Heard of Jim Carrey Eggman ? What about Jack Black Bowser ? Because it's a real thing. Funny thing, I was watching the direct with a friend, when Myamoto started to show the casting, my friend jokingly said "Imagine : Jack Black as Bowser.". The second after that, Jack Black as Bowser. Perfect timing it was awesome. This movie has at least two thing I love, Jack Black, and reference to Wrecking Crew. Can't wait to see a trailer ! Super Mario (c) Nintendo Artwork made by me. My Problem with Chris Pratt voicing Mario

a serious post, on my shit blog? more likely than you think.

but anyway, with the cast of the Mario animated movie being released, the internet has gone wild over the reveal that...the less than holy Chris Pratt will be taking the mount as Mario.

and I have more than a few words to say about that fact.

Starting with the fact that the man who has voiced Mario for almost 3 decades is IN this movie, and he was not given the role of Mario. I, personally find that beyond disrespectful. Charles Martinet has been the voice of Mario, Luigi, Wario and Waluigi but they decide to give that role, that role made famous by Martinet, and gave it to your cookie cutter famous actor.

now I'm not sure when Pratt or Martinet joined the project, but if Martinet was brought on first before Pratt, then that makes it worse in my eyes. why go through the effort to bring on the original voice actor if you're not going to cast him as the character he's given 30 years of his life to?

Placing Well known actors in your animated movie will not guarantee quality. some actors are not made to both physically act and voice act. I'm almost certain that Chris Pratt will not embody the Mario that everyone will expect to see.

Am I making a big deal out of a simple game adaptation movie? yes, I am, but this is something I am passionate about and it's something I will speak on.
