Cooking Crush Ep 9 Stray Thoughts

Last week, Prem and Dynamite were being moody about their romances, so Samsi took them back to his hometown to get a break and focus on their preparation for the food competition. Coincidentally, this is also where Ten ended up, and so Dynamite dragged Metha along so they could use Ten as cover. Prem and Ten were stressed about their separation and their lack of conflict, and fought about it via Ten's friends before reuniting and affirming they missed each other. Meanwhile, Ten has been learning from a young doctor who resembles his mom. We left at Ten having a breakdown after carrying her to the hospital.

I love that we called exactly what this show was doing based on all the cues it was giving, and it was exactly that Ten was back in that trauma and reliving it. I'm so glad Prem is here to help remind him that the world isn't that cruel, and also that he did well in getting Earn to help.

I love Prem and Ten. I am now a Babii.

It was such a good choice to have the two doctors training Ten be real with him after that, reminding him that doctors aren't gods and people will still die even if you try your best and make no mistakes.

I really like this conflict with Samsi. BL friends are usually overly supportive of the relationship and are never bothered by the changes in their friend dynamic. Two bottoms do not make an outfit, but three is a sisterhood; and Prem and Dy forgot that. There is so much to love in this episode.

Regarding Dynamite: This is exactly what I expected of him. You don't meet fem guys like him if they are loved and supported. You get this when they have to be. Dynamite has to support himself. We know he is a prodigy, so he's probably riding a scholarship to stay in school right now because he can't go home. I had been wondering for weeks why he didn't call his parents when he needed housing, and this is the obvious answer. It also explains why Samsi took him in even though he doesn't like people in his house. Because when you're gay, you take care of your own. I wish we focused more on the queerness of Dynamite in the posts that we pass around.

DON'T seem too impatient! - One of the biggest turn offs for a Niragi is when he's being approached by a d*ck starved groupie that makes it obvious she/he/they want(s) him to f*ck her/his/their brains out! So be subtle, approach your Niragi the same way a cat stalks its prey: observe from afar, make your way slowly towards your target and then... Strike! Try making it seem as if you approaching him was a mere coincidence, a simple curiosity of the moment due to the fact that his interesting and alluring presence and vibe of mystery caught your eye. You are the mastermind in this game of 'cat and mouse', so keep your gosh darn composure and lay your pieces carefully!

If you already have deep feelings for him, don't let it show, try to make it seem as if this is the first time you've ever met him and you've just felt like striking a conversation with a random stranger to ease your night out. You can also point out the fact that you've heard various rumors about him, to spike his curiosity, and then note that you don't really believe them and would like to find out for yourself if they're true. This will also give you the daring air of a challenge in Niragi's eyes since he's used to people fearing him, so a little innocent 'lamb' like yourself being unafraid of the 'big bad wolf' will sure seem amusing and worth exploring. And always, but always, have that gentle sweet air of innocence! Let him think he has the upper hand in this game and that he is the one manipulating you forward.

Tips of ways in which to start a conversation with your Niragi: if you are a newcomer to the Beach, ask him to be the one to introduce you to the place, bring up the fact that you've heard how important of a member of The Beach he is and that you admire his imposing and confident demeanor and that's why you want HIM specifically to be your guide; another method would be inviting him for a drink to start up a conversation, since incentives work most of the time; partner up with him for the night's game and show him how valuable you are in order to spike his interest in you so maybe he'll come seek you afterwards OR play the dumb little kitten route and rely on him to feed his ego that he's the best and strongest out there; lastly, if you approach him in the real world, try again to be subtle, go for a mundane subject, that might interest him even if just a little, ask him if a rumor about him is true to make him want to talk to you to clear it up and find out where it started from (this kind of leaves a mark in his memory to help him remember who the f*ck you are the next time you come seek him) or apply again the first strategy of inviting him out for something (but you might need to have done some previous small talk on random crap that kept him somewhat interested to make him want to continue conversing with you, in a more enjoyable way).

