Track #2: Sunlight - Hozier Drabble Masterlist
Azul Ashengrotto x Reader
Summary: Azul treats everyone as a business arrangement. He thought it would be the same with you, until he realizes he’d much rather have you than your resources.
i. all the tales the same
An octopus has three hearts - that’s the explanation Azul’s mother would always give when he’d come home crying as a child. It was comforting, to explain away his sensitivity in a single phrase. You have to be more careful with yours, Azul, she’d say, rubbing his back. There’s more of you to break.
He understood what she meant far too well. Every tease, every taunt, every comment muttered behind his back (and most of the time to his face) was far too much for him to bear. They were only children, but so was he. Is it any wonder he’d stopped seeing people as more than transactional when all they’d seen him as was a joke?
If he didn’t care for them, if they were reduced to nothing but an inky signature, how could their words hurt him? They were nothing.
He thought you’d be nothing too.
You started off like most ‘relationships’ in his life; a business transaction. At least, that’s how he’d thought of you.
You, who was so blissfully kind and innocent, doe-eyed and naive, thought of him as a friend, and then eventually, more.
To him, you were easy prey. It would be simple to gain your friendship, your trust, maybe even your heart if he was so lucky. Then, it would be oh so simple to gain access to all that you could do for him.
ii. told before and told again
The plan requires more commitment than he’d realized, but he knows it will be worth it in the end. You, the sole heir of your father’s estate, will be in a position to let Azul gain access to a brand new market he’s been looking to expand into. If he has to play friend, he’s willing to do it.
You’re…lonelier than he expects. Azul isn’t exactly a social butterfly himself (at least, for non-business related reasons), but your eagerness to spend time with him certainly stems from more than just his ‘great companionship.’ He almost feels bad, for a moment, to lead you on, but he steels himself with the justification of his success.
You won’t mind, right? He gets your help, you get his friendship, even if it is manufactured. It’s an equal trade, he tells himself.
Spending all this time together, he learns things about you. Things that are disconcerting.
Azul hasn’t had trouble sleeping since he was a child. Everything he did was perfectly scheduled; how was he to function if not by keeping up a meticulous sleep cycle which guaranteed him a satisfying eight hours of rest per night?
He thinks you’re the reason he’s started lying awake. He can’t stop thinking about the things you’ve told him - maybe ‘let slip’ is the better term.
He’s used to coaxing information out of his clients; it’s good for business. Now he only wishes he wasn’t so good.
They aren’t so much secrets; it’s not as though you’ve made a great effort to hide them, only that no one has made an effort to look in the first place.
He’s played the dutiful friend long enough to know how…pitiful you can become after a night out or a hard day. He’s been there to take care of you, always making sure you get home safe or that you’re well fed. You’re a poor, unfortunate sight; you’re lucky it’s only Azul taking advantage of your resources and not someone much worse. His stomach churns at the thought of it - that’s one of the many things that keeps him up. It’s not that he’s worried; no, no, you were only a business arrangement of his. If anything were to happen to you, his whole plan could go to ruin.
That’s why he stays the night in your apartment, sleeping on the couch so he can check on you despite the fact that the commute will make him late for work and his back will hurt all day from the lumpy sofa. That’s why he can’t sleep, forced to make sure you’re sleeping soundly every few hours.
You’ll apologize in the morning for being a mess; you always do. The two of you put on a charade of sorts - you promise it won’t happen again, that you’re sorry for forcing him to take care of you (although you’d never asked a thing from him) and he pretends that none of it matters, that it’s not a big deal.
It’s only for the sake of business when he asks you to spend more time with him; if you’re not with your undesirable friends (who only get you into trouble, he thinks) then you (and his deal) will be safe. It’s certainly not because the last time he’d come to check on you, you’d had light bruises peppering your neck, almost as if someone had nipped at your skin gently and-
Azul perishes the thought from his mind. So what if he hasn’t won your heart? That’s not his goal, he doesn’t need your love to get your help, he’ll just-
iii. a soul that’s born in cold and rain
You kiss him, one night. You’re at his apartment, and it’s been a peaceful evening. He’d invited you over for dinner, cooking you one of the most recent dishes he’d been testing for his restaurant chain. The two of you had settled into his sofa, a movie playing in the background.
He noticed you hadn’t been paying attention; he was watching the screen, but you kept sneaking (not so subtle) glances at him every few seconds, putting him on edge. He turned to you, about to ask what was wrong, when you kissed him.
Your lips brush against his lightly; he almost wonders if he’d fallen asleep and was only dreaming the whole thing. He’d only just closed his eyes when he felt you pull away and begin to apologize for kissing him without asking. He can’t even form a response, only pulling you in to continue what you’d started.
Things only seem to spiral from there. Azul is, admittedly, a sensitive soul, perhaps too sentimental for his own good. He’d vowed to be utilitarian about his relationships; to view everyone only per their use value, and thus to never have to care. Caring, for him, typically meant getting hurt in some way, but he can’t quite help himself with you.
Your affection feels good. Your love is addicting. He refuses to let either of them go, thoughts of business and markets pushed to the furthest place in his mind.
It’s only natural, then, that the two of you quickly become closer than ever before. A toothbrush at his apartment quickly becomes you moving in; he’s a busy man, after all. What better way to see more of each other than living together (you practically spent all your time with him, anyway).
If you depend on him, that’s okay. That’s how it’s always been with the two of you, hasn’t it? He takes care of you, he always has.
iv. knows sunlight, sunlight, sunlight
He’s drifting off to sleep with you in his arms when he hears you speak.
“Azul?”
“Yes, darling?”
“I’m sorry.”
That makes him open his eyes. He moves to turn on the lamp, but you stop him. “Sorry? For what?”
“For taking advantage of you.”
That almost makes him laugh. “Pardon? I don’t seem to recall such a thing happening.”
“I know, Azul. You…you don’t need to pretend that you like me. I know you just want access to my father’s contacts. I knew since the beginning and I should’ve put a stop to it. I’m so, so sorry I just - you were so kind to me, and I couldn’t help but bask in your sunlight a little. But it’s gone too far. Look at us. You never should’ve had to become so close with me, it was wrong for me to hold on. For that, I’m sorry. There’s no need for us to continue this charade, I’ll give you the contacts you want. And…and I’ll be sure to get out of your life…”
Azul is silent for a moment, before he can’t hold back his chuckle any longer. He tries to contain himself once he sees the tears begin to pool in your eyes. You start to pull away, but he pulls you close with one arm, wiping away your tears with the other.
“Oh dear, you’re truly serious! You’re laying in my bed, in my arms, and you think you’re taking advantage of me? You thought I only wanted you for your resources and yet you feel sorry? I suppose your tender heart and naïveté are endearing, but it won’t do for you to be so vulnerable, my love. It’s a good thing I love you so much, any less and I might truly be tempted to take advantage of such a poor soul like yours~”
You look at him in confusion. “You mean it…but how can I trust you, Azul?”
His arms move to slip around your waist, pulling you in close to him. You can feel the heat of his smooth skin move against your body, the warmth of his breath on you face.
“How indeed, my love? I suppose I’ll have to show you, then. Actions speak louder than words, after all.”
With that, Azul lifts himself off the bed, drawing you under him and capturing your lips once again.

Can I get head cannons for Jason Voorhees, Candyman, Bubba Sawyer and Billy Lenz giving their s/o a hug and their S/o just starts crying because they’ve never really gotten physical affection before? Thank you <3
^ Prompt Headcanons; The Slashers ^
A/N: Sure, I haven't written for many slashers yet 🙃 enjoy reading, and thanks for the request.
Tumblr media
Jason Vorhees:
💧• Jason totally understands why you're crying once you tell him, though when he tries to hug you and you start crying, he'll jump off you, thinking he went too far or you're hurt.
💧• But once you let him know that's it not that, you just aren't used to such a protective love that he shows you, he's probably crying behind his mask too. Deep down, he's a softie who loves his mother and you, and since his mother was the only person who really ever loved him before you, he gets it.
💧• It won't stop him from hugging you though, because now you've been introduced to love and affection, you need to get used to it, and he'll help with that 🥲
Tumblr media
Bubba Sawyer:
🪚• Poor boy's gonna panic and go running for help because he assumes you're hurt or he's upset you somehow, and takes a lot of convincing and turning around and around to show that you're not hurt anywhere and that he did nothing wrong.
🪚• Once he understands that you're just not used to the affection and love, he's baffled, because how could nobody have given you a hug or shown you love before him?! It's impossible!
🪚• If you're sure you're okay with it, he'll give you loads more bear hugs and love from now on, but it hurts him to see you cry, and he'll do anything to stop it 🥺
Tumblr media
Candyman:
🐝• A complete gentleman that immediately gets off you, thinking he's pushed a boundary. When you shake your head and tell him that's not it, he'll think that maybe you're hurt? Wait, you're hurt?! Who hurt you??
🐝• He might feel like crying a bit when you tell him that you're not upset, but this whole feeling is completely new to you and you've never had it before. And is also in utter disbelief in the fact that you, you, have never had anyone love you like this? Not even close?? How?!
🐝• Needless to say, it only encourages him to be more doting and loving on you, because you deserve it. I believe that he's such a gentle and protective partner, and if affection is what you've been deprived of, it's what you'll get.
Tumblr media
BILLY LENZ:
🎄• Boy's so confused at first, and might panic a bit. Why are you crying? What's happening? It might drive him a bit mad, so you'll need to calm him down and explain in very simple terms that they're happy tears, and you just aren't used to the extremely suffocating affection he gives you.
🎄• Once Billy understands, he'll hug you tighter and coo at you, thinking it's cute. Prepare for the weird and random baby names and grabby hands squeezing whatever flesh he can get his hands on.
🎄• Cus, I mean, this is Billy, so the cuteness will only last so long before he's rubbing up against you 🙄

Oh, Sweet Child of Mine (Pt. 5)
Platonic Yandere Whitebeard & Reader-Insert
Main|First|Previous
(This feels like the Marco chapter, and I'm not even sorry. Not intended to be shippy btw, but I totally understand if it's read that way)
Warnings: Platonic Yandere behavior, implied threats of physical violence, and intimidation. Do not tolerate this behavior in real life.
Next chapter won't have such a heavy Marco focus I swear lol
Have fun and be safe!

