But, to Jin Woo's second shock, none of the people present around the dinner table demonstrated any degree of surprise at your actions. Your clan leader sighed in exasperation, as if he were simply used to this. Only Jin Woo's face carried his own feelings of bewilderment as you blinked your eyes at him, and offered him another unbothered smile.

The type of boyfriend who takes you out on study dates. As much as he loves you being lazy and unproductive, Jinwoo prefers gently pushing you to have decent grades, but really, it's all just an excuse to have you spend more time with him.

If he wants to spend time with you, he would just make various excuse to have you come out of your home just like,

"My clothes are too small, help me pick out?" Instead, he buys you clothes as you help him pick outfits that suit him. "I'm hungry, so let's go out." He just wants to bring you to delicious restaurants so you can eat a lot and be a little chubbier. He loves you thicker and plumper after all. "My phone broke down so lets go to the mall after school" He does buy one for himself but he also gets one for you no matter how new your current phone is.

Cuddles? Oh he definitely is the touchy type behind closed doors. You could be peacefully passing by him to fetch your charger and then all of the sudden his strong arm would yank you out of balance and immediately tuck you into his embrace. Does he move? Nope. Brat even falls asleep in an instant just so you really cant get out of his hold.

Well to be fair, he is much more bearable unlike in the mornings where he really traps you in his hold. He would be sprawled around in bed, his strong arm wrapped around your waist, keeping you there no matter how much you complain and whine that you want to get up. He will, however, get up once you mention you are hungry. He picks you up sleepily and proceeds to make you both breakfast despite the fact that he is carrying you. Clingy boyfriends will be clingy boyfriends.

Jinwoo is a relatively quiet person, he prefers listening to you ramble around. While you babble on and on, he sneakily gives his hand to you so you can play with it. Poke his palms, trace his scars, and Jinwoo will close his eyes sweetly while relaxing into your playful fidgeting.

When he is feeling a little more playful, Jinwoo would suddenly wrap you in a blanket and turn you into a burrito so he could cuddle you tighter.

Jinwoo absolutely loves pampering you. Whether it'd be with his playful touches, his teasing, or him cooking your favourite meals— He does his best to show you how much he loves you.

But of course, Jinwoo has his own clingier side. Like the fact that he often leans down to you and opens his mouth lazily so you can feed him. He also adores resting on your lap and having his head snuggled up on your tummy whilst you fiddle around with his fluffy black hair.

Most people would call him a black cat from the way he carries himself. But you yourself know that he is a puppy in disguise. Always following you around like a tail, seeking your pokes and touches. Looking for playfulness.

Su-ho being that clingy, protective mama's boy.

Yeah, he shares his looks with his father, the will to fight with no hesitation, but do you know what else? His love towards his mother. Su-ho shares the same heart as Hae-in. He loves both of his parents more than the entire world!

But the thought of Su-ho being too attached to his mom is so adorable 🥰

He would cling to her leg whenever she's washing the dishes and babble just to get her attention or repeatedly say "mama", so when Hae-in looks down, he would just beam at her. The process happens every day and Hae-in never gets tired of it. And even when Jin-woo is home, Su-ho will still try to get his mother's attention— like, if Jin-woo and Hae-in are cuddled in the couch, Su-ho will climb up to their laps and squeeze himself between them until he's perfectly snuggled in his mom.

The protective part comes in after Jin-woo said "take care of mama for me 😊" to him and Su-ho takes it seriously. Whenever Hae-in and him are at the park, Su-ho will hold her hand with both of his hands and looks sharply at the people around them, acting like some bodyguard even though the shadows are practically with them, but Su-ho just wants to protect his mother.

Other kids will explore, and Su-ho does too, but it won't be long until he's back to Hae-in. This never goes away as he grows. I'm sure Su-ho had taken a long time hugging Hae-in before he enters the daycare — he hates being separated from his parents — but he knows the catch will be worth it. Hae-in usually picks him up after she's done from work, so Su-ho will immediately rush and jumps into her arms because he missed her.

"Calm down, we haven't seen each other in a few hours, not days." Hae-in teases him.

Su-ho will always pout at the reply while still being attached to his mother's neck to the point Hae-in had to carry him herself. Some mothers are even jealous because their children aren't openly affectionate with them in public as they grow.

