I can understand how people have breed preferences for dogs, because most dog breeds came about from dogs having the body and temperament to do a Very Specific Job, so they can be very different from eachother. But cats? All cats is the same. 

#aside from like a bengal which is closer to being a wild cat #and also you don't really need a bengal because again they ARE a wild cat #but ASIDE FROM THAT... cats are cats #you can go into the cat section of a shelter #close your eyes and spin around and POINT #and whatever kitty you pointed at is JUST as good as any of the others #unless it's an orange tabby in which case it'll be just as good as any of the others AND extremely STUPID #I say this with love. we have an orange tabby. I don't make the rules here #sergle.txt #dogs were Pets with Jobs and cats have pretty much always been Companion Pets #so they didn't need to have different body shapes or different temperaments from breed to breed... #we didn't even really domesticate cats all that hard? cats sort of designed themselves? #sure there were mousers but we didn't breed cats to be mousers.. they just sort of DID that #some person ages ago was sitting with their cat and it killed a mouse and they were like oh cool! added bonus!