Word Count: 3,325
Absolutely horrifying. That’s about how you’d describe the experience of eating lunch in a completely abandoned kitchen under the watchful eye of The Phoenix. Having been told in no uncertain terms that you would ‘get used to it’, you resigned yourself to a more timid, cautious eye for escape. Certainly nothing risky as it was abundantly clear that you weren’t leaving unless he let you.
Why exactly everyone else seemed to just go with it was also unclear but from the reaction of Fire Fist this seemed… normal?! To just—well—pick someone and keep them in the crew?! Either it was treated as a more amusing but regular way Whitebeard gained ‘children’ or excused under some respect towards your devil fruit. You had never heard of pirates recruiting quite like this. Sure, some hapless civilian will be taken in due to poor circumstances and an inability to take on the pirates themselves, but piracy is quite a dangerous life as is. The last thing any self-respecting crew would want is a hazard on board. A rouge agent ready to see them sink or be killed at the first opportunity.
Not, however, that you thought you were capable of such a feat on your own. A sentiment you suspected was shared with the very crew you were being kept by. Perhaps that explained at least some of the craziness occurring. If you had nothing to fear of any of your actions, why not just take what you want? With total impunity? A bit hedonistic but frankly, the Whitebeard Pirates weren’t known to be saints to begin with. Even though, among Yonkos, they’re one of the more… tolerable pirate crews all around. Red-Hair was more known for partying and raising hell for the fun of it but then there was Big Mom and Kaido.
Fuck yourself sideways if it was Big Mom or Kaido that found you instead.
Though at least it would be less confusing then. Whitebeard’s crew had this thick veneer of ‘family’ about it that they all really believed in and made hating them feel… weird. Complicated, at least, though you still wanted nothing to do with any of them. Big Mom’s crew had some of that ‘family’ vibe about it but more like… a ruthless, constant struggle to impress their ‘mom’. Even at a distance you knew that the inner politics of Big Mom’s crew was rife with struggle.
Here though, it was all a lot more relaxed. You could almost believe they had good intentions. Hell, if you had walked on board of your own volition, it would even be a breath of fresh air. You know. For a pirate crew.
And really, that’s what freaked you out the most.
They were pirates.
A fucking Yonko crew.
And they acted like you weren’t a marine here unwillingly. Like you were just another child of Whitebeard having a bit of a rebellious phase and soon to drop it and go back to being a good kid. And you’ve never met any of them before in your life.
Fucking bizarre.
And the second worst thing is that you’ve finished what was definitely the most delicious meal of your life without even tasting any of it. Too occupied by your thoughts and the amused stare down The Phoenix was treating you to, elbows on the counter with his chin resting in his palm. Eyes partially closed with a soft smile. You couldn’t decide if it was fascination or some form of restrained malice that cut across the short distance.
Whatever it was could join the line in the list of things freaking you the fuck out. And hopefully fuck off in no particular order but you haven’t gotten what you wanted in years, so why start now?
The Phoenix sat up, instantly gaining your attention as he grinned.
“Well, now that you’ve rested and eaten, I think it’s time to see where you’re at, yoi.” You frowned, looking around the empty room.
“Uhm… I guess the kitchen? Or at least one of them?” You mumbled, getting increasingly nervous about what he would do next.
Another little speech about how you’ll totally love it here as a pirate and should just get over your silly hangups? Veiled threats to hunt you for sport if you disagree?
The Phoenix laughed, shaking his head as he stood up, taking your dishes to the closest sink.
“No, blue bird. I’m curious to know how your fighting skills are.” The Phoenix stated and you blanched instinctively.
“Nowhere near good enough to fight you.” You responded quickly, desperately hopeful he didn’t mean that you were going to fight him. While you could take a hit well enough, you weren’t a masochist. And you needed no demonstration that he could kick your ass. The Phoenix grinned with a little too much teeth, tapping your nose fondly.
“Oh, I know that, blue bird. It’s good that you know that too, though. It’s kind of refreshing not dealing with a cocksure marine.” He huffed. “No, you’ll try fighting someone else. Without a devil fruit.” He gently brought you along with him through the ship past several curious crew members, his arm firmly around your shoulder.
You grimaced at the reminder about devil fruits. You could feel quite a few on board, the pull of theirs on yours likely why you slept so long. You’d never been strained like this before, though the ache quickly faded to a more tolerable level compared to when you first boarded the ship. Whether that was your own ability getting stronger or your sense of relative struggle getting screwed with, you weren’t sure. The Phoenix constantly touching you also helped disorient you.
You wished that your previous partners had focused on figuring out how to lessen your devil fruit rather than constantly abusing it to get a power up. Too late now though.
Eventually, The Phoenix led you to a large room with walls of weapons and a training mat in the middle.
“This is where we test out new recruits and occasionally see if a different weapon would be a better fit. What’s your preference, yoi?” You hissed in a grimace.
Unfortunately, your strongest fighting style was hand to hand combat. Understandably not advised after you ate your devil fruit. You’d been working with a bo staff after enlisting but had absolutely no time training with it unless you counted sweeping the barracks.
“Hand to hand, actually.” You shrugged helplessly. “I’ve been trying to use a bo staff but I never got time to train with it beyond not smacking my face.” The Phoenix chuckled, ruffling your hair and pointing to the center of the room.
“Wait there, yoi. I’ll bring someone over to spar you.” Nervous, you removed your shoes and padded over to the middle of the mat. It was a pretty good sparring mat, actually. Enough give to soften a fall but not unstable to walk on. Upon closer inspection you noticed that the weapons displayed were all training weapons. No live steel or sharp edges to be found. Blunt weapons were still quite dangerous, especially if you get too comfortable with their ‘safety’, but it was all part of the learning process.
“Hey.” You jolted, half turning to see a large man standing behind you. Well over twice your size and thicker than any tree you climbed as a child. “What are you doing, marine.”
Oh. So some of the crew was aware of your job. And not strictly approving of your appearance here. It was almost reassuring. While you didn’t want any of the Yonko crew to hate you, the idea of all literal thousands of them instantly liking you made you nauseous. Even the well over a thousand members currently on board having zero issue with you made your bones shudder.
“The Phoenix told me to wait here until he came back with someone to spar with.” You answered honestly with a shrug, fighting to not fidget under the man’s intense glare. He grinned, several teeth missing.
“I’ll spar you. No weapons?” You shook your head, not sure if you should argue against him as you pushed your glasses back up your nose.
You didn’t want to disobey The Phoenix on your first day and set up a pattern of disobedience that he’d need to keep a closer eye on. But the man before you also didn’t look like he was going to take no for an answer.
Luckily, the man has the worst posture you’ve ever seen. He threw a punch down at you, the angle awkward as it was clear he enjoyed winning fights with overwhelming force against opponents closer to his eye level. Truthfully, you don’t have a lot of natural skills going for you. You weren’t born with incredible strength or speed. You bruised like a peach and your body was more or less quite average to adjusting to training. And you certainly wasn’t going to worry about being too tall to enter establishments anytime soon.
So you had to get smart. You knew long ago that you’d never out-punch everyone. Not that you shouldn’t ever try but well… some heights were simply out of your reach.
The man was sloppy. A brute that likely preferred blunt weapons for the satisfaction of breaking bones. He tensed up in all the wrong places—likely to accommodate the massive weapon he usually wielded. Not the worst fighter you’ve seen by far.
But definitely worse at it than you. At least when it came to fighting someone so much smaller than himself—a real issue that tended to crop up on the Grand Line.
Your feet slid into place, knees bending to brace yourself against the brief but overwhelming force. Your hands grasping the man’s arm as you pivoted the angle of descent, using his own weight against him as he flew overhead. Back slamming into the ground with a hard thud that genuinely lifted you off your feet. It was a basic defensive maneuver.
But that didn’t stop you from laughing a little at his surprised expression, your fingertips still resting over his pulse point as it raced. After a moment you let his arm drop.
“Are you alright?” You couldn’t help but ask after a few more moments, the man’s eyes still fixed on you, more or less. “Sorry, I’m not really strong enough to soften the throw for someone your size. Do you need a doctor?”
“Yes, Haymes, do you need a doctor, yoi?” You nearly jumped as The Phoenix spoke up from just behind you, his hand falling onto your shoulder firmly. Haymes, apparently, grew increasingly pale under what must have been a horrifically intense glare. You certainly weren’t checking to see it for yourself.
“N-No, C-Commander Marco!” The man stuttered in fear.
“Then. Get. Up.” The Phoenix hissed. “You know the rules.” He growled over your shoulder.
Rules? Oh. Right. Of course they have rules. Why wouldn’t they have rules?
What the hell were the rules?!
“Y-Yes sir, sorry!” The man scrambled to run away. After a few heartbeats, you turned your head to find that The Phoenix was giving you that mildly unsettling smile again. You… decided not to ask about those ‘rules’.
The Phoenix cleared his throat and tipped his head to the man standing just behind him.
Closer to your own height, thankfully, and a bit of a boxer’s frame. The man gave you a polite smile despite glancing nervously at his commander.
“This is Newt. Newt will spar with you a few times to see where you’re at. Polite rules of engagement.” The Phoenix stated before throwing a side glance at Newt. “I better not have to deal with any broken bones, yoi.”
You gave Newt a reassuring smile, having zero intention of breaking anything. Personally, you hated how it felt to break bones under your own hands. The sensation and vibration in your own body unsettling. Newt gave you a small smile back and nodded.
“Sure thing, Marco.” The Phoenix nodded his satisfaction and walked off the mat, choosing to lean against the wall to watch. You wished he didn’t but knew better than to argue. What would you even say?
‘Uh, The Phoenix, sir, man capable of healing all but the most grievous wounds, would you please stop overseeing a spar with a Yonko pirate? Thanks.’
Newt shuffled into place away from you, his stance much more appropriate and relaxed that Haymes. A little stiff still, but balanced. You guessed he preferred solid blows with his palms in rapid speed. Maybe a few punches to harder areas to knock the air from his opponents. Not much of a leg guy, you already knew he would plant himself and work from there.
Unfortunately for him, you had been described as ‘frustratingly wily and wriggly’. Constantly moving into an optimum position to redirect blows and strike.
You got into position and waited, in absolutely no hurry to make the first move. The waiting often got to people, not used to engaging in a fight with someone who doesn’t want to be there to begin with. Made them tense. Made them nervous. And Newt, despite being a capable fighter, was definitely getting nervous.
He grit his teeth and moved.
You leaned back slightly and forced his arm to follow the natural bend of his elbow to the opposite side of where he intended to hit you, unbalancing him. Your foot sliding out to knock him over onto his side, aided by the gentle hand pushing into his chest.
It was, perhaps, your most sadistic tendency to aim for ending a fight in the first move with as little wasted effort as possible. Without a lot of stamina, you didn’t have the luxury to entertain long fights. And as a marine, your aim was to arrest pirates as fast as possible. Was it a bit emasculating for your opponent? Yes. But it wasn’t exactly about honor, glory, or humoring people that you fought to begin with.
You fought because you had to. Everything else was secondary. You preferred to call it being pragmatic.
Newt blinked up at you in shock before grinning, laughing loudly as he accepted your hand in getting up.
“Eheh~ Wow!” Newt cackled, shaking his head. “Let’s try that again.”
You returned to your waiting stance.
This time, Newt attacked much faster.
He went lower this time, to your other side. Likely assuming that it was weaker.
You answering response was to pivot back and in the same direction that he was coming from, swinging in even lower to sweep his legs out from under him while he was overreaching.
Another straightforward blow.
You went in closer under his arm, turning your back to his chest as your foot hooked around his braced leg and throwing him over your body onto the floor with his own momentum.
The side again but not as low, swinging in wide.
You spun around him just ahead of his own arc and yanked the back of his shirt, sending him tumbling to the floor in shock.
Finally, a high, roundhouse kick to try and catch you off guard.
To be funny, you spun towards and around him twice, catching him on the second turn and spinning him away from you where he collapsed in a dizzy heap.
Newt was full on laughing at this point, sweaty arm covering his face as he panted for breath.
“Y-You’re supposed to try and hit me!” He cried foul. You offered your hand to him again.
“Sorry.” You said, not very sorry at all. “You look like I’d have a better time punching a brick wall.” He accepted it with grace and stood up, waving to The Phoenix on the far wall.
“Good enough, Marco?” Newt asked breathlessly. The Phoenix nodded with a half-smile.
“Yeah, Newt. You did good, now go shower before returning to Haruta.” The Phoenix declared. “I don’t want to hear any complaints about the smell, yoi.”
His eyes returned to you and you grinned nervously.
“Yes, The Phoenix?” His eyes narrowed and he slowly stalked forward, not helping your poor heart in the slightest. He leaned down until his nose was almost touching yours, hand gently bringing your sweaty forehead against his. You felt the fire flicker over your heated skin, tending to the mild aches in a wash of power. His eyes unwavering in their annoyance anyway.
“Marco. Just Marco, blue bird.” He grumbled. “You’re family now, yoi. No titles or epitaphs.”
You grimaced, gently trying to push him away from you. Rejecting, though softly, the whole ‘family’ thing. He didn’t even budge, his eyes the only indication he even noticed. The color turning colder as gold flickered over his lashes. His gaze looked less human and more predatory as he suddenly smirked.
The room exploded in blue fire as you were suddenly shoved down onto the floor. You yelped in fear, feeling talons press onto chest back as a heavy weight settled over you.
A gold beak broke through the terrifyingly beautiful display of living fire, dark blue mask and sapphire eyes narrowed down at you. It didn’t hurt, not even a little, but the pressure was a threat on it’s own. He cocked his head at you, waiting for your response.
You didn’t know why you weren’t as afraid as you really should have been. His talons were no joke. He could easily disembowel you right now and probably heal you back again in seconds just to repeat the process. He even looked mostly amused now, staring down at you with eyes only superficially human.
His beak clacked with mild annoyance that you weren’t playing along already or giving him anything to react to. Not even fear despite the compromising position.
Right.
Phoenix.
He’s on fire, sure, but still a bird. And you’ve never been scared of animals like others are. Even when they’re threatening you.
Somehow, his human form freaked you out more than the literal bird of fire. Which didn’t even burn. The flames licked at you freely with all the softness of a down feather. The heat negligible at best though feeling bizarrely cool. Like the shade on a hot beach.
Hilariously, the idea of calling him Marco now was less horrifying than when he looked like a man. More horrifying was the instinctive desire to coo at how pretty he was. Which was very, very pretty.
You should, under no circumstances, tell the Yonko pirate he’s a pretty birdy. Even if he really, really is.
He isn’t actually a bird. He’s a grown man. Intimidating you into using his actual name. And you’ve been staring for quite some time instead of responding in any particular way like a maniac.
“… For everyone or just you?” You asked faintly, still trying to refrain from cooing at his gorgeous plumage. He blinked in surprise, leaning down further to push your glasses back up with the tip of his beak.
“… Aren’t you scared of me?” He asked, settling down and removing his foot from your chest, merely standing over you. “You’ve been scared of me so far, yoi.”
You chuckled nervously, finally giving into temptation to pet his face.
“You’re a really pretty bird.” You explained, face hot with embarrassment. “Marco.” His feathers ruffled all the way to his tail in pleasure.
You distantly considered it a win he wasn’t insisting on being called some version of ‘brother’. You didn’t care how mesmerizing his plumage was, that was a step too far in your book.
He gave a pleased trill, running his beak through your hair briefly before the fire abruptly cut out. Hands pulled you up against his chest as he hugged you tightly, chin tucked against your hair.
“Now for Oyaji—”
“Absolutely not.” Rather than getting pissed off, Marco seemed to content himself with the ‘progress’ so far. Whispering into your ear.
“We’ll work on it.”

