“I can see the headlines already; ‘Redhood to the rescue’”, Tim says, and he’s smiling - a gory sight as blood bubbles up behind his teeth and spills from the gaping hole in his stomach.

“Jesus, Tim. Shut the fuck up,” Jason snaps. He’s frantically trying to stem the blood flow using a decorative cloth he yanked off the closest podium. He quickly taps the side of his helmet to activate the earpiece before applying firm pressure to the wound. Tim barely reacts. “Guys, we have a fucking situation! I need someone, anyone. Right now. In front of the main entrance to Wayne Tower.”

Oracle responds immediately. “I’m sending Batman and Robin to your location. What’s the situation, Redhood?”

“It’s Tim, he’s been fucking shot. Came from the commercial building to the east of the entrance, 7th story and fourth room from the left.” The cloth is soaked and useless and Jason’s hands are covered in blood. He wants to gag, not because it’s blood but because it’s Tim’s blood. “Hey man,” he says to Tim, “stay with me. You’re gonna be okay.”

Tim’s breathing is shallow and forced. Blood dribbles from his lips to trail down his cheeks and chin in stark contrast to his ghostly white complexion. He turns his eyes to Jason, too weak to turn his head. His voice is barely above a whisper and Jason has to lean in close to catch what he says;

“Tell everyone I died fighting a hundred ninjas by myself.”

Jason chokes out a humorless laugh. “Fuck you, you’re not dying,” he says, but they both know he’s full of shit. He can see the rise and fall of Tim’s chest stutter. “C’mon, hang on just a little bit longer. Batman’ll be here soon, okay?”

He pulls Tim partially onto his lap, keeping futile pressure on the wound even as Tim stops breathing.

“You’re gonna be okay.”

Tim gets elected prom king because a bunch of kids at school wanted to elect someone other than Popular Girl’s Boyfriend and thought it would be hilarious. Which it was. He fell asleep during his dance with the prom queen

"Don't touch my crown, it's vintage." he says and smacks anyone who comes close enough. also he brought his skateboard and definitely made everyone watch him do a wheelie off the stage after he was voted King and dabbed when he landed.

Absolutely absurd AU: Tim (semi)retires and becomes a school counselor. He becomes these kids’ guardian angel? Can’t afford treatment? Wayne scholarship. Somebody abusing you? They show up on their best behavior with a limp the next day. Best of all, he can figure out which kids are vigilantes and help because he’s Been There. He’s not (necessarily) going to report you, he’s going to be what he needed as a kid. Picture Jawbone from Fantasy High but instead of drug stories it’s Batman stories.

Tim Drake thing I have done: I went to the neurologist about my migraines. He told me to get a lot of regular sleep and avoid stress. I said “I’m a college student so. Probably not gonna be able to do that.” Tim just laughing hysterically when someone suggests that to him. Tim def gets rebound headaches because of all the painkillers he’s taking because he needs to work NOW.

"Knock knock." Tim pops into Damian's room, two puzzle boxes in his hands. If there ever was a testament to the level of sheer boredom that Tim was suffering from, this was it. "Wanna see who can finish a five thousand piece puzzle first?" He shakes the boxes and their contents imploringly.

"I'd win," Damian says, not looking up from his sketchbook, brows furrowed in concentration as he blends and shades.

"Sure," Tim snorts, walking further into the room and towards Damian's bed, falling onto it with a long, drawn out sigh. "As long as it gives me something to do."

Damian hums. "You could always read."

"I've read every book in this house."

"Have you? Interesting how your head's still empty, in that case."

"'Interesting how your head's still empty'," Tim copies in a nasally tone, "Interesting how you're a little bitch."

Damian rolls his eyes, setting down his pencil and closing his sketchbook after slipping in a bookmark. Standing from his desk, he walks to pick up one of the puzzle boxes from where Tim tossed them on the bed. Looking at the options, he can't help but let out a short laugh. "Really?" He asks Tim, holding up one of the puzzles - it's Green Lantern, striking a heroic pose, arm extended as a beam of light shoots from the ring on his finger. Admittedly, it looks kind of cool.

"It glows in the dark, too," Tim says, sitting up with an all too pleased grin. "Bruce hates it!" He picks up the second puzzle, this one a depiction of Aquaman atop of a brilliant white seahorse, the gold scales of his armor glinting in the sunlight reflecting off the waves. "They both glow. Once we put it together, I bought some frames so we can hang them in the Batcave."
