When fate (with some help from Cat Grant) casts them into the same orbit they find themselves completely off-script, because while everyone knows about the sins of the father, they're somewhat less clear about the sins of one’s siblings. Throw into that an audience hungry for stories at the expense of fact, a showrunner with a plan nobody saw coming, and a co-star who steadfastly refuses to keep it in his pants, and you’ve got a tale so dramatic even the protagonists have noticed. or the one where they’re both actresses with a surprising amount of baggage for two people who haven’t met yet.

One day, two women meet on the subway. The recently dumped Lena is recovering from a broken heart, and Kara is grappling with the open-ish relationship she has with her long-distance boyfriend. They decide that they’re going to become friends. The kind of friends who also have totally casual, no-strings-attached, nobody’s-catching-feelings sex. What could go wrong? As Alex puts it: “Kara. This is the dumbest thing you’ve ever done. And I’m including the time that you set fire to your own hair and nearly burned the house down trying to do some spell you found on MySpace to make Troy Bolton materialize in real life and marry you.” Or: Lena and Kara go around New York City eating food and banging each other until their feelings eat away at them, and Alex tries not to have an aneurysm about it.

So so so well written. Gets pretty angsty but the payoff is so worth it. Lots of feelings and fun and fluff too. And very VERY good smut. A MUST read!

The Luthor Family by MyCatIsMyEditor

Following Lex’s death Lena finds herself guardian to the four year old nephew she never knew existed. She also finds herself in need of help. Who better to help her than her best friend and National City’s favourite Kryptonian. It’s just a little awkward that her nephew is scared of Supergirl. OR Kara and Lena raising Lex’s son while slowly getting together with a bunch of cute fluff and some angst thrown in as they work together to be the best parents possible to a scared little boy.

Digs a lot into the issues with fostering a child who was neglected and abused. But its very well done and there's a lot of fluff too. Kara and Lena slip into the parent role very well. But of course this whoe situation digs up issues of theirs too. They build a wonderful family and support net and finally get to be so so happy with everyone at their side.

I never understood why Supergirl had to come back. I mean, come on. She was perfectly fine on Argo City, with the other people, so why did she have to come and ruin what was once my kingdom? And don’t even get me started on Lena’s downfall. From CEO to the CEO of toddlers, she is an outright disappointment when it comes to being a LUTHOR!

Immediately, when reading this fic -- you notice something between Supergirl, sorry, Kara and my daughter. Lena never stood a chance when it comes to forgiving Supergirl --- the fool...

Second chapter shows you just how foolish my daughter, if you consider her such, can be. For the shits and giggles, I will be referring to her as this for the remainder of the review. In my defense, before you take me for a fool: It’ll annoy her endlessly. That’s worth it.

Pathetic.

hello finally published my first ever fic :)) i wrote a supercorp banana fish au fic bc i need therapy (and also the concept wouldn’t get out of my head)!!! here’s the summary:

Title: Somewhere In These Eyes

Lena Luthor is the young and fearless gang leader who was taken in as a child by Talia Al Ghul, a powerful woman involved in the dangerous underworld of drugs. Lena has been groomed by Talia to be her heir, but when a new drug called ‘Kryptonite’ with mysterious effects makes it’s way into the streets, Lena's life is thrown into turmoil when it brings us back to her dark past.

Meanwhile, Kara Danvers is a young journalist new to National City, searching for meaning and purpose in her life. Her sister, Alex, moves into the bustling city as Kara tags along while she tries to make sense of her past. When she decides to write an article on the city's street gangs, she crosses paths with Lena and soon finds herself caught up in a world of violence and intrigue.

Lena falls deeper into the cruel world she was born in, but now Kara’s here to pull her out of it. Together they work to unravel Lena’s past and it’s connection to ‘Kryptonite’.

Will their love be enough to save each other from the dangers that lurk, or will they fall victim to the ruthless world they've entered?

And that's saying something since i have not been able to settle on one book /fic before getting distracted. It's a pity i can not afford to become a patreon due to the currency difference between SA and the US)

I normally only read completed fics as i had my soul crushed with some good fics that were discontinued in the past but could not wait to read this one anymore.

Not that K2 is the main factor in her hours, no she and her team make revolutionary medical technology for Luthor Corp. She's there because she loves her job, not because sometimes K2 hugs her and it makes her crushing loneliness disappear for a moment.