Perma-Bans, Petty Bans, and Poor Appeal Process
Recently I had my account banned for multi accounting. Now why would I be so pissed about this? Because the alt I had made was because of lost credentials and never interacted with the actual account I have, abandoned with literally two dragons in the lair the instant I got the creds for my real account back. But the account in itself isn’t where my peeve comes in. It’s the permanent ban of an active account after an alt was made two years prior. How was this alt found, you wonder? I sent a ticket in with the wrong email linked to my primary account asking about something related to copyright of FR on an upcoming project of mine. Okay that’s a little strange that I only got banned after I asked a question like that specifically, surely the appeal process will go fine when I provide context? Wrong! Even accused of funneling in the process (didn’t happen). What happens when the ticket staff are asked for receipts of said funneling? Permanent denial of response and ban stays in place. It genuinely goes over my head how genuinely abhorrent the process for handling potential multi-accounting is. I have met many people who have gotten away with very blatant funneling and multi accounting and willingly admitted it but are able to explain it away by lying in regards to something like siblings with shared devices. Even people who I personally have reported for funneling with verifiable evidence go untouched. How is this such a frequent issue? And why is it that people who make the most minor mistake of happening to make an account under a lost creds context gets all of their money and work zapped from them when people who do much worse in regards to TOS get off free? How is there no nuance to these situations by now? Are the staff just that petty and unwilling to work with the literal community that funds them? Why would making an account with zero work, interacts, etc be a constitution for a permanent account closure? Do the staff just not realize there is more punishment options than ‘oh you know what you lose it all, fuck you’? They have the ability to actually see context as clear by their forums punishment system, but refuse to take any strike actions on something with valid context? There’s so many other things that could be done, temporary bans, lockdowns on CR/AH, etc. But that’s just too difficult for them huh? What’s the damn point of the appeal function if they don’t actually bother to reconsider a choice? You cannot tell me either that gimmick accounts like nuzlocke form accounts aren’t also Alts. You would be a liar, and you would also be lying if you said that people don’t often make alts for ‘new starts. It’s honestly kind of funny at this point how many people ive heard the stories from who either got perm banned because they made an alt when they were like 14 and got banned 5 years later and stories of people actively funneling in major ways but haven’t been banned for years. The issue is so fuckin prevalent and yet half the time a ban happens because of it it’s for the most minor version of the rule break and almost never the people who actually violate the terms. “Economy advantage this, flight forums that” my ass. If the staff can’t hold even a small bit of understanding for such a minor issue which context resolves, maybe they don’t deserve the use of their site at all. Half the time I’ve seen staff interact with people they’re unbelievably rude and petty, especially Aequorian or whatever their name is. Always have to have a last laugh. But I digress. Maybe I’ll come back to my little account in 5 years time and appeal again and get denied. Kinda weird to think the accounts that had so much genuine time and effort dedicated into them are forced to rot for longer than they were ever active because of a faulty term of service and faulty enforcement of it.

