I know I mostly post Sonic stuff but oh my God I need more people to pay attention to Prince of Persia: The Lost crown.
The entertainment industry as a whole is on the verge of collapse and games like this are gonna be thriving. A Non-Triple A title that is gorgeous and plays very well Have I mentioned the game is beautiful???

I saw people complaining that this game wasn't worth the 50 dollar price because it was 2D. Huh?? Y'all know Mario Wonder was 70 dollars for virtually the same game play, right? No shade to Mario Wonder it's great but you can't use 2D isn't worth 50 as a talking point when Mario Wonder made headlines and few people complained about it being way too much.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is developed by an indie company (Ubisoft), and the composer of the game is Gareth Coker who did the music for Ori, and Ark Survival Evolved. It's not on Steam yet because Ubisoft wants to sell more copies before going to Steam which has a high fee on developers who use it as a platform.
There are some things I don't like. One namely being the game-crashing glitch I ran into. There's a side quest you take from a pirate guy and it freezes the game and I had to go on Reddit to figure out how to fix. Hopefully that gets patches soon. Another thing I don't line much is the voice acting. Sargon's lines especially feel a little flat to me, especially for how well his emotions are animated. The voice lines just don't fit. But those are my only two big things. I love the platforming, the completely customizable difficulty, the game is also huge as well. I'm 10 hours in and only about 40% done. I also have a huge bias for metroidvania style games. Having free reign of a huge map filled to the brim with lore is just very nice and fun.
The best thing though? Colors. Colors. Colors. The blue and red dynamics are amazing. Even combat dynamics are colored (such as yellow vs red vs white attacks and how they impact your parry)

Creators I love you but it's time to wake up
Among rumors about our tumblr user data being sold off to Midjourney/Generative AI, recent Extremely transphobic events (that have been ongoing) coming to a head, another extremely concerning internet censorship bill being pushed in upper levels of government, and a general air of frustration over how the site belongs to and is operated by perhaps the second stupidest CEO (second only to twitters own) of our age, I'm very done with the last few vestiges of what the old internet held for artists.
And if you're reading this, you probably are too.
I know we're tired. We are all tired. It is not always viable to pack up shop and move, again and again and again.
From tumblr to twitter to anywhere else we've ever grown up posting, things no longer work. Our audiences are kneecapped by aggressive and hostile algorithms, our reach is abysmal - if we aren't shadow-banned or silenced for one (transphobic) reason or another, we're thrust into an ever growing pit of hostility where the only thing that drives clicks is fighting and contention.
We're tired. We're so fucking tired. We aren't businesses, we aren't content mills, we cannot keep this pace that modern social media has set for us, to wring every ounce of creativity out of us to profit from and leave us rotting.
The key to staying afloat here, and I cannot stress this enough, is to stay connected to your peers.
Pack up and move as units if you must. Exodus from the sites that are killing us. Push your entire friend group of artists to move from one site to the next that promises you a kinder experience.
Art drives movements, it drives change, it is all that encompasses being human. If you take that away from the shitty places, they will be left with nothing but a cesspit of inhumanity and the people who follow you will be more incentivized than ever to move with you.
Yes, this is terrifying. There are no guarantees. There never was, and never are, and never will be.
But stay connected. Stay human.
Support each other and be willing to hold hands and jump when we all - as a group - need to jump from the flames we're all trying to convince ourselves wont kill us before rescue comes.
Rescue isn't coming, rescue will be found hand in hand with each other. I'm offering you my hand, please take it. There's always a new start, there are always helping hands reaching for you. You have to look up from the doom-scroll long enough to see and take them.

okay so have this thing where i get... a few errors. because i have weird things in my script that WORRK LET ME REMIND YOU THIS WHOLE GAME RN WORKS IT JUST ACTS A BIT QUIRKY SOMETIMES. ANYWAY i have things like a timer that keeps going on so every 2 seconds a new error starts, or when i walk into a room a bunch of errors pop up caus i made interaction script in the player script (stuff like if player touches this specific thing then that happens) and because the thing the player interacts with ISNT in that scene godot goes like " HUH WTF???? THEN WHY ARE YOU SAYING IT LIKE THAT?????" and then proceed to scream:
"E R R O R"
giving me 12 errors and yelling at me. BUT IT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG THO THE SCRIPT WORKS. SO WHY CHANGE IT!!!!! anyway so i realised it might be a good idea to rework the player script to remove every interaction thing and move it to a separated script specific for every scene and i will make a new one for every scene to remove these annoying errors. That and i also am fucking tired with the insanely messy code i made for the player caus it is littered with random code that i tried ot make work but its like i broke up with it but i sometimes find some of their stuff in my house, so i stil have random lines of code that do N O T H I N G and is annoying me constantly but i am to afraid to remove things caus it WORKS and if i change it it often breaks.

Hello, all! Maks of Mushroom Witch Games back with another Abandon Hope dev update. A lot has happened since the last update so let's get started!
GAME DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
The game main draft is still at 17k words. I'm waiting for a few folks to send back feedback and then I will go from there. But that said, one reader's feedback gave me the chance to add a new class! I won't say it just yet - I need to tinker with it first, but I'm sure I'll mention something down the line!
Abandon Hope: Walking Alone in the Dark released next month! The Abandon Hope team is happy to announce the release our first solo journal RPG, set in the Abandon Hope universe. You are an unfortunate soul who has stayed out too late - and now a twisted entity stalks your every move. You can check out the announcement post or view the trailer here.
Mushroom Witch Games will be opening a Ko-fi page November 1st! Members of our Ko-fi page will get to see game illustrations, drafts, be given opportunities to play test games, and other juicy bits before everyone else. There will be several levels of memberships and all support will be used to make more games, advertise our products, and buy snacks for the creators. (Because snacks power creators). HOW I'M FEELING ABOUT THE PROCESS
I feel like I might be at a standstill with the main game because I'm taking so much information in. The feedback I've received so far has been immensely helpful and since I am in not rush to release the core multiplayer game, I feel like I can take my time with it. However, I also feel very insecure since I have so much to learn. But I am still going to do the thing, no matter what. That said, the more I create the spinoff solo games, the more I gain insight on how I want the main game to be!

guys I’m about to go to bed but can you guys do me a favor and play the new day demo. the game is going to basically be the tomodachi life sequel nintendo will never make. it’s only the islander creator + room editor at the moment but I think it’d be quite fun and silly to see people attempt to make the characters of their fandoms. they have a makeup editor similar to miitopia. the demo is completely free on steam. if you don’t have a steam account already it’s also free so this really doesn’t cost anything. i need to see the silly things. also there is a silly little effect for when you click.

SO i am currently working on the attacks, rn the direction of the attacks/all animation is based on the direction you are walking in/ the wasd buttons, if you are attacking you won't walk but you are stil looking in the direction you are pressing in the wasd buttons. HOWEVER i have a problem, i want the attacks to be based on the position of the mouse! i originally thought i could do smth i have rn where i have a variable with a vector2 and 4 inputs (wasd) and that use that as the blendspace2d. I want the same but on the direction of the mouse compared to the player, so if it is up the animation is positioned up, and if the mouse is on the left the animation is on the left!! BUT I CAN"T GET THIS TO WORKK I'VE LOOKED EVERYWHEREEEEE PLSS TELL ME YOU KNOW SMTH I AM DESPERATE
