Instead, Tobirama said, “After seeing Aneue’s hair become ruined by the most disgusting things and now having washed yours countless times, any desire I might’ve had toward long hair has now been thoroughly diminished. Now, head up.”

Raising her eyebrow, Tobirama's attention focused fully onto Madara's gaze. It was still a little stunning, Madara realized, to meet Tobirama's eyes without seeing any hint of trepidation or wariness. Tobirama’s expression was serene, her shoulders relaxed, her posture open in a way Madara had not seen outside of the rare, private moments Tobirama and Hashirama had alone. FINALLY got to sit down and make some actual progress in between what feels like 3-5 very small chore that actually takes like a half hour each and then i weep, wholly distraught, that i've been neglecting my writing docs but so it goes!!

anyways, here are some snippets from my new chapter of my time-travel transmigration tav/astarion fic for bg3 (apologies in advance at tavina who has been cursed to see the name Everywhere since the game has come out lmao) :

It's not like he goes out of his way to purposefully ask after her, but he can't help but notice signs of her presence every so often. A book or two, removed from a library shelf and stacked atop each other next to an armchair. Hay targets in the training grounds studded with arrows, each and every one lodged deep in vital points with deadly precision---wrist--knee---throat. Sometimes the signs were even subtler. An impression of warmth, a certain scent in a room he had just stepped into---a perfume lingering where someone else had once stood. Rosehips and calendula, bright notes with a faint sweetness---a whisper of greenery after rain. "Oh! You wish to know what Miss Aeliana's habits are, my lord?" Portia says, one afternoon, as she's carrying a tray with an empty teapot down the stairs. She tips her head to the side, as if judging how much she should truly share with Astarion.

Tagged by @swankitty to share a few paragraphs of a wip! <3 I've been dealing (or not dealing? idk? dealing, mostly, probably) with some shit lately, which has done a massive number on my writing time/capacity/speed/confidence/ugh. Things are just... going at a snail's pace, I guess.

I have actually been finally making some slow progress on my next Constellations chapter this weekend, though, which made the timing of being tagged very nice. :D

He looks tired — overextended — but he offers Gao Yingjie an earbud, and his mouth crooks up at whatever embarrassing thing Gao Yingjie’s face clearly does in response. Perhaps Gao Yingjie is also a little tired. ‘I’m glad you think so?’ Gao Yingjie manages. The bus rumbles into motion, and he lets himself rest a little heavier in his seat. Lets himself really notice the way Liu Xiaobie relaxes in against him the moment their shared music kicks in. ‘They, uh. They always mean really well? But they can be a bit… enthusiastic. Sometimes.’ Liu Xiaobie huffs out a hah, warm and low and probably just to show that he’s still listening. He lets his hands drop to his lap. Lets his knee shift against Gao Yingjie’s with the bus’s every turn and bump and corner. Lets his thumb rub the side of his phone: up. down. up again. Gao Yingjie looks away, away — past Liu Xiaobie and through the smudge-blurred window — but it doesn’t stop him thinking about skin, about thumbs, about knuckles. About the way Liu Xiaobie’s hands had frozen when Gao Yingjie’s mother had asked whether there was a girl Liu Xiaobie had his eye on. The way Liu Xiaobie’s neck had gone red — actually red — when she’d broadened the parameters of her query.

Yatori childhood friends to lovers, human AU, it’s got it all. Try to read this without feeling like someone’s chopping onions in your direct vicinity, I dare you.

Summary: Nothing lasts forever. Yukine-centric. Yato/Hiyori. Warnings for character death. No spoilers.

A Noragami classic, and for good reason. Very gritty, wonderfully written, not for the faint of heart. Will make your face feel like you rubbed it against sandpaper (I wasn’t kidding about the grittiness).

Gorgeous Yatori fic exploring what would happen if Yato cut Hiyori’s ties, then reunited with her once more. Has a fantastic ending.

Midnight Ricochet by @calamitouscyan

Summary: To kill a part of oneself was meant to produce a ricochet; a dangerous deflection of a projectile, that may cause collateral damage to one's surroundings--including the very person who fired the shot. He had miscalculated that part, and yet... he wasn't unhappy with the results. A project for the Noragami Big Bang 2018, inspired by Goya no Machiawase.

Yato character study written by the biggest Yato expert around. Very poetic, abstract, and all around amazing.

The Noragami pirate AU we didn’t know we needed but now that it’s here we can’t live without it. Fast-paced, wonderful storytelling, all the best trio moments. Just, wow. Left me with goosebumps more than a few times.

One of my top two all-time favorite fics in the fandom. Holy moly does it get EVERYTHING right. Remember how I said Jo is a wonderful storyteller? yeah. Plenty of Yatori, heartwarming trio moments, a fascinating plot, and oh BOY does she know how to bust out the angst. Excellent tie-ins to canon as well. Read it. Then read it again. And again. Be sure to leave comments.

in which Iki Hiyori and the Yatogami encounter each other hundreds of years ago rather than yesterday; in which he is known only as the magatsukami; in which she cannot seem to shake the certainty that she was always meant to meet him.

Last but certainly not least, my favorite Noragami fic of all time. Historical Yatori AU, incredible writing, character development, a very chilling and creepy original villain, checks all of my boxes for things I want to read in a fic. I would (and will) recommend this a hundred times. Leave comments. Let Scarf know she is loved.

There are many omens said to herald a great ruler - Strange sights in the sky, fantastical swords or shining lights, Omens and portends that prophecy their approach. It is rare that the omens themselves choose their ruler.

The Qilin of legend are good omens. Upon their appearance a great sage or grand ruler is sure to appear. The Qilin heralds peace and they foretells prosperity but their favor is not bestowed lightly. They pick their masters carefully because  there is nothing that can sicken a country so fast as the wrong ruler.

They are Daryun and Narsus for now - they have had other names before and they will have other names again, just like . The mantle of a name is an easily shed thing when you move through the mortal world like a leaf in the current passing the pebbles of a river. In this age they watch the empire fester with corruption in the priesthood and the nobility, slavery, treachery and light is a little prince - he’s barely even a candle’s flame. But he could be a beacon.

A tower of flame. A Golden King. A sun for a kingdom now so frequently in shade.

Daryun and Narsus set their tests and Prince Arslan meets every one of them. It is Narsus this time around that needs more convincing but in the end he is convinced. Daryun and Narsus take on the roles that this little prince needs, be it protector, teacher, father or sacrifice. They do as they always have done and become the wings to raise their king.

In time the world turns. The world changes and they do too. They are no longer Daryun and Narsus nor warriors and nobles but they are still together. Two leaves on a river. Perhaps the world no longer needs kings. But the world needs leaders.

There are many omens said to herald the coming of a great ruler. The Qilin are good omens.