Hi! Transfem who's been following you for a while here and is horrified by some of the stuff I see. How do I help? I just want to give transmascs a massive hug (if they consent of course) and let them know I'm here for them and I'm not trying to be patronizing or "poor weak transmascs" because every trans person is insanely strong and goes through a lot but Jesus Christ some of the stuff y'all face just makes me wanna curl up under a blanket and sob. How do I help?
Here are some general tips off the top of my head; I didn't want to just give surface-level advice so I hope this is helpful and not like. daunting lmao
Be educated about the workings about transandrophobia, and educate others. Spreading awareness about things like higher rates of sexual assault and suicide as major issues, and the ways in which we are uniquely affected by reproductive injustice, even without using the term "transandrophobia", brings transmasculine issues more into common knowledge. Just having people be aware that these struggles happen to us sets the foundation for us being able to talk about why they happen. If "transmascs experience the highest rates of SA and suicide attempts" becomes common knowledge in queer spaces, we won't have to go other our evidence for Why You Should Please Believe Us We're Begging every single time someone asks why we need a term.
On that note, when you can, use the term transandrophobia/transmisandry! Its kind of hard right now because naming the issue often derails the conversation from the actual issue into a debate over whether we should even talk about it. However, it would be helpful if the term started becoming less of a Hot Discourse Issue and more of an actual term people use to describe experiences and behavior. When something happens that is transandrophobic, say that! Just as we should use the term "transmisogyny" to properly name the issue. It would also be very helpful if, again, we did not have to re-explain Why The Etymology Doesn't Fucking Matter every time we wanted to talk about our issues.
This is more intensive, but the next step after just naming and defining the issue, and spreading awareness, is actually organizing and starting to do something about it. If you are a part of any queer groups/orgs, you could try bringing up transmasc-specific issues with them. I think it would be very useful to create more resources and awareness campaigns for transmascs dealing with sexual assault and suicidal ideation, as well as abuse and pregnancy and other things; in general, we need more spaces for transmascs needing support with vulnerable issues; spaces focused on cis women are not enough for transmasc issues. Make sure to support transmascs around you and help make sure their voices are heard and considered. when transandrophobic language is used wrt abortion and reproduction, call it out. & ofc direct monetary support to transmascs is always a good option.
Oppression is daunting, but we have each other. The fact that you respect our voices and want to help us is already helpful!! Having people who are just open to anti-transandrophobia activism and are willing to listen is what we need in order to have real change. In general I think a good first step is to be aware of what's going on around you, so you can recognize when there's a chance for you to do something. The revolution starts at home and all that.

TwiFicmas23 Day 7: Hybrid Jasper
Tumblr media
Good evening! Tonight, we have something experimental. I was trying to put together a one-shot that focused on Jasper as a hybrid because I'm equal-opportunity with my nonsense.
It's still in parts, and I'm not sure that I've captured the vibes that I'm aiming for, but we persevere. I kind of love the idea of Jasper being the vulnerable one and Alice being the protective one and wanted to riff on that concept. Some of the 'rules' and world-building are a little iffy at the moment, but first drafts always need a little work.
Thank you to everyone who has read, liked, tagged, and messaged me. Those tags and messages absolutely make my day and I love every single one of them.
I'm off to sleep off this cold, in the hopes that I can recover fast enough to finish off a couple of planned entires <3
on the edge of dawn.
His past is knotted up in secrets and lies.
And blood, he can’t forget that.
(It starts and ends in rivers of blood, in so many lives worth of blood, that it would be disingenuous not to acknowledge it.)
When he meets the eyes of the recruitment officer and tells him that he’s of-age, he’s not lying. He’s been a grown-ass man for a decade now; just because he’s sixteen in human terms is meaningless. He is more than capable of fighting a war.
(He fights to protect the people that raised him, the cousins who were really his little sisters. He goes to war to make sure that he can send money home, enough to keep them fed and warm and safe. He doesn’t need much, and it’s nothing compared to what they gave him.)
When he runs afoul of Maria, he expects it to be his death. One that is surprisingly appropriate considering his own origins. Instead, it is a fever that cooks him from the inside out, one that he stays lucid throughout, begging for answers, to explain what is happening for water, to know what has become of his poor horse. He sees a lot of people, strange people, that feel like they are all wrong but he doesn’t know why.
He thinks of his little sisters, and hopes that they’ll be okay. He saved a lot of his pay, sent it home, so maybe they will. Maybe they won’t go hungry or get sick.
Maria is exceptionally intrigued by him. This man who doesn’t die, who rambles at her, begs her. And even when the fever ebbs, his eyes are still a piercing hazel. He still bleeds and sleeps and breathes. But he feeds on blood, he can move at least as fast as the slowest newborn, and has a gift that he almost effortlessly weaponising.
He is a marvel, a miracle, a prize.
So she keeps him, and Jasper is mostly reminded of stories about hell from the Bible.
(He can never go home again.)
Her visions have shown him since she awoke, but he’s always been very strange in them - like he’s made of smoke and memory, faded and halfway gone. She doesn’t understand it, and it scares her - that very first vision, where he tucks a flower behind her ear and says her name - is her north star, and her touchstone. She doesn’t know who she is without him, and the idea that he could disappear terrifies her to the bone. No one else does that in her visions, and she can’t work it out.
Then she realises his eyes are hazel. Somehow she missed that little detail as she watched him fight and feed and rule Mexico in Maria’s name. They are such a beautiful shade, impossible for a vampire.
And then she sees him sleeping, and it terrifies her that he is so vulnerable and unguarded in such a terrible place. She feels sick at it.
He’s still an enigma, she still has questions, but it’s a clue. It’s something. It helps her shape and frame their future in her mind, knowing that he is not entirely the same as her.
It makes her feel useful, and that’s a nice feeling.
He remembers his mother a little too well. She had sharp hazel eyes and hair so light it was almost white. She’s already dead by then, washed out and still, and it’s a single frame in his memory. Something he should never be able to remember. But he does.
(Jasper remembers her best when faced with the bodies. The ones who were taken as a meal, and the ones that don’t survive the change. Bloodless and broken in every way that counts. Her face is always clearest in his mind as he gathers up those dead people, and maybe he remembers his upbringing and says a quick prayer for them. But it doesn’t take long for those prayers to be meaningless mutterings under his breath, part of the routine without any of the meaning.)
Sometimes he wonders what would have become of him in another life, with his mother perfectly dead. His grandmother had no love for him, not in those earliest days; a pious woman, she would have cast him out young if it hadn’t been for his mother’s brother.
For a long time, he’s raised by his Uncle Jed. Jed looks at him and seems to see past all the things that shouldn’t be and the things that make him strange, right down to the lost boy he is.
Jed gives him the family name - Whitlock - and puts him to work on the ranch. It’s a good life, and he likes working with animals, likes that the things that make him different make him useful on the ranch. He likes that he never has to see the old bitch of a grandmother that never let Jasper forget that he was the reason his momma was dead.
(His momma named him. She picked the name out herself and started embroidering it on a blanket because she became too ill. That’s something he tucks in the back of his mind, that possibility that maybe she didn’t hate him, maybe she even loved him.)
Then Jed meets Gracie Wainwright and Jasper is terrified that he’ll have to leave; that being reclusive and unseen is the only way he can stay there, outside San Antonio. Jed doesn’t even let him go to church except at Christmas; for Jasper to grown up, he must be invisible and it’s the one family law they all obey.
Except… Aunt Grace is his greatest champion, the mother he never had before. She is quick to teach him, bringing him books and teaching him his sums, how to sew on a button and darn a sock, and cook a hot meal - “Everyone needs to know these things Jasper, no matter where you go in life.”
And then there are the girls, he beloved cousin-sisters who climb over him and cling to him and are nothing but laughter and soft, kind things. Jed and Grace produce five of them, one after the other, all golden-eyed and blue-eyed and his favourite people in the world. Girls he would die for.
So he does. He goes and signs up for the army because he’s been grown for years, because he’s faster and stronger and doesn’t need food or water. Disease never seems to touch him, and there’s little-to-no chance that they won’t have to leave the ranch. They’ll need to eat and travel, and his stipend will help with that. It’s the least he can do.
(In her letters, Aunt Grace worries about him incessantly, tells him that Little Emma wanders around calling for him, not understanding that he’s not coming home any time soon; that his stipend has been useful in keeping them fed and well. Jed writes him and scolds him for running off and for sending them his money, but always ends his letters speaking of his pride in Jasper, and wishes to come home safely. Jasper’s always felt guilty he never made it back.)
Maria is oddly fascinated by the concept of his family, by how dearly he holds them, and how he still remembers them, still adores them. Vampire memories are supposed to decay; it’s considered a rebirth for a reason. He doesn’t know why his memories stay so vivid, but he treasures them. In the end, it’s easier and safer to stop mentioning them, to pretend the memories are starting to decay, so that Maria stops interrogating him, so that she thinks he’s finally behaving how he should.
//
The first time Alice sees Jasper bleed, she nearly screams. It trickles into his eyes and he swears, and she’s frozen in a vision that she cannot escape from. He swipes it off his forehead and sucks on his fingers a moment to swipe over the shallow wound.
And it’s sealed. Does he have a healing gift?
She doesn’t know.
But the visions start showing her the things that are to come. The Cullens are still a possibility, but Jasper will be more skittish about joining them, about letting others know about what he is. About having to live with more vampires after South. He’s terrified of Carlisle on so many levels, and the idea of school goes against everything his uncle taught him.
But she’s gratified that he seems happy when they’re together. That he sees something in her, the lost girl, that maybe he recognises.
I love you Jasper, and I know that we’re going to be so happy together.
And she does. She loves that he can walk in the sunlight without notice, but he still hates doing it. She loves that he has no special talent for languages, but has still managed to learn Spanish and French fluently. That he’s never learnt to dance, but he’ll dance with her. That at some point she’s going to try to cook for him, and it’ll be a messy disaster and he’ll just laugh until there are tears in his eyes and tell her that he loves her for trying.
Sometimes she wishes that she could share visions, pass them from her head to another’s because she wants to be able to save all of this for him, to show him that everything is going to be okay. Better than okay; perfect.
//
Peter is a blessing in disguise. At first, he’s only there to make trouble, only there to test the boundaries and question authority. He hears Jasper’s sluggish heart, sees the way Maria watches over him, and decides that Jasper is the weak link, and he just needs to exert the right amount of pressure to break him.
It goes about as well as expected, and something about the fact that Jasper is the one that returns Peter’s arm instead of throwing it on the pyre cements something between them. Loyalty, understanding, and a sense of fairness.
Friendship and brotherhood comes in time. But that evening, as Jasper realigns the joint and explains to Peter that Maria has tried to rip off Jasper’s arm before but the joints are weird because he was already venomous before being bitten, that it didn’t work. Did fuck up his shoulder for a while though.
Peter is fascinated. That he can be cut and bruised and broken, but they can’t do something as simple as tear him into pieces. That Jasper takes days to heal, and on the long sunny days they stay inside for, Jasper sleeps.
//
She finds him in Philadelphia and, oh, her heart breaks. In her well-loved dress and too-big shoes with the creases deep across the toes, she looks like a real lady compared to him.
He’s outside in the alley, trying to convince himself to go inside. She’s seen it happen both ways, and that’s why she was late. To make sure that either way, he’s going to find her. She refuses to risk it any other way.
In the flesh, he’s a lot further gone than she expected. Enough that she discards her coat and her shoes as she enters the alley, moving quietly towards him. He’s so thin, and his hair is a tangled mess around his face, and he bares more than one bruise. His clothes are woeful, filthy and too thin for the cool weather. He’s not going to survive another winter like this.
“Hello,” she says, and when he looks at her, his eyes almost pass as hazel, with the ring of fading red around the pupil. But he also looks hunted and haunted, like an animal backed into a corner. “I’ve been looking for you.”
She smiles at him, and he stares back for a moment before he relaxes a little. “I didn’t realise I had an appointment,” he manages, his voice cracking with disuse. He lets her get a little closer, looking at her bare feet, her green dress that has seen better days, the less-than-clean gloves, and the ribbon in her hair. Oh, and her purse.
“That’s okay, because I’m here now,” she decides to brazen it out, and goes closer to sit beside him except he stops her.
“You’ll spoil your clothing,” he says, getting to his feet and he’s so very tall. He has to look down at her, and she feels very delicate and precious as he does so.
“I have a lot of clothing to spoil,” she says honestly, and he still looks uncomfortable. “I’m Alice.”
“Hello Miss Alice.” He sounds uncertain but for her, it’s the most beautiful sound because it’s the very first time that she’s ever heard him speak her name out loud.

