Spiderstar and crew

The final cats of old Skyclan (they make me sad :( ). We have Spiderstar and his deputy Honeyleaf, the medicine cat Brackenheart, dead cats 1 and 2 Sunpelt and Fallensnow, then Swallowflight and Beechpaw. Frostclaw and Rowanfur left to become kittypets. I hope they lived together.

Naming Minor Characters Post under the cut

Super Edition... Edition! Some Super Editions are getting new names in WCR to better fit with their rewritten state and new themes.

Starting with Firestar's Quest

Plump, long-furred snowy-white tom with brilliant blue eyes that looks like Cloudtail - Oliver! Cloudtail's dad!

Tortoiseshell molly who tries to beat up Firestar - Sweetpea! She was absolutely named by a 4 year old!

Lowbranch's mom/Skywatcher's grandmother - WE WERE GIVEN A NAME FOR HER! Her name is Honeyleaf. Her husband was Swallowflight. Honeyleaf was the last deputy of Skyclan.

Skywatcher's father - Pebble, I like to imagine he was a brown tabby.

Pricklenose's kits - I'm gonna give her 2, to match Lowbranch. Flykit who grew into Flyfoot, who would later father Patch/Patchfoot, and Sheepkit, who grew into Sheepclaw, and would mother Hutch/Shortwhisker.

Clovertail's Ex, Rockshade, Bouncefire and Tinycloud's father - Hail, a Rogue. He has bright yellow eyes like Bouncefire, and is pure white like Tinycloud (who is now hard of hearing from birth)

Hutch's mother - Sheepclaw, Pricklenose's superstitious daughter.

Foxy and his brother - Foxy actually has a description. Red tabby tom with cream-colored paws and tail tip. His eyes are blue. His brother is now named Wolf, pure gray with blue eyes.

Clovertail's mother, implied Riverclan ancestry - Canonically, Clovertail is hinted to be related to Birchstar of Riverclan and relative of Heavystep (the other hint that she is of Riverclan heritage besides her swimming) so... Her mother is Shine. Shine is the missing sister of Lilystem, went missing just days after her warrior ceremony and was never found. She had fallen in love with a loner and left Riverclan, settling down near the gorge and eventually having Clover, but never giving up her love of water. (Her warrior name was Shinestep) the Heavystep line is directly descended from Birchstar, the same one who rejected Skyclan.

Story:

Skykit‘s mom died the day he was born. Maybe it would have been better if she had died giving birth, but instead Swallowflight had gone out for a walk while already weak and was killed by a loner.   

Skykit was fascinated by the body, and the skin torn off of half her face. How would that feel?  His older sister shooed him away, not letting him see his mother after she was dragged into camp. Mistheart was rough, and harsh, and believed it was his fault. 

After all, he and his dead littermates were why their mom was already weak. If you asked Quietkit, Swallowflight was reckless and it was her own fault. Skykit was fascinated too by the mean prankster, and despite Mistheart trying to keep him away from the strange older kit, they became best friends.   

Quietkit was basically an orphan, with his parents leaving him in the nursery for another queen to take care of. Both of them probably would have died if not for Mistheart, but in no way was she their mother.   

When Dewkit was born, Quietkit and Skykit were forced to sleep in the dirt at the edge of the nursery so that their aggressive behaviour didn’t hurt her. On one of the very few times Skykit was left with Dewkit, he was watching over the little kit when Quietkit brought in a mouse to fight over. After tearing Quietkit’s ear, he leapt over to the prey and mistakenly sunk his claws into Dewkit, her ribs crushed and lungs pulled out by his claws.

Story:   

Quietkit was the result of an accident, and when he was told as much he made it his mission to make as many “accidents” befall the Clan as possible.   

His parents left him in the nursery to be tossed between the other queens, none of them wanting the bitter and snarky kit. He found a friend in a kit born not long after him, Skykit, and that’s where their story really began.   

More and more pranks turned violent, resulting in Quietkit’s name being changed to Goblinkit just before his apprenticeship. With his partner in crime, they ran away to haunt the forest. He decided they should become warriors not even a moon after “training” together, and they named each other. But, overall, they were still barely six moons. 

They spent a lot of time in the abandoned buildings at the edge of Twolegplace, and were attacked by many rogues and kittypets, one of them assaulting Goblinfrost soviciously that he tore his tail in half. This led to the two deciding to kill the cats around them who were cruel. 

Rogues who hurt others. 

Kittypets who abandoned their kittens. 

Mentors who abused their apprentices.   

They were very violent and tortured many, many of these cruel cats.   Throughout the Clans, the warnings spread that if you heard the haunting echoes of skinned cats, they would play games with your life. And that they did: setting up traps, making deaths as slow and sickening as possible, making it a competition.   

When the deep-rooted, sadistically intimate rivalry they’d created wasn’t satisfied by hunting stray cats, the pair decided to start testing those attacks on each other.  

It started as small hunts, slowly getting more severe. On the last hunt, it resulted in both of their deaths. 

Goblinsnap found a trap one night, a long silver wire foxtrap, and he led Gremlinfrost into it after Gremlinfrost pulled his eye from the socket. He skinned Gremlinfrost’s leg before tying the fox tail around his leg to slow the bleeding.  

They continued the hunt, with Goblinsnap’s paw skinned and Gremlinfrost’s leg skinned. When Goblinfrost’s neck was broken, the skin hanging off in stringy chunks, he attempted to climb up the tree to where Gremlinfrost was.   Gremlinfrost, having pulled a pine branch from the tree, jumped down and slammed into him which sent them both falling. They were found washed up on shore, a branch impaled through both of their skulls.   

Their clanmates grieved for the loss of two small kits, and never knew of the short life they had lived after leaving the Clan.

...thinking about tadpolehop and breezewhisker [breezepelt go brrr] being friends. sure, they're cousins, but they're also just pretty similar. they're both from litters of three with one girlie, have a brother training to be a medcat, and they're fiercely protective of their siblings.

and... after the thunderclan cats start a fight with the skyclan ones at the beaver dam, for a while they think they both lost a sibling that day.

the beaver patrols end up fighting on top of the dam, and the beavers, well, they're smart. they aren't going to raise their babies in a place where bullshit like this happens so they dip during the fight.

...the first death is actually an accident. dawnclaw was probably going to kill petalnose, so bouncefire threw her off of petal, but he didn't exactly pay attention to where she was getting yeeted. her head went crack and breezewhisker was furious. petalnose returned the favor bouncefire did for her... but it cost her her life.

from that point on, the skyclan cats had to fight as hard as they could, just to survive, and creekpaw takes a nasty hit from maplesplash, but before any more skyclan cats can die, the logs start shifting rapidly.

most of the cats manage to get off the dam before it bursts, with maplesplash being the only exception. he gave up his chance to run to throw thistleheart to safety, only to get washed away.

the trip back to the clans is melancholy not just because of maplesplash's death but also because dandelionstem's wounds get infected and she dies even though breezewhisker and tadpolehop both do their best with the herb knowledge they learned from their siblings.

foxleap and thistleheart are blaming themselves over maplesplash's death. thistleheart knew something terrible was going to happen and swallowflight tried to get the others to listen, but no one did.

and foxleap? he could have focused on the dam more when it started to give, instead of being the first to solid ground like a coward. at the very least, he could have kept the dam together long enough for maplesplash to get to safety.

...the trip back is when the cats slowly start to piece together that they all have powers, which causes a scandal at the gathering that's held upon the patrol's return.