Kara Zor-El was kidnapped by Lex Luthor when she first landed on Earth and has been kept hidden from the world disguised as a robot ever since. It's not so bad though, his sister found her and brought her to work with her and her team and despite believing she's a robot they treat her as one of their own. It's a little awkward that she has a teeny tiny crush on Lena and Lena thinks she's a robot. But Kara can deal with that. It's not like Lena could do anything even if she did know Kara was a person, Lex made sure of that.

Such an interesting and creative concept and its done so so so well. There's longing and loneliness and connection, fluff and sadness. And a happy ending. (Also pls yall read her other stuff, shes great!)

When Kara and Lena left on their weekend trip to Vegas the plan was to spend a few days having fun and posting pictures for Catco Travel to keep Andrea off Kara's back. The plan most definitely didn't include getting drunk and getting married. It also didn't include consumating said marriage and waking up the next morning with their memories intact... mostly.

So what are two best friends to do but get a quick divorce and pretend they didn't have sex or actually mean it when they said they loved each other. Finding out they can't get a quick divorce because of some poor wording in a clause of the Alien Amnesty Act really doesn't help with this new plan.

Its funny and fun and a bit salacious. They are absolutely atrociously insufferable about it. Then they get a little dumb about it for a hot second. Gay hi-jinks and shenanigans of the 'just friends' variety ensue. A little good smut. Lex is being his usual charming self about this - so some badass action too.

I have 2 Lena centric Supercorp fics for you that I have not recced before. Both are quite angsty and intense and great fics. (Read the tags and warnings). And more below.

1) In this one Lena is a vigilante (Kara can no longer be Supergirl), she gets beaten up quite a bit and the fic is definitely angsty and violent. The fic has not been updated in a while and as far as I remember the most recent chapter is nowhere near a happy ending.

totally random question but do you read supercorp fics? and if yes, which ones are your favorites?

i absolutely read supercorp fics! i've been devouring ao3 basically since i finished the show. here are a few of my faves: people will say we're in love by AKAWWJJD - this was recommended to me by a friend and was the second ever supercorp fic i read. it's angsty, but it's BEAUTIFUL and it's one of my favorite fics from any fandom, ever. it's basically a rewrite of crisis and the aftermath of that (with a heartbreaking, post-reveal beginning), and it's just so, so good. it really set the bar for me in terms of supercorp fics and i still think about it to this day. it's heartbreaking and poignant and just. perfect.

the banks of certain rivers and ever more light by @i-am-robie - these two go together, but if you only read one, read ever more light (although i highly suggest reading both). i found this one through a gifset based on the fic, and i am SO happy i did. this is the fic that made me believe in fluff again. i'm not kidding, before i found this fic, if it wasn't tagged as angst, i was not reading it. this one? completely changed my opinion. it's so soft and sweet and it gives you the same butterflies and good feelings kara gets around lena. i actually love these so much that i am in the process of binding them into a book.

same old blues by @searidings - this one is, in my opinion, hands down the best portayal of lena i've read so far. it captures her anger and hurt and emotions so well and it just feels exactly like lena. it picks up after the end of season four and is exactly how i imagine lena's reaction to kara being supergirl. obviously it's canon divergent, but this one just really nails lena. it's angsty and emotional and just SO good. the author describes it as "horny enemies to lovers" in their note and that really sums it up pretty well.

you're in my blood, like holy wine by @jazzfordshire - this one is one of my favorite AUs. it's a loose practical magic AU with witch!lena, but much more developed and fleshed out than in the show. not only does it have really well written supercorp, but it also showcases a really well done friendship between lena and sam. i'm gonna be real i'm very picky about AUs, but this one GOT me. i definitely recommend it.

i also highly recommend checking out all four of those authors' other works. robie has an AU that i really enjoyed, searidings has a fun little competitive supercorp one shot, jazzfordshire has one of my favorite smutty one shots, and AKAWWJJD has a mxy rewrite that is just wonderful.

i've read so many more that were really worth reading, so i highly recommend scrolling through the supercorp tag on ao3 and filtering out the results to find ones you might be into. i could've mentioned a bunch more that i enjoyed, but i figured i'd keep it to my top four and the honorable mentions because the authors all happened to have multiple i love. i've also got like, more than 40 open ao3 tabs currently, so i know my favorites list will definitely be growing.