You brought this upon yourself man, be prepared for my sea of questions.
Given the Sitcom Au Age up AU(that is a mouthful) , and everything Abt it how do the twins react to (idk if your up to date on what little I have for that AU but imma ask anyway) Parker and Micah's Engagement, along with Bonnies multiple arrests for harboring runaways?
An extension of the last question, How would they(all of them, not just the twins) react to Parker's pregnancy?
Because they are both AuADHD how do they do in school? Like give the General, grades, friends, stuff they're good at, ECT,ECT.
Now, Sabrina and Dalia have a three year old named Jasper (I cannot remember if I posted him or not I have the memory of a goldfish. But for the record he's a very chaotic troublemaker who likes Nudibranchs and Sharks) how would the twins react to him? Would they like him, why or why not?
Bonnie would babysit the two in her Pawn shop, have they broken anything? And what do they do when they're stuck with their cousin in said Pawn shop?
Referring to question 1, would they like Micah? Do they like him, and do they like the fact he has a talent for music?
What are their all time favorite songs and movie?
How do they dress? Like, so they dress like Ramsey? Like an off brand Adam Sandler, ect. Ect.
Fav food? (Idk if you said this already I have poor memory)
Lastly, describe their relationship with their parents. Do they like one more than the other? Do they find certain things they do annoying? ECT. ECT.
What have I done?
I'll admit when I first started writing about the stuff down in my previous post I wasn't thinking about it in terms of what I had changed within the sitcom AU, just the boys ten years in the future. I think a shorter name could be "Timeskip Sitcom AU"
The twins are excited about the engagement, they have listened to Parker ramble on about Micah, so they know she truly loves him. However when they were first told that they did eerily stare at Micah for several seconds without explanation. In regards to Bonnie, it's complicated. Because they have Percy for a mom the twins know "Crime is Bad". But since Ramsey is their dad they also know that sometimes bending the rules is necessary. Some people with autism (like myself) tend to be very black-and-white concerning what is right and wrong. The twins are like this but because they are young they aren't quite sure what to think.
I think the whole family would be happy about it. I think some of Percy's traditionalism would have her be slightly upset Parker got pregnant before getting married but for the most part, she's excited. The twins would immediately ask Parker how she got pregnant leading to Ramsey pulling them away because he doesn't want to explain what sex is to his ten-year-olds. Later on Booker and Parker would compete by pitching baby names to Parker.
Both boys do well in school and take more after Percy regarding the pursuit of academia so they are motivated to do well. However, Patrick will get lost in thought, and that unfortunately tends to happen right before the teacher calls on him. Booker on the other hand absently mindedly makes popping noises with his mouth which can be disruptive at times. In regards to socialization, Patrick tries harder but most of his interests don't match his current generation which makes it harder. He still likes cartoons and stuff but his favorites are the ones before his time, so he has a bit of a harder time fitting in and it makes him sad. Booker has an easier time socializing but he doesn't have as strong a need. If someone needs book recommendations he'll rattle on for several minutes. The boys have the same friend group. While they don't need to be together constantly they see little purpose in being friends with someone who doesn't like the other twin. Patrick likes building stuff and is pretty good at it, but his favorite thing to build is marble tracks. Patrick's math skills are somewhat higher than the average ten-year-old but he isn't aware of this. He also has a pretty good track record with those challenges to guess how many things there are in a container. He's also good at staring contests. Booker likes reading and while he doesn't write, he's pretty good at analyzing what he has read. Despite inheriting his father's hair color, he did not inherit his art skills. Booker also has worse handwriting than his brother but has a better memory. Neither twin is good at sports but Booker has remarkable hand-eye coordination.
Patrick and Booker have had to prevent Jasper from eating marbles and wax perspectively. They like him as long as he isn't actively trying to destroy their stuff. However, they are afraid of accidentally making him cry because they don't want Sabrina to "curse them forever".
The twins have probably dropped small fragile objects before and probably cried while apologizing for breaking them. Unlike most fictional twins (like Zach and Cody) the twins are pretty well-behaved and will sit behind the counter quietly. But if Bonnie steps away they will immediately try to man the register so they can "do business like grown-ups" Results are mixed.
The twins do like Micah and are impressed by his talent for music and while they do like it, it isn't their all-time favorite music. Micah is good at babysitting them and that's part of why I feel like Micah is excited for the baby. However, after the engagement announcement, there have been other times when the twins will stare at Micah with no explanation.
Here's the thing. All of our media doesn't exist in the Epithet Erased Universe. But I suppose I can say what they would like if it did. Patrick's favorite movie would be The Lego Movie and his favorite music is classical, particularly piano, and would like the Piano Guys. Booker's favorite movie would be Tangled. In most instances, he prefers the sound of women singing over guys. Despite this his favorite band if they existed in the EE universe would be the Oh Hellos.
Ramsey may like the way he dresses but Bonnie has threatened him with violence if he made the twins dress like him. The twins prefer long-sleeved shirts and pants. Hoodies are also very common. (Listen I don't know much about fashion) They don't wear matching clothes but the stuff they wear looks good when they stand next to each other.
I have indeed mentioned their favorite food before! But just for you I'll add their favorite dessert too! Patrick likes buttered sourdough toast! Percy accidentally bought sourdough bread one time instead of the usual wheat bread and Patrick loved it so it became common. Patrick's favorite dessert is lemon meringue pie. Booker's favorite food is popcorn and he prefers it with an excessive amount of butter and salt. His favorite dessert is frosted sugar cookies.
Both twins love their parents equally however from an outsider's perspective it would look like they love Percy more because they idolize her work and sense of justice. It's just a matter of knowing each parent specializes in different things. Patrick will ask his mom for architectural advice when he makes his marble tracks. However, when it comes to help with talking to people he tends to ask Ramsey for help. Booker likes going to the library with Percy but he also takes drawing lessons from Ramsey. Both kids know if they want to eat something sweet they have better luck asking Ramsey but they are more likely to cling to Percy when they get scared. Both twins get grossed out when Ramsey does tricks with his gold eye and they just look at him when he tells dad jokes most of the time. They don't think they are bad, but they don't laugh either. Percy sometimes has issues when critiquing her children when they ask for her help and she can be a little blunt. Of course, she doesn't mean it and she is trying to be better about it.

