what’s my favorite character progression in supernatural, you ask? Oh, you didn’t? Well that’s tough because I’m going to tell you anyway.
Castiel learning human emotions. How to express his feelings without speaking. Raising eyebrows and dropping his jaw in surprise/shock. Furrowing his eyebrows and tilting his head in confusion. Crossing his arms and scowling when he is angry or doesn’t approve of an act. Big round puppy dog eyes to show his love, affection, and sorrow. Laughing and smiling when he feels joyous. Rubbing his face in exasperation and annoyance.
Watching Castiel express emotion for the first time and learn that it’s okay after millenniums of robotic obedience. That will always be my favorite part of his character because you can see when he starts to feel, starts to care, and starts to love.
What I read: Castiel pushes Dean against the Impala. His strong hands pinning the hunter against the cold metal as he kisses a trail to Dean’s ear. “Cas…” Dean whimpers as his body trembles with need. “Use your words, baby. Tell me what you need.” The angel whispers in Dean’s ear as he grinds their hips together.
imagine the amount of micro aggressions dean and cas get in those small town diners they go to. dean takes cas to one after a case, and cas isn’t going to get anything because all he can taste when he eats food is molecules. dean insists he should try the burger because he’s dean. “one burger for me and my friend,” dean would say. “yeah i bet you two are real good friends” the waiter would respond. dean would crumple like he’s been hit by a bus. cas wouldn’t get it and say that they are. sam and jack are also there but they missed the whole thing because they were in the bathroom trying to figure out if the automated sink was haunted because it kept turning on randomly. (it was not haunted. it was one of those automated sinks that just turns on when no one’s standing in front of it.)
