Anakin: *training Luke* Okay son, the first thing you need to do is learn how to use your lightsaber with only one hand.
Luke: Why?
Anakin: Don’t worry about it.

i’ve seen a few people recently blame obi-wan for anakin turning to the dark side. and i’m genuinely curious why? (this turned out longer than i expected)
i’ll explain how i see it, but i’d love to see others takes on this.
i’ve always blamed palpatine for it. he quite literally groomed anakin from the moment he became a jedi. always talking to him, complimenting him. palpatine fed lies upon lies to anakin who could only agree with him. how could he have known any better?
anakin not being as open with him is not obi-wan’s fault. palpatine probably fed lies that obi-wan didn’t trust anakin. or that obi-wan didn’t want to train anakin. (Not that extreme but close)
and anakin has always been unstable. he was a slave until he was 9 years old. he had to leave his mother behind. his mental state was fucked. this already gave the emotional pain that palpatine needed. then anakin seeing his mother die. he probably talked to palpatine before obi-wan.
and yes after anakins fall obi-wan blamed himself. he blamed himself for not heeding dooku’s warning, for not doing something about anakins weird relationship with the chancellor, for not being able to save his fallen brother.
but i don’t understand people actually blaming obi-wan. he didn’t know. how could he have ever known? palpatine is t h e sith. his fucked plan was executed to perfection. even if obi-wan tried to step in it probably would have ended the same.
please share your thoughts on this

Petty discourse time, shawty.
If you put Jotaro Kujo and Anakin Skywalker in the mf boxing ring and you said “you two throw hands. No Stands, lightsabers, or the Force.” Jotaro Kujo would win.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anakin is not from a family line of throwing hands. Anakin’s grandpa wasn’t throwing hands with vampire gods and Anakin’s great great grandfather wasn’t throwing hands with an evil British vampire.
We’ve seen Jotaro Kujo just throw the hands with no Stand. We know that he don’t need that Stand to square up.
Jotaro is 6’5. Anakin is 6’3.
Anakin’s metal hand will not give him an advantage over Kujo because Anakin has never squared up with somebody with actual hands. Nobody in the whole Star Wars universe has hands like the Joestar family.
“Oh well anakin beat up Clovis” Clovis is a nerd like I could body Clovis if I felt like it.
Anakin doesn’t have the Joestar resolve either like Kujo is one them dudes who will not fold until the end, Anakin is a notorious folder.
So yeah, that’s why I know Jotaro Kujo would body Anakin Skywalker in hand-to-hand combat.
Star Wars fans, im sorry but you can’t counter this because Anakin’s Jedi training doesn’t mean he has hands.

okay but if i see someone saying that “luke wasn't love enough as a kid” again, trying to explain luke's obsession with his biological father, i'm throwing hands
beru whitesun and owen lars do not deserve that kind of slander
both risked their lives and loved their son with their lives, beru whitesun is maybe the most lovable, soft, kind and attentive mother in star wars and no one can tell me otherwise

Ah yes, the "evil" family.
I thought it would be even more funny if it was Luke, of all people, the one who wanted to watch Bloodbath in the Black Moon of the Dragon System.

"As written, the ray-shield scene was longer than what ended up in the movie, and I was sorry to learn that one bit of humor was cut. Originally, the trio discuss how they might escape, and Palpatine has a suggestion: surrender and work out a negotiation. He gives his whole pitch to the Jedi and, once he's finished his speech, Anakin and Obi-Wan turn and look at each other as if nothing had been said." (via john knoll, visual effects supervisor, creating star wars)

Can Star Wars fans explain to me why y’all think Sheev Palpatine is evil? Like he isn’t comedically evil like Dio Brando (I hate em and he terrible but he handsome and funny ish) and he isn’t evil evil like Griffith/Femto is (real mfs know I don’t gotta go into Griffith’s crimes against humanity and my happiness as a reader)x
I understand that in the EU they added a lot of dlc crimes to Sheev Palpatine but in these films he’s really not that bad like Luke Skywalker has an higher body count than Sheev if we’re going off direct kills.
Like you watch these films and they do a bit of telling about how evil the sith are but we never see anything that viscerally evil. Meanwhile, I watch jojo and Dio is actively ruining the life’s of characters I love even beyond the grave. And in Berserk I don’t even want to get into what the fuck Griffith turns into in a span of 3 films (Ik the manga but still)
It seems Sheev’s only crimes is being ugly and in ROTJ he electrocutes a man with an 1m+ kill count who’s a terrorist. I dunno it’s just not giving evil
Y’all hype this man up like he Satan 2 but nothing he does ever eclipses Femto and that’s the only fictional character I really can put the Satan 2 title on lmao

(possibly) hot take: force sensitivity isn't a hereditary trait, nor should it really be. the skywalkers are the exception, not the norm. and they're only the exception because, you know, anakin's dad was literally the force. he was literally force jesus. he's literally half the force. i cannot emphasize enough how much he cannot be used as an example for normal force sensitivity

"Natalie Portman had numerous costume changes in Revenge of the Sith, but she loves what they called the deep blue 'end dress,' which she wore in her coffin in the funeral scene.