Hoo boy, so how long before we get potential discourse on how this comic contradicts the established Crash Bandicoot timeline?
After all, Crash Purple/Spyro Orange had Ripto and Cortex meeting prior to Rumble ever being a spark in Toys for Bob's eyes.
I would say spin-off games in the series are kind of loose in terms of the canonical narrative, but Crash Bandicoot has kind of been an exception to that rule, in that characters first appearing in the forty billion racing spin-offs seem to return (Oxide) with implication that said spin-off happened, or the rest of the games supported extensive cutscenes and an actual plot that it stands to reason that they could all feasibly have happened canonically.
Rumble seem to follow in that; there's no plot to be found within the game, but these comics have served as nice bits of lore for us to chew on. There's not much to hone on, but would I not be a foolish student of Crashology to leave even the shallowest narrative uninterpreted? Unexamined? Left to rot in the sun like that?
I never bought the idea that Crash Bandicoot 4 was meant to be a thorough reboot of the franchise sans the OG Naughty Dog games, because there really wasn't much to contradict that latter games after Crash 4 still couldn't happen. Dingodile joining up with Crash's team (at the least, pragmatically, he seem to be a neutral force here driven by circumstances more than anything) might be the closest cutting off point since he's working for Cortex come Wrath of Cortex (Crash 4 never explains why he quit the ol' mad doctor's group, he just did for some reason), but now that Rumble's out, particularly with this comic, I'm now beginning to wonder if this is the creators' way of essentially wiping the slate as clean as they could and starting the franchise off from scratch.
And I think it needs it.
Oh, for sure, I'd argue it's yet another reworking of the franchise (Crash of the Titans kind of felt like one, even if, as far as I know since I never played it, they don't technically disown the timeline prior to its release) to revitalize and retool the poor series yet again, but this time, there's been a decade long gap - long enough for fans to lament what could have been, what we wished, and eventually, move on from it (well, some of us anyway.)
I was ready to call the franchise dead in the waters by, like, Year 8, wistful that they didn't get the send-off it deserved. Fact of the matter was, the last few games or so have just been a complicated, hot mess. Nobody seem to know what the hell they wanted to do with Crash the moment it fell out of Naughty Dog's hands. Not from lack of trying (and some developers did try), but it lingered around as either a pastiche of the OG game, a wacky-for-the-sake-of-wacky that varied in tolerance with its humor, or a sea of Dreamworkian pop cultural references - it was a mess. It was a HOT. MESS.
THIS comic, however, seem to signify that yes, come Crash 4: It's About Time, the whole ass franchise, after a decade of nothing, whih came after a decade of identity crisis, meant not only is this semi-reboot expected, but is downright necessary.
You could arguably just make A New Crash game that fittingly continues where it left off without acknowledging any of the past games, but with the assumption that it all happened, but ripping off that loaded, blood-chunked bandage for something visibly new, is probably the best this series, at this time, is going to get and ultimately needs.
Cut off the excess and start from where it was at its most simple, then slowly reintroduce the latter Crash elements. It does suck, if you are a fan of the latter-era Crash fans, to essentially be told after CTR that the rest of the games after is potentially no longer canon (Crash 4's announcer during the end credits certainly lampshades it, too.) This comic pretty heavily cements it, but man, it already does it so much better by introducing Ripto back into the Crashverse in just two pages of a comic versus an entire GBA game where he and Cortex... somehow share a universe and just... team up, I guess???
Of course Ripto crashes the party via a portal. Crash and Spyro's worlds are two vastly different places that sharing it together, while not impossible in the right hands, is tonally contradictory. Spyro's world is fantastical whimsy, Crash is sci-fi madness.
And it isn't like latter Crash characters cannot return. Crash 4's ending showed that absolutely CAN be the case.
Tumblr media
Guys. GUYS. Nina's still here. Those two awful chicken announcers are still here.
The OG Crash games never really had the deepest stories, with only literal floating heads occasionally spouting the next motive. Having Crash 4 start from there WITH an elaborate narrative is probably the best starting point. There is no reason why any of the others cannot return in new, interesting roles while paying lip service to their older roles.
Setting aside complicated feelings on reboots notwithstanding, Crash Bandicoot really did needed a reset button, and if it means retooling the established canon in a metaphorical Crisis of Infinite Earths way, then so be it.
So yeah, the comic basically told us Crash Purple/Spyro Orange did not happen. And damn it, I think that's for the best.
Tumblr media
On a final note, love this panel. For sake of gameplay, you're allowed to pick whichever character you want, but Rumble's lore seem to imply that villains stay on their end while, presumably, the heroes stay on their side. I guess Ripto serves as a third wheel who decided to muck things even further.
Also, I think Brio is saying Spyro's Japanese translated name, which is amazing cuz' anyone with basic Spyro trivia knowledge knows Ripto's name came from how the Japanese letters look when spelling out the purple dragon's name.

Welp. I tried a phone session and it did nooot go well. Poor T.
We were off to a great start, because she actually finally got to reading the book excerpt from A Closed and Common Orbit. (I sent it over a month ago, but there were also holidays and such).
It did feel helpful and connected when we discussed that.
It went downhill when I shared about some triggering things this week and I basically saw time slipping away while we weren't getting anywhere. I started to get pretty upset and little things affected me a lot at that point. T said some things about using the body in therapy and trusting that you already have all of the ingredients for healing (which pissed me off... not sure why).
She kept talking about it all really abstractly and I think I just really wasn't getting what I needed. Nothing to hold on to. Just theory. It made me feel like she doesn't understand what she is doing, not reaaaally. Otherwise I would expect you can explain it in more concrete terms.
Then there was also the thing where she exaggerates everything I say. She acknowledged it and says it is what many clients need and she can't just turn it off, but she is trying to turn it down. I really respect that.
I'm just also really angry and irrational atm. Maybe it's the still being ill thing. I just don't have the patience for taking care of her and guiding my own treatment. :(
I'm sure I'll take a deep breath and have some more nights of sleep and then I'll be fine. But for now: fuck this shit!!! Fuck not being able to tolerate stupid memories. Fuck them still affecting me. Fuck my parents for sometimes actually doing pretty evil things. Fuck not having normal relationships with my siblings. Fuck being scared of every little interaction at work. Fuck needing to guide your own therapy. I feel like you should be free to do that, but you shouldn't HAVE to do that and I know for a fact that other clients don't have to. For them T IS able to show up and fuck that as well. It's unfair and I know it's useless to be upset about unfair things, but fuck that as well.

stede and ed and communication and e8 breaks my fucking heart, the short version.
so: from stede’s end, he’s in an ever-more wildly spinning nightmare. he woke up to chaos and his shit getting blown up, jack is an ASSHOLE, he’s monopolizing all ed’s attention and ed is going along with it as well as not picking up on the array of hint flares stede throws at him and then understanding what they mean and reacting accordingly, the crew keeps siding with the frat pirate from hell, the pained smiles he starts throwing out this episode pain me— this sucks for him. this suuuuucks.
but from ed’s end, his bro from back in the day just rolled up and he’s excited to try and merge his old life and his new one. shades of jim and nana, but calico jack is no nana. he’s not factoring izzy’s fucking insane embrace of a bootlicking plan into things, so he thinks stede and jack are giving each other a shot, not that stede is trying his damnedest despite poor communication to give jack a chance and jack is just here to fuck shit up for eeeeeveryone.
(because if nothing was Afoot, ed would probably be right! i get the sense jack would just say ‘fuck your nerd fetish, no chances shall i give ed this guy is weeeeeeeiiiiiird and super gay as in uncool, now let’s stab shit or fuck, unlike izzy i am a gross toxic pirate who actually fucks’ if he wasn’t here to be the world’s most arrested development flavored honeytrap. jack using tactics from stede’s world while wearing the aesthetic of ed’s world: veeeeery narratively cool.)
anyway. stede and ed both have no idea what’s actually going on there, re: The Plan, but here’s where things get really interesting— i think if two very small moments of communication go better, jack can’t work his grody magic and the episode unfolds very much another way.
moment one: when ed comes to check in with the... admittedly seemingly somewhat obvious if you think about stede for point five seconds ‘hey, should we like... not blow up your stuff???’ question. ed’s ready to hear he fucked up, he’s not going to take it hard or be mad at stede. he introduces the idea and assumes yeah: shit. look at him. i fucked up.
and then stede, having been trained in the ways of Never Being A Bother (OR FUCKIN ELSE) is like no! i love it when people blow up my things! this was something i would have done anyway.
he is obviously not telling the truth, ed is like ...well. that seems untrue but you said it, so... okay? either i believe this or you’re lying to me in a way i need to be wary of, because three episodes ago you explained passive-aggression to me and i don’t see it as a social nicety as well as a weapon, i’m only seeing it as a mode of attack.
which: in a way, this helps shove ed harder at jack. stede thinks he’s making this easier on them both by not acknowledging that YEAH, ed, that’s not cool? i AM annoyed? because honestly, if you’d been thinking about my feelings at all when you did it, this conversation would not even be happening. what actually happens is that now ed is aware stede’s unhappy but cannot be entirely sure why. that sets him off-balance again in a way they had been working past since e7′s breakthrough, fuuuuck i love this team.
so. if stede says there, because ed clearly is ready to hear it: yeah, you fucked up, that changes how ed approaches the situation going forward in terms of not just diving headlong into the thrill of seeing an old buddy and falling back into your old patterns together.
second moment: the breakfast table. if stede says in that moment something along the lines of ‘sure, jack can eat with us! why don’t we grab another plate. i don’t mind waiting to start until he has some food, too’, the gameboard switches up again.
one moment of setting a gentle boundary and reminding ed that understandable nostalgic impulses aside, stede does not like being left out and is having a particularly rough time with this version of it, and jack’s shit loses power.
because ed doesn’t want to hurt stede. not even a little. he wants to have fun with jack, and i imagine is telling himself that if stede and jack can get along, this means stede can accept him but maybe even more: that ed can accept these changes in himself. (since izzy, the other avatar of ed’s past, was like literally the fuck i hate this man more than i’ve ever hated anyone and edward. edward. i RUN ON THAT SHIT.)
ed’s pushing on this so hard and needs it to work for reasons that are all about his own internal process, stede’s holding back for the exact same internal reasons, it’s all understandable.
and if two itttttty bitty moments go slightly different: nigh on entirely avoidable.