If you truly love and want this man for yourself and yourself only for the rest of your life, you have to accept the fact that you ain't gonna change him and chances he's going to willingly want to change on his own are extremly low to 0 (this ain't fu*king Mr. Darcy babe) and especially NOT for you (unless maybe, just maybe, he actually falls down bad for you, in which case the most you'll get will be him trying to be just a little less violent and a tad bit more romantic towards you, but don't expect much). Niragi will appreciate if he'll see that you accept his decisions and who he wants to be, so show that you are there for him and support him no matter what the heck might happen (you are after all his loyal devotee, remember?). So yeah, one thing you should never tell Niragi (besides the obvious "NO" and "STOP") is to go to therapy. And DON'T even f*cking try therapying him yourself if you value your life! Triggering his past traumas ain't never a good idea.

5. The 'Friendzone' strategy - Ah, this is a personal favorite of mine to be honest, cause it goes well hand in hand with 2 and 3 and will help you secure that good starting point from 1. Thing is that most often than not, a Niragi might grow tired and even bored of the swarm of people wanting to romance him. So give him something different, be the 'exception' from the rule, that 'special' one that doesn't want to f*ck him (as stated at 1, be subtle and don't seem d*ck starved), be that odd one out who spikes his interest by simply wanting to be... FRIENDS!

We all love the enemies to lovers trope, but in real life, the one that works best for romancing someone is the friends to lovers approach, and so will it work in our quest too. Love is built on things two people have in common, things they share with each other, the nice things the two partners build together and the quality time they spend together. So, by becoming his friend first, you assure 3 of these stuff: you build memories with him through the crap you two do together, you share stuff and hopefully spend quality time together. Add to that the things he has (or thinks he has) in common with you, and BAM, he'll slowly start falling for you.

6. Devote yourself to him heart, body and soul - After a while, if things go smoothly between you two and he starts to show signs of possession over you and sexual/romantic interest (tho let's be real, in 99% of cases he's only going to show sexual interest in someone cause 'who the f*ck is love? We don't know her in this household!'), you can go on and finally confess your feelings to Niragi and maybe even start upping up your flirting game by showing him that you want him physically too. Start showering him with your undying love and adoration, make him feel full of himself seeing how helpless you are for him, what a lost cause you are in terms of being blinded with love, how much you freaking adore him and that you'd do ANYTHING for him (yeah, in 1 case out of 4 he might ask you to kill someone for him... But we don't really talk about that...). After having played very hard to get in the beginning, now you can finally loosen up and switch gears, becoming a needy mess for him, so that you'll manipulate convince him into to think that he has absolute control over you. In some cases, if you played your cards right, your love confession might yield you the very satisfying reward of Niragi confessing to you too in return.

Show him that you are loyal and devoted to him and that'll make him to also show a similar level of loyalty and devotion to you, as your trustworthy lover and partner in crime.

7. Be the Yang to his Yin, that innocent little sweet lamb that the bad wolf will devour - As mentioned in previous points, it's important to use that deceiving sweet innocent persona that emanates purity and innocence, this will stir him up a bit inside to want to have you, to corrupt you. Niragi is a man who loves to own things, so the more he can own of you, the better! Plus, being all innocent and vulnerable might trigger that primal instinct in him of wanting to protect you, especially now that he owns you.

If you already are a genuinely sweet person and even better, still a virgin too, you don't have to do anything special here, just be yourself and enjoy the effects you have on Niragi whenever you give him one of those adorable sweet looks or say something (especially his name) in that cute voice of yours... With using this similar to Giyu, you use your weapon (you’ll see it under this…) you can make most attacks stop with just hitting them with your weapon and around you, you’ll be surrounded by a calmness, wind, and when you see the water slow down into just a glass floor, that’s when you know you can stop any attack with just that.

A statement from Buckingham Palace and Ngozi Fulani, Founder of Sistah Space

A meeting took place this morning, 16th December, at Buckingham Palace between Ms Ngozi Fulani, founder of Sistah Space, and Lady Susan Hussey to address the incident that took place at a Palace reception last month.

At this meeting, filled with warmth and understanding, Lady Susan offered her sincere apologies for the comments that were made and the distress they caused to Ms Fulani.

