This is a nighttime (3AM) ramble so excuse the bad from that

But Noelle’s post here confuses me

Because she didn't write out a Valentine's Day card, she (likely just) repurposed a Family Christmas card to give out

Y'know, like the ones you produce hundreds of to send out to your never-will-meet relatives every Christmas

Something that's been pointed out to me as uncharacteristically lazy of her

You'd think that she'd want to hand out these gifts of appreciation to her classmates, like say Kris who is probably the lens which we're reading the Deltarune's characters cards through

Yet instead she just takes an unmailed Christmas Card and hands it out

While fitting of her whole Christmas shtick, she just doesn't seem the type to not at least write "Happy Valentine's Day" over "Happy Holidays!"

Which got me thinking why?

Why would she disregard this particular holiday?

My knee-jerk reaction is Susie, she doesn't give a shit about her other classmates receiving something small like a nice card because that means diverting her efforts from Susie

And while that lines up with her in-game motivations alright... it still feels awfully mean or uncaring of her

It's not like she completely disregards Kris during The Newest Girl Girl (just mostly given the whole "I wish they'd let us switch spots so I can be the one bullied" thing) so even then it's hard for me to fathom why she wouldn't write out a letter

So my next, and current opinion is that Noelle may have some issues with this time of year, Dess's name being a whole month, Christmas being over, the cold (although that one could be a comfort, she has yet to clarify)

All of which contributing to make it hard to apply herself in general, let alone to cards that people aren't gonna care the most about for a holiday she currently doesn't care all that much for, minus maybe the excuse to approach Susie, but we all know she's been keeping her eyes on that Dragon Tail prize regardless of upcoming Holidays

Now the Meta Reason why Noelle doesn't really write an entry is because none of the Lightner Main Characters write one, Susie hijacks like a sentence of one of Ralsei’s, and Kris doesn't write any, so if Noelle wrote one it'd be too obvious shipping food for one ship and hell'd break loose/giving us an idea on how Noelle actually feels about another character might be a spoiler, just like if any of the other Main Characters wrote to another it may be a spoiler

Regardless I'm open to thoughts, lemme hear what yall have to say

looking back at susie's cutscenes during planet robobot now, the way she interacts with kirby - specifically her body language & mannerisms - kind of strikes me as someone who doesn't exactly understand modern social cues & is solely going off with what she knows via her interpretation of popular media

i think it'd make sense considering how she may have just left the another dimension & joined her father's company possibly only several years ago

of course, she's as intelligent as she claims, but she's just not very street smart outside of business etiquette

it'd be cute if there was ship material surrounding her slowly learning social cues by the help of a person who probably understands them quite well (considering how they portray a cool, suave persona & are very self aware of it), but that's just me...

breaking off into a side tangent, i feel that a lot of people completely miss the really amazing potential of susie hal left despite how horrible her lore, story, etc. was treated, especially by the localizers (looking at you star allies)

like many have said, she hits home in so many ways, yet majority choose to use that as a way to antagonize her instead of the relatability hal tried their best to instill in her - she's not entirely a form of escapism unlike majority of the cast, she's a metaphorical reflection of our reality & the idea that there's still some hope in that reality despite how grey it seems oftentimes

anyways: SCREW YOU LOCALIZERS, I JUST WANT MY TRANSLATIONS, NOT A BOTCHED LOCALIZED VERSION, MIGHT AS WELL CALL HER "SUE" THE ENTIRE GAME IF YOU WERE JUST GONNA DO THAT

So in other words, as any reasonable person already knew, there was obviously a disclosure process before appointing someone to an incredibly high profile job.

And obviously, the FOM took appropriate mitigating steps because they were aware of the conflict of interest and knew it was part of their role to keep it from becoming problematic (because secondary interests are not inherently problematic, they occur every. single. day in most industries).

And obviously the FOM, a massive organisation with high-powered lawyers on payroll know how to set up a COI policy properly.

And obviously, this entire investigation/internal review was fuelled by the “reporting” of one man known for writing sexist and borderline libellous hit-pieces on women in motorsports.

And obviously, the FIA gave into that public pressure because a) sexism and b) lack-of-spine-usitis

But of course we had to spend a majority of this week dragging one of the most successful women in motorsports through the mud because there was just no way of telling if this was a merited investigation on its face. But hey, at least it serves as a reminder to anyone up-and-coming in the motorsports world that your presence in it as a woman is always going to be doubted, maybe we were starting to forget that!