a few (okay, maybe quite a few) scattered HOTD thoughts now that i’ve finally caught up:
yay for having a sick day in bed to catch up
the good:
1. definitely a better written show than GOT even in its heyday, and that’s because a lot of the character moments are about showing vulnerability and conflict, not about seeing who gets to say the cleverest line. hotd falls into that sometimes too, but it pays more attention to character
2. the battle/action sequences - i rarely ever enjoyed them on GOT but they’re sparse and well done here, at least for now. the dragon scenes have also been pretty good
3. love the fact that we have so many unsettling/creepy/indefinable dynamics and that hotd dwells on them and doesn’t let you forget lol. i also think this show is doing a better job at depicting the “shades of grey” for every character in terms of morality.
4. the acting is pretty solid all around
the bad (up to this point):
1. that whole wedding sequence in episode 5. started out promising. loved alicent’s bad bitch entrance. and then...??? ser criston cole just went nuts??? and it was so chaotic and confusing and unconvincing. i assume that we will return to that whole mess at some point? because it was not explained or fleshed out and it makes no sense why they just let criston get away with it. sure, we could argue that the two houses might’ve been relieved to see laenor’s paramour die....but they’d never do that to poor laenor and they wouldn’t have left the culprit go unpunished. was that whole sequence meant to be confusing and dissatisfying? maybe i’m just dumb and didn’t get it
2. ser criston cole. is just. a cartoonish 2-dimensional villain now? i don’t get it. they’ve shown they can write characters with enough complexity and deftness that we both understand where they’re coming from and condemn some of their actions. but i guess they just gave up for ser criston? and decided to turn him into a weird incel. and how is he not dead or exiled after what he did??? what sorcery did alicent pull.
3. laena’s death. how did a pregnant woman manage to run past everyone, including daemon, and get down to the shore? why did no one stop her? what a waste of a character. i looked up her death in the book....and the changes they made are strange. i like the idea of her choosing to die like a dragon-rider, but everyone’s absolute negligence of her, and her sudden desire to die felt out of left field. laena struck me as someone who wanted to keep fighting, not give up.
ship stuff:
- daemon/rhaenyra is solid and have plenty of chemistry, but maaaan, she should’ve been way more angry with him after episode 4. i feel like he got off far too easy (which i guess is a running theme with all his pretend exiles). he struck me as pretty callous and calculating, even if he was also conflicted and drawn to her. i’m srsly waiting for her to put him in his place when they’re married. i need that to be a “rhaenyra is boss” family. in general, daemon is fun but also...kind of obnoxious. i think we’re maybe making too much of him, but matt smith does play the asshole type well, what can i say. i guess what i am trying to say is that i see them less as romantic soulmates and more as "we love each other and use each other” kind of targaryen flavor. which frankly makes them more appealing to me
- harwin strong/rhaenyra - very sad and cute and wholesome. would definitely read smut
- alicent/larys strong - deliciously creepy vibes, but more in the vein of cersei and qyburn. on board.
- alicent/otto - god, i love the fraught & repressed father/daughter relationship. we had too few scenes with them!! love the toxicity, love the devotion, love how otto pretends not to see alicent’s misery, love everything about them
- alicent/rhaenyra - liked them better as youngins, i feel like the tension between them as older women is somehow...less interesting? idk. i still hope they have more interactions in the future. (i loved that montage in ep 4 where rhaenyra was having a blast and alicent was staring at the ceiling in boredom and agony as viserys did his business. the queer longing alone!)
 - alicent/daemon - that one rarepair/crackship i’m probably going to obsess over. i already have an elaborate oneshot in mind. i love ppl who almost never interact but who would have such interesting one-on-one conversations. also the fraughtness of daemon/viserys, and how much daemon probably resents alicent for “taking” his brother. anyway!
- alicent/criston - i could be down for this in the scenario where alicent just steps on him repeatedly and he thanks her for it. ugh. really bleh about ser criston.
- alicent’s targ kids have interesting sibling dynamics.....i assume more incest is coming from that corner too lol
(sorry yall, most of my ships are alicent ships because olivia cooke <3333)
- laena’s girls! baela and rhaena! i want them to have ridiculously complicated subplots & romances, i want them to take center-stage! least they can do after wasting laena/daemon
i think that’s everything for now. i’m kind of wondering why we’re doing all these time jumps and why we’re not taking our time. have we not learned anything from GOT? anyway, i’ll probably share my final thoughts after all episodes air.

”That sucks man but at least now you’re on speaking terms again.” Seokjin sighs. He half-heartedly agrees because he did move back into your shared apartment but it’s far from how it used to be. You’re distant. No more cooking together you don’t even watch shows together on the couch after your late night writing sessions.
You said you’re working on your book and he knows it’s the truth because your blog is deleted by the time he tries to check it out.
You meant it when you said you want to forget about the last couple of weeks and while you pretend it never happened – it’s clear that it still bothers you. You’re avoiding him. Even in friend outings you’re barely speaking to him and choose the seat farthest away from him. Everyone noticed the shift in your dynamics but no one dares to comment on it. Namjoon advised him to give you time, you’re probably just feeling embarrassed and he couldn’t blame you when he reacted that way. The things he said – he wishes he could just turn back time and take a deep breath instead.
Ever since he played with the thought of you and him in the same sentence it become clearer that he could actually picture it happening. Too bad he’s weeks late and now it seems like you will never open up to him again.
”Barely. She’s still avoiding me Joon.” Namjoon finds his older friend’s pout comical.
”Clearly since you’re out drinking again. You know that if you get drunk it doesn’t mean the situation will solve itself.” Of course, he knows it. Jin annoyingly sighs again and Namjoon has to bite his lip to not tell him to stop whining and instead do something about it.
”I’m just so lost about what to do.” Jin swirls his drink looking intently at the bottom of his whiskey in case the key to his problems will be somehow buried under the fifth cup of alcohol.
”Well – did you try to apologise?” Jin snorts. Namjoon could barely hear his answer murmured under his nose. ”Of course, I apologised that was the first thing that I did.”
”Did you explain to her why you reacted that way? That you gave it a thought and you would like to try something if she’s still interested? Did you tell her that?”
It’s the following silence that has Namjoon shake his head in disbelief. For the first time since he arrived Jin looks up from his drink and looks kinda panicked.
”S- She didn’t let me explain.” Even he knows it’s a poor excuse. The truth is he chickened out. He was confused for the longest time if what he started feeling after you ignored him is genuine or if he was just missing the normality you two always had.
He’s still not a hundred percent sure but he probably never will be – all he could do is try and see what happens. That’s life. There’s no guide on how to live your life just like there’s no guide to tell him if things would work between you two. He just needs to take a leap of fate and hope for the best. It’s also easier said than done.
”You need to try until she listens. She deserves an explanation Jin. As I see it she probably avoids you so you couldn’t reject her again. She doesn’t know that you’re not trying to do that – she only goes with the assumptions your little outburst created in her head. The only way you can fix your relationship with her is, to be honest. Tell her how you feel. She’s not a mind reader you have to spell it out for her to understand.”
Jin knows Namjoon is right. The question is what he’s going to do about it.

February 23, 2023
Hi. I haven't "blogged" in years, not quite sure what's compelling me to now. I don't know who will even read this anyways. I've got a lot of my mind, as I've spent the last 2 days in thought whilst puking my brains out with a stomach virus and laying down in a fetal position. Yay for stomach viruses.
Little background on me: Almost 29 year old mom of 3 boys (5 and under), married for 10 years now, Christian, politically incorrect, Texas, SAHM, and homeschooling. I feel like that info alone will deter most people who find this blog.
So what's on my brain? Well, about 2 weeks ago I took Instagram & Facebook off my phone. I've checked it a couple times because groups/businesses, but not scrolling or going through stories. I initially removed the apps to focus more on prayer, particular when it comes to us finding a house. The house we finally committed an offer on recently did not work out mind you...which disappointed, God, but I'll trust something better is coming up. Regardless, it was good for other reasons too because social media definitely has a negative effect on me. I should probably remove TikTok too, tbh. Anyways, the biggest lesson I've learned thus far is that Not that many people give a fuck about you, and you also don't give a fuck about them. Yet social media gives this illusion that you all do. I also take less pictures/videos because even though I mostly did it for myself, I evidently was also doing it for others and because why? I don't know, like I need to prove I have a nice life or something, boredom, hoping someone will start a convo so not so isolated, Idk. I have a list I'm forming of people who actually reach out to me and who I think to reach out to and after a full month, these will be the only people I will actively dump my energy into, because obviously that's where it naturally fell. I keep finding myself being way too good of a friend to people who really don't care that deeply for me. It's really a shitty realization. On the flip side, I've noticed people who I hardly paid any mind to or would even call a friend insist that we're good friends, lol. Weird.
Speaking of energy, being part of a homeschooling co-op has been a total energy sucker. I'm not a group person, I knew this going into it, and yet I tried to go out of my comfort zone and continue to try to stick it out when I'm truly not enjoying it whatsoever. The kids love it though, we all get along great with similar values, it's just..... people are inconsistent and not as committed to the group. With me being the organizer, this leads to me constantly feeling frustrated by turnouts or lack of input/response, etc. I can't even fully explain it. I just keep praying for guidance on this and I know that if I was to just end things that it would end potential great long-term friendships for not only the kids, but for me. At the same time, I'm like if this isn't working out seamlessly already, why keep trying so much, especially when the effort is almost entirely on my part or people working through me, which I also dislike. Especially if I end up relocating further away from everyone since that's where our housing price-point keeps leading us.... shouldn't I be more involved in a community there?
Lastly, I wish my parents would move closer already. My grandma needs to pass, this poor old woman is miserable at 97 and barely hanging out. It's been thing after thing after thing. I hope and pray she passes soon and that my parents feel peace over it all. They are in desperate need of a break. Back when we lived closer to my parents, there were far too many issues. My brother was mentally unstable, my mother was in a terrible place physically and mentally as well, but fast-forward 5 years and things are so much better and now I just wish we could have simple family dinners or attend church together, get the cousins together for a playdate, or go on a nature walk with my mom. I always feel unsettled. Forever feeling like I don't belong where I'm at and that I'm missing something or supposed to be somewhere else. I don't know how to reconcile that.
And there's my first blog post. /end

