Surprise...!

There was this someone I met a long time ago. I had no idea what it was, but it felt strange. And different, almost like a shadow. A darkness and light. Like I saw beauty in it's rawest form.

Have...have I met you before?

We got closer and I liked it. I enjoyed the strange ride and after a while we got even closer. We almost Saw each other and that's when I freaked out. It was waaay too much. NooOOooo thank you very much!

So I distanced myself. I took different paths and shut myself off. No thank you.

I couldn't face it. But shutting off hurt like hell. As if something within me started to die. A darkness that spread.

I tried to keep it at bay but something had happened and I was not the same. The more I tried to shake it the worse it got. Like a fly struggling for it's life in the spiders web. Yeeeeees...please kick and scream.

I did. To a point were I barely was breathing and the darkness had me in it's deathly grip. One more kick and I would be gone.

So I had to face it. I had to cry my eyes out and crawl into fetal position. I don't want to die!

I didn't. As soon as I faced myself the spider slowly released me.

It wasn't the same. I was always looking over my shoulder, terrified that this Thing would be there. Always taunting, forever haunting. HellooOOoooo.

I couldn't kill it so I had to learn to live with it. And I hated it. I screamed, swore and tried to bury it alive. GET AWAY FROM ME!

But as soon as I felt like I was close to me theeeeere it was, just behind the curtain. This...Thing, this...Monster. This hellish horrible being that I couldn't stand. Gross, stupid and ugly. The worst of what this planet could produce! The pus on the amoeba? Ha! You Wish!

So I kept struggling, many times for my life. The same story just kept playing oooover and over and over and over again; haunted, almost dead - then relesed.

Many years have passed and it JUST hit me. I didn't know it back then, as in I would NEVER in a million years would have guessed. I mean how could I?

...

The one I met so long ago was none other than...Me. It was Me looking in the mirror and I got terrified. I was the shadow. I was the raw beauty. I was too much. I was the weirdo.

I was the thing worse than pus, I was the one I couldn't escape and without me...? I slowly died.

...

I still can't face that mirror but I know now that...*sigh* I have to learn. I try to at least run passed it and give it a quick glance.

Hi...! Ok bye...!

So what do I do now? I think I have to face this. I have to face Me. Sloooowly. As in babysteps. Learning that I, in fact is Not a weird pus that I should try to kill. That I instead should try to see who I actually am.

But facing it head on will just leave me running for the hills so I have to do this slowly. Maybe the snails will pass me, if that's the case then so be it. As long as I am taking steps to becoming whole and becoming ME then sure.
