So I got Day of Dragons because it looked like a fun survival game where you play as a dragon but the community makes it so fucking NOT fun

Like it takes 4 hours of real life playtime to reach adulthood and then youve got folk who deliberately hunt other dragons so that no progress is ever made at all.

Especially acid spitter drakes. They cant fly but they run faster than you can hit them and they seem to specialize in just ruining it for everyone.

I wanted to just be a dragon for the sillies but I cant even have that

Port Arbington, North Carolina is an ocean side quarantine zone still standing twenty years after the initial outbreak of the cordyceps brain infection. Survivors have sought out refuge provided by FEDRA in the quarantine zone, but FEDRA's militant hold on survivors is making living in the QZ feel more like a punishment. With every additional restriction and the survivors are looking for new ways to seek the freedom they feel they deserve.

RenegadesQZ is a semi-appless survival roleplay based off of the video game turned television series The Last of Us. Several groups of survivors are fighting for control in the Port Arbington QZ while others are just looking for a way to keep living in the infection ravaged world.

I've gotten multiple comments from Tiny Frog Wizards beta readers to the effect that Imprecation is an overpowered Arcanum because, by the rules-as-written, "perish" is a perfectly valid curse which only requires a Control value of 1.

To this I observe:

If that's the most overpowered thing you can think of to do with an entry level spell, you need to think about some of the other Arcana a little more carefully; and

By the rules-as-written, "explode" is also a valid curse. Just saying.

Baroque (1998) is a post-apocalyptic first-person action RPG taking place inside the Neuro Tower, a mysterious place nobody dared to enter before.

It's a game that uses death as a core mechanic to advance the plot, rather than resulting in a game over.

Developed by Sting Entertainment for Sega Saturn, it later got ported to PSX, PS2 (remake), Nintendo Wii, and Switch (JP exclusive).

It looks and plays similarly to the classic Shin Megami Tensei games. (Fun fact: Atlus published it for NA)

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, it shows us a world hit by catastrophic climate changes on May 14, 2032, after conducting an experiment to understand the Absolute God.

Its surviving humans got physically twisted by manifestations of guilt, pain, and suffering.

As the amnesiac, mute, and nameless protagonist, you are picked by Archangel and tasked with entering the Neuro Tower.

You have to advance its levels, find the Absolute God, and fix the world.

Each floor is randomly generated and your aim is not to reach the top floor. It's to reach the bottom.

You explore the floor, gather items, fight enemies, and reach the next floor. The usual dungeon-crawler gameplay.

Upon death, contrary to other games of the time, it doesn't result in a game over but rather teleports you back to your hometown. Every death progresses the narrative, unlocking new dialogue and areas. It's a core part of the game.

You are able to save some of your items using consciousness orbs and gather them on your next playthrough.

Throughout your playthrough, you get to meet NPCs and have various dialogue options with them. Through these encounters and other contextual elements, you learn of the game's overall story.

LIFELINE

I release a tabletop rpg every week.

This week's is based on those survival horror games where you play as someone doing tech support for the real protagonist.

You work in a call center, taking calls from final girls and inadvertent cosmic horror protagonists, and attempt to coach these callers through their situations.

The callers instinctively trust you, but you're limited by their capabilities. You don't roll your stats. You give them advice, and they roll theirs. They also can't stray too far from the phone.

You do have a resource called Battery that you can spend to bend the odds in your favor, and every supernatural threat can be countered in some way, but your caller isn't exactly built to brawl it out with the boogeyman, so you may need to walk them through building traps, blocking doors, or simply running.

LIFELINE is inspired by games like Killer Frequency, Operator's Side, Home Safety Hotline, and also older stuff like Critical Path.

Been working on this since September. I'm so fucking happy it's done, but more over this is a revision from a piece I did in 2014.

Parasite Eve is a survival horror/scifi/fantasy RPG from Squaresoft back from 1997. The game takes place during December around Christmas time, following the events of a horrific event that took place in NYC's carnegie hall. You play as Aya Brea who is a NYPD officer investigating the events that transpire in the days following the Fire at the Opera. The PS1 game is a sequel to the Japanese horror Movie/ and book which is by the same name.

It is one of the first PS1 games I ever played, and it holds a very special place in my heart.