Deep inside, Hae-in feels lucky. She will never get tired of her son fighting for her attention and cuddling her when she's supposed to be the one to initiate it. Su-ho will rush to her comfort every time he feels scared. He makes her laugh just like his father. Su-ho is a mama's boy and he's proud of it.

It was a warm day at South-Korea, which made you wake up with an energetic smile one your face. It was a Thursday morning, in which you specifically took the day off for a date with your lover, specifically after he canceled the last two because of work. You quickly hopped off the bed as you went to complete your morning routine.

As soon as you finished cleaning yourself, you went downstairs to eat something, as you pulled out your cellphone realizing you had a message in it.

Good morning… I’m sorry but I’ll be out of contact for the day, I know we had a date planned and all but the asociation wants me to complete some things. See you later.

You sighed as you looked at the message, looking up to the roof as you just accepted the fact. Your boyfriend, Sung Jin-Woo was Korea’s tenth S-rank hunter, so it was normal for him to be busy, almost to the point it bothered you. You just wished he at least took a day off… Or even take you to work with him! You were an A-rank healer, so it was only rational he could use your help… Right?

He wasn’t home much time and when he was, he arrived at almost midnight and left at early hours of the morning with you still asleep. You understood that, but you realized you needed to go out a bit and maybe have a bit of fun.

You then finished your breakfast and washed the dishes, but an unexpected message stopped you in your tracks. Apparently a friend group of yours was going out to eat and have a nice day off. Again? It was the fourth time in the last two weeks… Well, you didn’t have anything else to do, so you quickly agreed, sending back a message and going up to your room once again.

After you changed and grabbed whatever you needed, you got out of your house, walking towards a park near your home, in which your friend were waiting for you.

Just as that, a fun day began. You quickly forgot about your date with Jin-Woo’s sudden cancelling as you spent quality time with your friends, a small group of two girls, three guys and you.

You smiled and greeted them, as you guys went out to dinner and later hit a bar, drinking together to wash out some stress.

By your lover’s side, he was clearing some A-Rank gates by himself as always, ocassionally taking a bit of time to peek into the eyes of the soldiers stored in your shadow, looking at how you were laughing alongside your friends, making him frown a bit.

After some hours, almost at 4pm, he found himself in a bit of a problem. He entered the supposedly ‘last gate of the day’, which turned out to be a red gate, so he ended up trapped inside for what he felt like five days, but they were just five hours on the real world, which didn’t tire him, but frustrated him because every time he peeked into his shadows, he saw you alongside one of your friends, laughing together and drinking, which made his blood boil in jealousy.

It was now almost 10pm, Jin-Woo was tiredly walking down the stairs of the association’s main office as he finished having a talk with president Go Gun-Hee after clearing the red portal.

He seemed to be a bit bothered by the day, his clothes a bit torn and a bothered expression. He then thought about you and pulled out his cellphone to text you, feeling too tired to peek into his shadows.

Hey love… I just finished the thing I told you about… See you at home. ❤️

He then walked towards your shared home, as you guys moved in together after a few years of dating. When he arrived, he opened the door, expecting a quick and exaggerate welcome by you as always happened, but he was greeted by silence and off lights.

“Hey… Are you here…?” He said in a high-enough voice, but he didn’t recieve an answer, he then went up to your shared room to still find no trace of you.

He sighed, once again using his power to see where you were at despite how tired he was.

He saw a rather odd sight for him. He noticed a park and you were with your usual friend group. But what startled him a bit was that you were resting your head on one of your friend’s shoulder, exactly the one he trusted the least. But even worse, your face was a bit too red.

He clutched his fist a bit as he stood up again, activating his skill to change places with his shadow soldier, appearing out of thin air in front of you and your friends, leaving most of them stunned as one of the strongest hunters suddenly appeared in front of them.

“I’m sorry but I’ll take her now.” He coldly said as he took a hold of your shoulder angrily, as he walked away from your group without even letting you reply.

“H-hey..! W-what’s up with you..?” You said, as you were walking a bit weirdly, but he didn’t pay attention to that. After some minutes, he stopped walking, holding you by your shoulders in front of him as he looked at your eyes.

