Headcanon: Superman’s suit is Kryptonian garb.

Here are the benefits:

1) Unlike Earth garb, it can deconstruct and reconstruct according to the wearer’s need.

So rather than wear it under his clothes, Clark activates it under his normal clothing when needed. That way he can where his suit anytime anywhere.

2) The suit has built-in armor.

Not as much as a war suit (which it can turn into if the wearer so chooses), but it does lessen the effects of Kryptonite & other harmful objects.

3) The suit can change appearance according to the wearer’s needs.

Clark deliberately chose a Superman design that made him appear taller & more muscular.

This serves in lessening the fear of the public as well as give reassurance as his appearance suggests strength, to intimidate his enemies, & to further distance Clark Kent the reporter from Kal-El the superhero.

4) The suit is a one piece that can be turned into multiple pieces according to the wearer’s needs.

This is extremely useful when Superman needs to detach his cape to protect civilians from fire, cold, bullets, or other danger.

Clark is fully able to use his people’s tech & has the martial discipline to neutralize his enemies.

He chooses not to however. He knows that will only have people fear him. And that is the opposite of Superman’s purpose:

To inspire hope through action.

To be a super man who does good things with all the power he has been given.

To be a moral compass in the face of the evil of the world & darkness within man’s heart.

some more vigilante outfit design ideas?? it's dani!! since dani's powers are super speed and she emits light when she does said super speed, she would need sunglasses or eye protection of some kind when doing her vigilante work. at first i just did a sunglasses + balaclava type head covering combo, but then i started thinking about biker helmets. dani is new to using her powers to their fullest extent and she's DEFINITELY rammed into walls at high speeds before. having a helmet of some sort to protect her head would be nice!! plus a biker helmet is something she could buy or thrift easily. so i think her vigilante outfit is going to be a stylized biker outfit. many thoughts!!

imo there should be more superheroes who wear casual clothes as their supersuit. i say this because if you got superpowers, what are the chances that you would get a supersuit that protects your body, has a nice texture, covers most of your body, is always skin tight, etc. etc. chances are your closet consists of mainly casual clothes, meaning that's what you gotta stick with. point is, more superheroes in media or even just superhero ocs should have supersuits consisting of normal clothes

trying my hand at superhero/vigilante outfit design for the first time. for the vigilantes in particular i want to make the outfits very like. practical. like these are all things you could Buy at the Store or make at home yourself without being super suspicious.

so here's discord!! aka mick. he very VERY rarely actually goes Out for missions. he's the guy who stays at home and monitors things for his vigilante partner(s). he's got just kind of a generic hacker/tech wear outfit that he wears for Work Mode and also puts on a mask and a modified VR headset that lets him use his powers more easily without getting overwhelmed or distracted. the gloves are part of the headset and let his motions be tracked. why wear the mask if he's not going out? it's a precaution in case his location gets compromised. if he gets jumped having the mask on protects his identity more in case he manages to get away. it also has a voice modulator in it for similar reasons

or at least that's the idea here haha it's very much a first pass

mick prefers sharp angles aesthetically speaking, he HAAAATES the roundification/smoothification of graphic design but he has to make do
