook up a new batch of antagonists, but they won’t have as much impact as the UMs who’ve been around for quite a while.

I also don’t think there’s too many loose ends to tie up. We’ve answered the question of Inosuke’s backstory, Kaigaku, Shinobu’s revenge, and getting pretty close to the Shinazugawa brothers reconciling. We haven’t gotten Iguro’s backstory or the history of sunbro yet, but those could potentially be answered in this arc as well. 

I do feel the pace has been ramping up overall, personally Kaigaku’s and Douma’s fights were a little too fast for my liking, but reading it all in one day definitely makes it feel very quick. I kinda miss the comfy training arcs, but the battles are also really, really good. And personally I really, really hope it’s not the last arc because I love all the characters and I want to see more of them forever and ever. I want to see more Kimetsu gakuen. I want to know more about the demon hunter organization and former pillars. I want to see the characters after a timeskip. I want to see more funny extras. I want more potato faces. I want

1. Dark Souls: Solaire. Anyone who's played this game knows why. Solaire. Our Sunbro. The man who chases his dreams who has a story that parallels your own. If only I could be so gloriously incandescent!

2. Warcraft: Arthas/Illidan. Look I'm not choosing between the two of them. Arthas and Illidan have some of the most intriguing stories in wow. They both faced horrible threats, turned to dark powers... and from their the paths split. I love both of them even if their stories are at an end. (Also shoutout to Sylvanas I'm sorry for BFA doing you like that.)

3. Fallout: Tough choice but... I may actually go with The Burned Man. Someone you hear about throughout the base game... and then you meet the man himself. Sure in his belief, constantly racking ammo..... and like that voice holy heck dont get me started as that voice.

4. Fire Emblem: Do I have too choose? Hmmm gonna go with... Three way tie between Lyon/Berkut/Edelgard. Who I shall now call #empirekids

(I think I had fractured it somehow, but it was loooong ago.) But some time later, a new tooth grew there even if it was not a baby tooth that they removed. My dentist was so confused because there was supposed to be a gap there but there wasn’t??? So they took an X-ray and realized a wisdom tooth had migrated to the old tooth’s spot and it just perfectly aligned there. It was amazing and I still love the confusion in the dentist’s voice when she compared my teeth to the records. xD y - your favorite food: Sushi is one. And my grandma’s veggie stew. My Top 5 Favourite Dark Souls 3 Bosses.

( Boi lemme tell you why I love this game: BOSSES, BITCH. BOSSES. LEMME TELL YOU MY FAVOURITES. The list starts at #5 and goes down from there.)

#5: The Abyss Watchers. 

FRIENDS LEMME TELL YOU ABOUT THESE GUYS. The Abyss Watchers boss fight is kinda like a mix between Artorias and Lady Maria, the latter being present in the flame AoEs during the second phase, and the former being present in ALL OF IT CAUSE GOD DAMN THE UNPREDICTABILITY SOMETIMES SHIT. It’s interesting too, because 20 seconds in you get ganked by a second Watcher, but a bit after that, you get a red-eyes Watcher that helps you. He hurts you, though, so watch that ass. First phase is p easy, you just dodge, stab the main Watcher and dodge again. Let the red-eyes deal with the second guy. Second phase tho, HOOOO BOY. The main Watcher loses his buddy, and so do you, which means it’s you and him 1V1. He get’s a bit more aggressive, gains fire to some of his attacks and gets a few new attacks too. The only gripe I got is the fight is pretty short because the health-pool is pretty low. 

#4: The Twin Princes.

MMMK. MMMK. My salt about Lorian’s FUCKING TELEPORT RNG aside, this boss fight is pretty fucking neato. The first phase is pretty cool, despite the FUCKING TELEPORTS, and Lorian has overall average windup speeds so DODGE FER DAYS, DARD noIcantriposteshutup. But the second phase, HOOOOOO BOY. Lothric jumps on Lorian’s back like a fucking spider monkey and starts shooting at you with homing spells while Lorian is STILL JUMPING AROUND TRYNA STAB YOUR ASS. ANNNDDD Lothric’ll pick his brother up if you kill him, so focus that little bastard first. Or, y’know, bring a friend. I did. One thing I don’t like is the RNG. RNG is kind of a big thing in this fight, mainly because you could have a docile Lorian that only takes stabs at you one fight and  a very TELE-HAPPY CHAPPY that swings like a fucking mad-man in the next one.

#3: Champion Gundyr.

