what gets me about obi-wan telling leia that he wishes he could say he’s her real father is that it’s not strictly out of any fatherly emotion (although he does feel responsibility), it’s more that he wishes he could take the burden of her biological parentage away from her. he wishes leia didn’t have to be anakin’s daughter because he doesn’t wish the pain of being anakin’s family onto anyone, least of all a child
