NFS Unbound's OST has a cringy identity...

In November 14th 2022, EA has revealed the OST (soundtrack) of Need for Speed Unbound, I wasn't very impressed on the songs of the OST. There are a few songs by musicians I respect like Danger Mouse and clipping.. That was it. I heard of ASAP Rocky, Charli XCX before, but I'm not a fan of their music personally. In December, I managed to play the story mode and multiplayer with the music on. The songs that were playing on the background were cringe to hear and insufferable. I....didn't like it.

There's no EA Trax (to pick the songs you want to play or not) in Options, so I turned the music volume off. Back in NFS Most Wanted (2005) had EA Trax that I wouldn't bother to turn off the background music. If Criterion Games' goal was to have a subgenre rap, hip-hop OST in NFS Unbound, they got it and there was no going back to change the songs.

Last February, I uploaded that short video of NFS Unbound's soundtrack is ehh....

that goes without saying.

My music preference has changed drastically for the past decade ago that I prefer to listen to darkwave bands, synthpop, synthwave (thanks Hotline Miami) and ambient ones.

The hip-hop soundtrack didn't change my preference to get into its weird vibe. The few techno and electronic songs won't cut it. Though Mura Masa's Deal wiv it and Lous and the Yazuka's Je ne sais pais are good.

At the time I'm writing this post, nothing has changed. The gameplay core is still pretty great in online multiplayer mode. ^^

Whether I boot up this game, I listen to my own soundtrack on Spotify.

It's strange I don't revisit this alternative playlist, maybe I would.

I do like this game.

Akalis and Suron saw the elementals and people and beings of Petrus as something that could be used, both in their armies as weapons and also as servants and other things...

Their powers were also extremely interesting to Akalis and Suron, who had already done experiments and tests on elementals, they wanted to see and use such abilities, or maybe even try to replicate them on citizens of their own people (although this was never possible, not in a scientific way at least, although some wizards managed to learn -with difficulty and some deaths- to control some of the elements, but nothing that reached the feet of the control and power of a born elemental)

You had always known Aragorn had a thing for Arwen, it was obvious as day.

You’d grown up together, well, you and Arwen had anyways, when you first met Aragon you were unsure about him at first.

You stayed by your father, only speaking to Aragorn when you had to.

As time passed, you grew closer to him, but you were still no match for Arwen.

When you heard about the quest to have the ring destroyed, you were worried for everyone’s safety. Especially the hobbits who had to partake in this journey.

“Are you able to join them?”

You turned to your old friend and offered him a small smile.

“I can, do you want me too Bilbo?”

“Yes please. You are by the most skilled healer there is, they could use your help.” He sighed.

You nodded your head, offering him a small bow and a smile as you stood back up again.

“I will take care of them the best I can.”

You told you father about Bilbos request and as much as he didn’t want to to let you go, he knew that he wasn’t going to be able to stop you.

You were stubborn, he knew that as much. And he knew you owned Bilbo a favour.

“You’ll be safe?” Elrond asked.

“Of course father.”

He kissed your forehead and took a step away as he gave you a small nod.

“Then you have my blessing, stopping you will be nothing but pointless.”

You grinned lightly and nodded your head as you rushed away to get everything ready.

As soon as you were ready you left, you knew exactly how to find them all and it only took you a matter of days to catch up.

When you found their campsite you jumped from your horse and pat her neck slightly.

“And the princess arrives.” Gandalf chuckled.

Smiling, you hugged him lightly before pulling away.

Turning around you greeted all the others and sat down with them.

You knew Aragorn was burning holes into the side of your head, so once everyone else had fallen asleep you wondered your way over to him.

Taking a seat next to him, you gazed up at the trees.

“It’s far too dangerous for you to be here, you know that.”

“Of course I do, but I have a promise to keep and I worry for you all.”

Aragorn nodded and gave you a small smile.

He started to tell you about your sister and how he was sure to come home for her sake.

It hurt you, but you said nothing.

As the journey continued, things got worse and worse.

You were stretching yourself to keep everyone safe, and you were having a hard time focusing your energy on them all.

As the final battle dawned upon you, you were exhausted but you still carried on.

Anyone in danger near you, you were sure to save them, bringing any of Surons soldiers down as you passed.

You were trying to find him.

Aragon.

But it as hard, though as soon as you spotted him it as hard to focus on anything else.

He was struggling and you rushed over to him.

You were so far but yet so close but as he got closer you could see how close he was to dying.

The soldier behind him raised his sword and in a split second you screamed his name.

Aragon looked up, and he was immediately on the floor while a pain seeded across your chest.

Everything hurt, and you fell to your knees.

You could hear anything.

Could barely see anything.

And as you back hit the cold ground all you could do was stare up at the sky as the sword that struck you came towards you again.

It stopped, clashing with another and Aragon stood above you as he tried his hardest to keep you safe.

The war waged on, and as much as he wanted to protect you he was growing tired.

But as quickly as it started it ended. And while everyone else was celebrating Aragon was on his knees next to you, hand gently pressing to your cheek.

“(Y/N)… wake up…” Aragon whispered.

You eyes were open, but they didn’t seem focused.

But at the sound of his voice, they turned turned to him but they were still flicking back and forth.

“Heal yourself…” he begged.

“I… can’t…” you rasped out.

“You have too!”

You make a grunt of pain as you shook your head, bringing your hand up to clutch your bloodied cloak.

Blood dripped between your lips, and you reached up a hand to cover his.

“(Y/N), heal yourself please…”

Tears burned his eyes, he couldn’t loose you. Not now. He’d come too far with you to let you leave his side now.

Giving him a weak smile, you took a raspy breath.

“I… love you…. But I know… you’ll never pick… me…” you whispered.

Aragorns eyes widened a little, and he cupped your cheeks.

You wheezed slightly, and his tears dripped on to your face.

He brought his head down and rested his forehead against yours.

He’d been so busy with everything, he never realised that you loved him, and now he was going to be too late.

Everything he planned with you was going to be gone and there was nothing he could do to stop it.

Gently kissing your cheek, he pulled you on to his lap.

“I love you too…”