This ain’t your wimpy tutorial Gundyr, no. This is Champion Gundyr, king of STUNLOCKING YOU TO DEATH. My saltiness aside, I love Champion Gundyr. Iudex Gundyr was a good boss to start the game with, and I found myself thinking that if they ramped up his aggressiveness, took out that shitty transformation and threw in more attacks, he’d be up there with some of the hardest bosses like Flamelurker, Manus and Artorias. As a guy who basically butt-rushes bosses, runs away and heals, Gundyr fucks me around to no end with his bullshit 180 run-spin-stabby thing. The fight’s worth it though, because I love his halberd and his set. Also, Gundyr’s set is what I use for my GiantDad build. Wrekin’ dem filthy casuls with dat +10 CHAOS BASS CANNON.

#2:  Dragonslayer Armour.

Ah, the Dragonslayer Armour. Boy, did I love this fight. Not because of the mechanics or whatever, just because of lore implications and a few personal head-canons. His big-ass axe is easy to dodge, I mean the fucker winds up forever. The shield bashes tho, thems a bit harder because they’re a hell of a lot faster. And then we got his buddy shooting flame spooge at you from afar, but that’s also pretty easy to dodge. I’ve always loved the Dragonslayer set ever since Dunkstein in the OG Dark Souls, and while the fights with the Old Dragonslayer and the Armour are a bit lacking in comparison, I always perk up when I reach them because I love fighting them. Also because I sing a little jingle. HELLO ORSTEIN MY OLD FRIEND I’VE COME TO STAB YOU TO DEATH AGAIN.

#1: The Nameless King.

OHHHHH BOY THIS BOSS HOLY FUCKING SHIT. I brought one of my Sunbros to this fight with me because I’m a little bitch, and we got wreked so many times. This boss is the hardest boss in DS3. He’s optional, so that evens it out I guess??? All that aside, he’s an absolute fucking epic challenge. He starts out RIDING A FUCKING DRAGON that breathes fire at you and lets his rider stab the mcfuck out of you from like ages away. 

But the real fight don’t start until phase two. HOOOOO BOY PHASE TWO. After you kill the dragon, the King goes full SUPER-SAIYAN and powers the fuck up after you kill his buddy. He hits you like a fucking truck, and you will need to heal if he hits you. Upside, his windups are easy to notice, and you can dodge them pretty easily. 

BUT THE MAIN REASON I LOVE THIS FUCKING FIGHT IS BECAUSE OF THE DAMNED LORE. THIS BASTARD IS GWYN’S FIRSTBORN SON. AS IN THE RING OF THE SUN’S FIRSTBORN WAS HIS.

THIS FUCKER LEFT HIS ENTIRE LIFE BEHIND BECAUSE DRAGONS WERE SICK AS FUCK. WHEN I FIRST FOUND OUT WHO HE WAS, I FUCKING FLIPPED MAN. THE LORE NERD IN ME SPOOGED FOR DAYS, MANG LIKE UGGGGHHH.

But yes those are my favourite Dark Souls 3 bosses. Thank for reading.

Gonna answer these in reverse order since that’s how they came in. Yes they did a great job with Shinobu, I love how the scene dissolved into butterflies, and her OST was amazing (fuck, everyone’s OST is amazing). And also they animated her doing a little roll after she strikes and it looks so swift!

And yeah, shrinking Nezuko will be really cute. She can kinda change her size at will, in the first episode she grows bigger when attacking Tanjirou and shrinks back down when Giyuu attacks her. And then she does shrink to get into the basket/box later. What I can’t wait for is when she grows into her badass form during the red light district arc!

I think if Tanjirou becomes a pillar, he’d likely be taking Rengoku’s place. But Giyuu is already the water pillar (and I doubt he’s gonna croak), plus Tanjirou said before that he wasn’t compatible enough with the Breath of Water to be a true master. I would say ‘Fire Pillar’ isn’t really accurate enough since there isn’t really a ‘Breath of Fire’, and it’s different from Rengoku’s ‘Breath of Flames’. Sun Pillar is probably the most accurate based on his techniques. It kinda hinges on how similar the Dance of the Fire God is to the Breath of the Sun. From what I can tell, sunbro used the original ‘Breath of the Sun’, and I think his techniques got passed down Sumiyoshi’s family as dance techniques that mimicked fighting. So Dance of the Fire God might be a slightly watered-down version? But they seem to have the power of the original breath nevertheless.
