Today was one of the most meaningful days in my life.

The day was so meaningful, it’s difficult for me to write about it.

Has that ever happened to you?

Do you ever have a feeling so deep in your heart, any word you try to use to describe it seems shallow?

That is me now.

So let me start as simply as I can.

Albert Einstein once said, “Everything should be made as simple as possible. But not simpler.”

So here it goes.

I know.

It’s one of the simplest things we can say.

And we say it many times during a day.

Or we should.

But when we say it with sincerity, from the heart, it can be as beautiful as a sunflower and as warm as the Mississippi Delta summer sun.

Today I knelt down at the base of a statue of you.

You’re my hero.

I closed my eyes and imagined sitting with you at a simple wooden table in a humble country home, listening to you tell me stories about how nobody could turn you around and how you turned the people and places around you to the beloved community.

I sat in the courtroom where Roy Bryant and J.W. Milan were acquitted by a jury of 12 white men in less than an hour of the charge of the murder of 14 year old Emmett Till, a lynching to which they confessed to Look Magazine several months after the trial.

Thank you to all of the people in that community who sat together face to face and heart to heart to write an apology for that lynching and injustice that happened 67 years.

Thank you Black women who took the lead to begin that process of hard conversations about race and good work of repentance and reconciliation.

The video she did dancing to Blackpink's Shutdown is her most recent video she posted on the group account, and it caught a lot of attention.

Sunny has a voice that people love and can't stop listening too. She is quite soft spoken, but that doesn't stop people from absorbing every word. Being in a group as loud as Stray Kids, she still manages to make herself heard, especially when it's random statements or jokes that she's sharing.

"Hold still, nigga I don't want yellow nail polish all over me!" (M/N) sucked their teeth, quickly moving their hand holding the dripping brush from the others hand. "Why you want yellow anyway?"

Happy birthday, Fannie Lou Hamer! (October 6, 1917)

A vital force in the Civil Rights Movement, Fannie Lou Hamer was one of the most prominent black women to occupy a leading role in the movement. An organizer of the Freedom Summer in her native Mississippi, Hamer helped to found the National Women’s Political Caucus, and co-founded the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, leading its delegation to the 1964 Democratic National Convention in opposition to the segregationist state party delegation. Continuing in her activism despite her ailing health, Hamer would help found an agricultural cooperative called Freedom Farm in Sunflower County, Mississippi, and run for elected office a number of times before her death in 1977.

Will solace headcanons

He made Drew pierce his ears. He he has whole dam collection of earrings: small little black ones that all guys with earrings seem to have, small hoops that he stole from Lou Ellen, Rachel also got him a pair of disk studs that she painted sunflowers on. Triangle rainbow earrings, and his absolute favourite gold drop earrings with sunburst charms that Nico gave him :)

I also see him with either a helix or industrial piercing. Or both! Both work!

He’s left handed, Idk how to explain this one, it just feels right (Left??)

Other then the Sun tattoo on his chest (which he bribed Hermes cabin for btw), he gave himself a few stick ‘n’ pokes of a smiley face on his left hand, and a pair of crossed arrows under the inside of his left elbow (in memory of his fallen siblings).

He has anxiety, he got diagnosis when he was 13 and started taking meds for it, he also has ptsd (to absolutely no one’s surprise) and bipolar II.

He definitely got at least a few of his tattoos and/or piercings during an episode of hypomania.

He loves cats! I picture him with an emotional support cat, a Persian cat probably named something real pretentious like Mercedes or something real dumb like pickle. There is no in between.

I dony know why it’s such a nitpick but anyway for any non rottmnt watchers, yoshi is also refered by lou jitsu bc that was his staged name during his actor and nexus champion era. I prefer calling him yoshi because it just feels much more personal.. His actual name is like his true self than his celebrity sona. The way I started calling him Yoshi in 4 months of being together felt so nice say coming from my mouth. Like sparks coming out. And Jotto is kinda of the perfect girlboss song, like it's empowering but not agressive or loud;

It's a big "fuck you" pretty much and I think not only he would enjoy how it sounds, I think he would like the message as well;

I think his favourite part would be the last chorus and the outro.

Okay you got me, I'm also a big RINI girl;

And I don't really know what exactly Jungwon likes, like I know some songs he has recommended but I can't narrow it down to a specific genre or mood (which is actually a good thing);

I think this fits Niki, he strikes me as someone who enjoys a lot of R&B/Soul so here it is;

This is a softer version of the genre however Ama DELIVERS to say the least;

It's a song for when Niki is feeling calm or tired or just thinkig about things;

In my head him and this song makes sense okay.

Hmmm AU wise, not entirely? Raph and Mona raising their sons is the main focus, alongside Lou and Venus.

Generally speaking though I do head-canon that Leo does adopt ( Shiori; a sunflower/cuttlefish mutant) and that Lita is a Renetangelo kid!

Edit: I FORGOT DONNIE— I see him being a father tule to an android or sentient AI rather than a bio/adopted kid. Gotta think more on him.