Netflix
-------------------------
Chapter summary: Nosaka does not know many slang terms because of the Ares program. Anna almost gets a heart attack because of it.
Genre: Fluff/humour
Pairing: Nosaka Yuuma x Mikado Anna
Other characters: Kira Hiroto, Haizaki Ryouhei, Fudou Akio
_______________________________________
Mikado Anna pulled her hair up into a ponytail and pulled of her sleeves. Today she was on dish duty and it was right after dinner. She calmly turned the sink on and started her job. She quite liked doing dishes, in fact, Anna found it calming.
"Oh Anna, there you are," a boy behind her said making Anna glance over her shoulder.
"Hello, Nosaka," she greeted and turned her attention back to the dishes.
"I was wondering... Would you like to Netflix and chill tonight with me?"
The plate fell from her hands and back into the sink with a loud bang. Anna whipped her body around so fast that she was sure she might have broken her back if it was any faster. Her face started growing more red than Tatsuya's hair.
"I'm sorry... What?!" She almost shouted.
Nosaka smiled in return.
"I said - would you like to Netflix and chill."
If it was even possible, Anna's face grew redder.
"Wha- I mean...- Nosaka that's-" she kept stumbling over words, feeling quite embarrased and shocked.
"Anna, your face is all red. Are you feeling okay?" Nosaka asked now concerned.
"Nosaka, what exactly do you mean by Netflix and chill?" She finally formed a proper sentence.
"To watch a movie or a show and just chill." He answered now a bit confused.
"Nosaka... that's... not what people mean when they say Netflix and chill to a person."
Nosaka Yuuma chuckled and scratched the back of his neck.
"They don't?"
"No, they do not."
Anna could feel her heart beating fast, she was sure she almost got a heart attack. It was quite obvious Nosaka didn't know much slang because of Ares. Just last day Yuuma had asked Fudou what "Material growl" meant after he had heard Akio say that to Anna in a conversation. Fudou Akio had faceplamed and just told him to ask someone else. Unfortunetaly, Hiroto had to explain it to him while Haizaki just laughed his ass off nearby.
"What does it mean then?" Yuuma asked.
He was smiled at her so sweetly and Anna's face grew red once more.
"Well.... Um... When guys or girls say that they usually mean to get...intimate.." Anna tried her best to explain it even though she was embarrassed.
"Oh, you mean like hand holding and kissing, right?" Nosaka once again scratched the back of his neck, growing a bit embarrassed.
"No, Nosaka, that's not it....they mean something else."
"So what do they mean?"
"Nosaka, they mean the birds and the bees...." Anna was now mortified and wanting nothing more than the ground to swallow her whole.
"What does it have to do anything with birds or bees?" He was now even more confused.
"Jesus Christ on a bike! I see why Fudou and Hiroto almost started hitting their heads on the wall while explaining 'Material growl' to you" Anna exclaimed, facepalming and cursing to everything that the universe made Nosaka go to her to explain this.
The boy was quite startled to see Anna curse.
"Am I that bad at slang?"
"Yes, yes you are," Fudou now appeared in the kitchen out of nowhere and Anna wanted to jump out the window. "Let me guess, he wants you to explain what Netflix and chill means?"
"And how exactly do you know about this, Akio?" Anna said accusingly.
"I offered him to go practise some more but he said he wants to ask Anna to Netflix and chill with him. I knew it would be hilarious so I followed him. And I was not dissapointed," Fudou laughed at the poor girl's situation.
"So what does it mean then? You are not helping Fudou." Nosaka asked now a bit annoyed.
"They mean the thing," Anna tried again.
"What thing?" Nosaka questioned again.
"Oh for the love of- they mean sex Nosaka. When a guy tells a girl that he wants to Netflix and chill with her, he means he wants to bang her." Fudou finally ripped the bandaid off, putting them both out of misery.
Anna looked everywhere besides Nosaka, she was mortified, awkward and quite happy Fudou had finally saved her.
"Oh..." was all Nosaka said before growing embarrased and blushing.
"Yeah, oh. Now leave the poor girl alone before you give her another heart attack." Fudou said and started pulling Nosaka out of the room before Nosaka could say anything else.
Anna deeply exaled and returned to do the dishes, her face still feeling like it's on fire.
"HE ASKED HER WHAT?! OH MY GOD!!" Anna heard Hiroto's loud voice from the living room and loud laugther, followed by Haizaki crackling like crazy.
Ootani is going to have a field day when she finds out....

i'm going on a short break.
uhm. things have not been going well.
i will be taking a short break (maybe a week, or so?) to get my shit back together and start working on writing again.
and while i'm at it, i'm going to explain what happened under the cut. there are triggering themes in here so please take caution when reading this.
my adoptive dad and i are not on the best terms and i don't think we'll ever be able to live how we used to.
i was very sheltered growing up (so much so that i only recently learned how to use the stove and washer, and i'm turning 19 this year) and a lot of how i act and the way i respond to things is based off what my adoptive mother did to me, and what my adoptive father *didn't* do.
i never knew how to do anything, and was considered "spoiled" by a lot of people but i don't look at it that way. i mean, sure, i had everything i needed and more but the one thing i can say i never truly had:
parents.
my adoptive mom was sick. like, she couldn't walk, sick. oftentimes i had to do a lot of shit for her. my adoptive father was always working. he was never home and when he was home, he'd never talk to me and go straight to bed.
my (adoptive) mom was really abusive. mentally, physically, you name it. and a lot of people excused it because of her "poor health". it grew so bad that i had started cutting my entire arm up. (i think i had over 100 of them, i counted. i was so angry that night.) she was allowed to do things to me that my real mom would fucking kill her for. she also touched me inappropriately for three years.
(she also pinned me to the bed to do smth to my face for some reason? i was screaming for help but the other family members looked at me like i was crazy. the only one who believes me is my real mom. i love her.)
she also screamed at me for wanting a men's shirt. a full-black shirt with the pac-man board on the back of it. ....alright. (she said if she saw me wearing it at the time, she'd rip it off me and burn it. i was like, 13.)
i also say "was" because she's dead. and i hate to say it but good fucking riddance. oh but razz, it's not right to speak ill of the dead. she wasn't a good person when she was alive, she sure isn't when she's dead.
my father found out about me cutting and told me to basically suck it up. we never talked about it again although it continued to happen for 4 more years. (thankfully, i'm three years clean now. :thumbs up:)
when mom died, a lot of responsibility fell onto him. i was 15 when she died.
and he still treated me as if i didn't exist.
i was never important to him, never someone worth caring but his own children were. and i hate to fuckin say it, but if i was his own child, he'd pay more attention to me.
i've asked him for stuff that should've been taught to me. how to prepare myself for real life, how to do things that he can show me, but he's so obsessed with his reality ("money is everything") that he doesn't seem to notice. or maybe he does but doesn't care.
don't get me wrong, i love him. he's been a father figure to me all my life. but...
he's accused me of being a thief multiple times (i was not), told me that i needed to be put in a mental institution, and said that i was basically good for nothing. he also canceled my therapy appointments without telling me, and misgenders me constantly even though i remind him and remind him that i'm trans. (i've been out to him for two years, and out to my family for one.)
i know that he's old. (he's 70.) i know that he forgets things but goddamn it, he remembers all of my sister's shit. why can't i be special?! why am i the failure kid?!
i wish i could make up with him but lord knows i'm not forgiving him. i will fucking cut him off. i don't care if i'm in his will anymore. he pulled the same "you'll be sorry when i'm dead" shit my mother used to pull and to that i say "FUCK YOU".
that's the main story of everything. i could get into much worse (i've been through everything) but that's enough venting for me. sorry if i've made anyone uncomfortable.

Scooter is a highly manipulative person who is also an enabler of sorts when it suits him. I think to characterize him as only someone who wronged Taylor Swift by buying her masters doesn’t fully take into account what he’s done with many of his clients even the ones he still has a relationship with such as Justin Bieber. There is a great article encapsulating some of his good and bad points in the Business Insider but it’s behind a paywall. Here is a recap in case people want to know what is said. https://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/122854380.html
I think this might set people off... OKAY here goes...
Firstly, I'm going to add something to part of your ask because I've read that Business Insider article, and unlike it I prefer a more balanced approach...
"According to some, Scooter is a highly manipulative person who is also an enabler of sorts when it suits him."
The whole Swift/Braun situation is very nuanced, which VOX covered quite impartially back in 2019...
As a side note, they have a fab quote from one of Taylor's then friends (not sure if they still are but considering recent controversy, I find the quote very humourous) ...
Tumblr media
I think today, many people are thinking the same of Todrick.
One could argue that all Braun did was make a savvy business deal that benefited him. A deal that Taylor didn't like and started a PR campaign (with the support of friends) against him despite many people backing Braun. Now what she claimed about him might have been true, but I don't think what he did (when buying her old record company) was a terrible thing. She (in her own words) had the opportunity to purchase said masters, but obviously she wanted to keep going on about Braun, so the deal didn't happen and he sold them off to someone else.
My guess, Braun is merely a ruthless but talented businessman, who was quicker to the punch than Taylor.
OH and here's the original Business Insider Article (my uMatrix extension helps be bypass the paywall):
The article tries to be balanced, but clearly is an article intended to paint Scooter in a poor light, which is even more interesting when you consider the writer of the piece has written several articles about Swift, mostly in a positive light and terms... and why might you ask may that be the case, well it seems she's a big ole Swiftie...
"SILMAN: ...As for my hopes, well, I guess I'd just say that Salon has had so many entertainment writers who I admire hugely come through its doors over the years, so I just hope to be able to uphold that legacy of quality, and to contribute my own voice as well (and of course, by “my own voice” I mean lots of coverage of Taylor Swift and her cats)." - Source