Lady Susan has pledged to deepen her awareness of the sensitivities involved and is grateful for the opportunity to learn more about the issues in this area.

Ms Fulani, who has unfairly received the most appalling torrent of abuse on social media and elsewhere, has accepted this apology and appreciates that no malice was intended.

The Royal Households will continue their focus on inclusion and diversity, with an enhanced programme of work which will extend knowledge and training programmes, examining what can be learnt from Sistah Space, and ensuring these reach all members of their communities.

Both Ms Fulani and Lady Susan ask now that they be left in peace to rebuild their lives in the wake of an immensely distressing period for them both.

They hope that their example shows a path to resolution can be found with kindness, co-operation and the condemnation of discrimination wherever it takes root.

It is the wish of both parties that, at the end of the UN’s 16 days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, attention can now return to the important work of Sistah Space in supporting women affected by domestic abuse.

Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort and other members of the Royal Family have been kept fully informed and are pleased that both parties have reached this welcome outcome.

Allies are standing in support of Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, after the recent revelations that Prince William's godmother, Lady Susan Hussey had a racist exchange with Ngozi Fulani, of the community initiative Sistah Space.

The high-ranking Buckingham Palace pal has resigned since the incident became public, but the exchange is just another in a line of racist incidents coming from the British Royal Family.

Fulani wrote about the exchange she had with Lady Hussey, in which the palace aide asked where Fulani was from. She explained that she was born in Britain, but Hussey persisted, asking where she was really from, the implication was that because she was Black, she wasn't actually from Britain.

Just a quick question here. Who is Awkwafina and why is she bad?

Well she's a rapper, actress, and comedian who appropriates AAVE and blaccents and does cultural appropriation. And when called out on her fuckery she gave a non-apology that clearly didn't mean shit. Just looking up "awkwafina racism" will give you plenty info. And the sad thing is, as those articles show, she's not the first East Asian celebrity to do shit like this against Black people. Not stereotyping obviously but a lot of East Asian stars perform cultural appropriation, blaccents, think they can say the n-word, etc.. It's truly heartbreaking to witness, we're supposed to be supporting each other as fellow marginalized groups, but that doesn't stop certain East Asian and KPOP stars from thinking they're niggas.

That kinda dulled down some of my hype for The Little Mermaid(2023). Finding out that this beautiful film with a Black girl in the lead would have this wannabe sistah in it made me all sorts of gross AND OH LET'S NOT FORGET THAT LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA IS IN CHARGE OF THE SCORE TOO LIKE FUCKING REALLY DOES HE NEED TO BE IN FUCKING EVERYTHING HE WROTE A SLAVE PLAY AND A MOVIE ABOUT DOMINICANS WITH NO AFROLATINES IN IT BUT NO LET'S PILE ON THE ANTI-BLACKNESS IN OUR BLACK FEMALE-LED FILM SHALL WE GOSH I LOVE ENCANTO AND WHAT ELSE CAN I DO BUT THIS IS JUST TOO MUCH ahem I'm getting off topic.

HELL-O!) has made me real happy to see. I miss your stuff beb! Been re-reading lots of your old fics. If anyone tells you that you can't characterize then they are talking shit. You write the MC guys so good! You give them more depth that we can all see is there, but isn't always brought out on the show. You read their intricacies so well. Too many writers on here stick to the script and it gets boring. Too many think their own shit don't stink with their writing and think they're in a place to criticize others. Yeah, I did take a bit of a back seat to my writing after that anon, I won't even lie about that. I'm feeling more confident in myself now, though. I know there was a degree of improvement I needed to take, and I'm still working on that. Quite happily, too.

My little band of friends have really been there for me as well (especially @daydreaming-belle, who has talked me in off the ledge as it were more than once, LOL!) and I know who has my back and who doesn't in supporting me. No idea who it was who sent that anon, but I would like to think you're incorrect and that it wasn't another writer. That kind of back-biting mean-spiritedness is so childish. And for what? They didn't knock me down for long. All being the kind of person to take shots at someone indirectly does is serve to make THEM look like an arsehole, so well done them. Haha!

