Questies to SW:ANH heroes

In Behind the Magic, Amar talked baout being the Harrison Ford character. We made a joke on the @whattheforce discord about him actually being the Chewbacca of the group because he's older, taller, and hairier.

Well I've done some thinking about the group and I have a whole new analysis of the situation...

Airk is the damsel. This is known. He also has a change in hair style. Airk is also often dismissed due to his pretty face. Airk is Leia.

Kit has a cool sword but she's not Luke. Jade was seperated from her family and sister but she's not Luke. Kit is from a city and Jade if from a forest. Kit and Jade are Han and Chewie.

Willow is literally an old wizard. He doesn't get sacrificed but Willow DOES give psychic advice to Elora to help save the day. Willow is Obi-Wan.

Elora is the one reaching her magical potential and taking her first steps into a larger world. It's up to her when it comes to red vs green energy weapons. Elora gets psychic messages from an old wizard. Elora is Luke.

Boorman is seperated the whole fight due to a locked door. Boorman is making off color comments that shouldn't be said in polite society. Boorman has a long history connecting back to people's parents. Boorman has lockpicks. Boorman is R2D2.

Graydon gets sacrificed in the end but we know he comes back like Obi-wan. However Graydon spends time chatting with Boorman and Elora and Willow, he has a lot of book knowledge but isn't as strong physically. Graydon has damage from previous operations that is erased when he is rebuilt. Graydon is fluent in other forms of communication. Graydon is C-3PO.

I had another (see: Krrsantan!) random “oh what?! I know that character!” realization recently - thanks to your writing - while listening to the audiobook of SW:ANH From A Certain Point of View! Myo, whom I otherwise only knew from Arise, Ascend, showed up in one of the short stories.

Just wanted to pop in and say (1) hi, I actually spend time away from tumblr thinking of your writing out in the real world meatspace, and (2) I really love the way you weave underutilized canon bits into your works and the way it makes everything feel more fully fleshed out and real 💕

Han goes from “I don’t care about anyone but myself and maybe Chewie” to absolutely desperate to pull Luke out of the garbage water and then once the walls start closing in and they’re doomed his first instinct is to manhandle Leia onto the safest spot he can find

he goes from refusing to help save the princess to charging headlong into blasterfire and a squad of stormtroopers to give the other two a chance to get back to the ship

all in the space of like thirty minutes

Ron Cobb’s concept art for what became the Hammerhead in the Mos Eisley cantina, later named Momaw Nadon the Ithorian. This character appeared on screen briefly but memorably, unlike Cobb’s unused design for a walking plant person, which only became better known when West End Games got access to Lucas Films files of concept art and created the Expanded Universe.