“I know I’ve been out of home lately, but really? Cheating on me now?” He coldly asked as you were quickly shocked by his accusation, making you look at him in the eyes in pure confusion.

“What the- Sarang, did you really think that…?” You quickly laughed at his angry and serious expression, getting closer to him and pinning him to the nearest wall with the small amount of strength your dizzy self had left, leaning in enough to reach his lips, but without touching them.

“I was just out with my friends, Jin-Woo! Did you really worry that much about me~?” You teased as your cheeks were still pinkish. “Explain why you were blushing around (f/n).” He said sternly as you laughed again at his remarks.

“I wasn’t blushing, dummy.~ I may have drank a bit too much though… Maybe that made my cheeks heat up a bit.” You explained as you gave him a peck on the lips, as you looked at him.

“You’re still going to compensate me for this. Come on.” He smirked a bit as he activated one of his skills, lifting you up without even touching you as he flipped your positions around, now pinning you down to the wall and kissing you.

“Don’t ever make me worry like that again.” He demanded as you nodded, with him smirking at your currently flustered state, taking you by your wrist as he started walking, dragging you around with him. “We’re going home, and you aren’t complaining.”

You smiled a bit as you followed him around, following him towards you shared home. When you both entered, he shut the door down behind him, walking you up to the bedroom and laying down on the bed by your side.

You being as intoxicated as you were, quickly wrapped your arms around his waist, looking at him with a tiny smile as his cheeks flushed a bit at the current sight of you. “Don’t look at me like that…” He said as he deviated his sight from you, making you think he was mad at you.

“Huh? Nah, I won’t.~ Don’t you want me to at least hold you in the one time we’re home together~?” You asked as he couldn’t deny it, but he had to maintain himself composed to maybe ‘teach you a lesson’.

“Heyy..~ I’m talking to you, Sarang…” You muttered as he pulled out his phone, quickly going through sone texts as he ignored you. Oh, the silent treatment now, huh?

You tried to get him to at least look at you, shaking your hand lazily in front of his eyes to try and catch his attention, but it didn’t work leaving you to try like that for a long time.

“Come on… Don’t give me that now..! I promise I’ll tell you next time I go out… You said you’d be out of contact for the day so I thought it’d be the same if I didn’t text it to you..” You defended yourself, admitting your flaw after almost 20 minutes, which made him sigh, looking down at you with a smirk and tossing his phone out of reach.

It was hard. It was very hard.

To stand in front of the woman he once loved with all of his heart and bid her a silent goodbye was something Jin Woo did not want to do. But the spark he once felt in his heart was gone. When he saw you, he no longer felt those ferocious butterflies dancing in his stomach, nor did his heart skip a beat as it once did.

He found your conversations annoying, your laugh a bit irritating, and your worrying about him redundant. He started making excuses not to see you. Raids with Cha Hae In became too frequent, both as a way to avoid meeting you and as a way for Jin Woo to feel his heart race again.

Looking back on it all now, Jin Woo bitterly realized that he has mistaken the thrill of adventure for the ecstasy of love.

Hae In understood Jin Woo. She didn't nag him all the time about dangerous gates and fatal monsters, but encouraged him to join her raids instead. She didn't try to pull him away from being a hunter but emphasized his role even more.

So Jin Woo said goodbye. He watched your face fall, all color draining from your once-rosy cheeks. Your hand, affectionally holding Jin Woo's own, dropped limply to your side. The passing wind gently raffled your black dress, the one Jin Woo always said he liked, and you felt your world breaking around you. It was all over.

You loved Jin Woo. You loved him so much that you finally let him go. If he felt suffocated by our side, you would willingly choke yourself to fill his lungs with air.

Jin Woo offered to remain friends, but the uncomfortable look on his face whispered something else to you. So you nodded and smiled. Then you never contacted him again.

You chose to remove yourself from his sight in hopes you would forget. But you didn't. Not when half a year has passed by. Not when Jin Woo's calls began to slowly flood your phone a year later.

Was it regret that made him turn up at your doorsteps, begging you to let him see you for even a moment?

So with a heavy heart, he disappeared again, and returned with a bouquet of flowers. The flowers you always talked about. The flowers that made you smile so radiantly.