Again, thank you. People like you make it worth the effort I put in. I'm glad you can see beyond what we're given on the show and get what I'm aiming for. I might not always be right with it, but I am glad I make people happy with what I write, and can only hope I continue to do so.

I’m confused! Why did that lady who accused LH of racist comments excepted an invitation to Buckingham Palace? The woman expressed her dislike of the monarchy in her past tweets. She supports Meghan. If you dislike the monarchy turn down the invitation. That woman is a big hypocrite and a total dumb*ass. We get championship winning sports teams who are invited to WH. If the players don’t like the President they will not go. This woman has an agenda. You hate the monarchy but you will except the invitation to mingle with royals until someone questions about you so you can bee totally offended. Of all people an 80 year old something nana. Mind you old people have on filter. My grandma will say some ignorant things and people will go on their way because she’s old. I have taking care of elderly patients who will ask outrageous questions of where I’m from. And I paid no mind. I just go on with my business because they are not worth arguing. Elderly people have no filter they will say or ask things that are uncomfortable or embarrassing. This LH simply ask where the Sistah Space woman is from. We don’t know what was the actual conversation was. But remember the lady telling her story is Meghan fan and the person who witnessed it also a Meghan fan. WE ARE JUST £100,000 short of the asking price for this beautiful safe house complete with many rooms and facilities, and a lovely garden. 

It seems a lot doesn't it, but we have already raised several times that amount and this is the final stretch to finally achieve what has been 6 years in the planning. 

The idea behind our specialist refuge, is that victims of domestic abuse, including women with children can be accommodated safely for anything between 1 night and 10 days, while an alternative adequate safe space is found or a 'mainstream' refuge is located. 

The space will be accessible 24hrs a day in case of emergencies and will be (wo-)manned full time. 

Because of issues around 'adultifcation' of black children, we will will use our discretion to accept children up to and including 16 years of age until other arrangements can be made.

A black British charity leader who was asked where she “really came from” by the late queen’s senior lady-in-waiting at a Buckingham Palace royal reception has said she has suffered “horrific abuse” on social media.

Ngozi Fulani, founder of the charity Sistah Space, said Susan Hussey moved her hair so she could see her name badge and then subjected her to what felt “like an interrogation” about where her “people” came from.

In a statement issued on Monday, Fulani said: “The last week has been an extremely difficult time for us all at Sistah Space. My team, family and I have been put under immense pressure and received some horrific abuse via social media. Yet throughout this time I have been heartened by the huge amount of support we have received.

“I want to thank everyone for that, and it has shown me that love will always triumph over hate.”

Lady Hussey, 83, resigned from her position as one of the ladies of the household, an honorary position, last week and offered her “profound apologies” for any hurt caused.

Fulani told ITV’s Good Morning Britain last week that although she didn’t experience “physical violence” she would describe her encounter as “a form of abuse”.

Describing her interaction with the 83-year-old, Fulani said: “I was stood next to two other women – black women – and she [Susan Hussey] just made a beeline for me and she took my locks and moved it out of the way so that she could see my name badge.

“That’s a no-no. I wouldn’t put my hands in someone’s hair and culturally it’s not appropriate.”

Asked how she felt about Hussey’s resignation, Fulani said: “I want the focus to remain where it should be, which is on the women and girls who are affected by domestic abuse.

“Having said that, she’s influenced by Buckingham Palace, and it’s their decision and her decision to make, one that I had no part in.”

Fulani said the comments were down to racism, not Hussey’s age.

“I’ve heard so many suggestions it’s about her age and stuff like that and I think that’s a kind of a disrespect about ageism,” she said on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.

“Are we saying that because of your age you can’t be racist or you can’t be inappropriate?”

A spokesperson for the Prince of Wales, who is Lady Hussey’s godson, has previously said the comments were unacceptable and that “racism has no place in our society”. Buckingham Palace has described the remarks as “unacceptable and deeply regrettable”. The Mail reported on Saturday that Buckingham Palace had invited Fulani to meet the King and Queen to address the event.
