Say what you want about the Taylor & Ed friendship but Ed coming out as a surprise guest on the 1989 tour so they could sing Tenerife Sea—the very sappy and emotional love song he wrote about her—together, even though they’d never dated and the song and Ed’s feelings went completely unrequited, is deeply deeply funny and they are both very iconic for it.

Not to sound incredibly 2013 Katie right now but I really do think Ed & Taylor are creative soulmates (and before anyone comes at me I do NOT mean romantically). I just think they process things very similarly, obviously through music but beyond that, too. And they have similar senses of humor and ways of looking at life and their careers and fame. And it’s so special that they came into each others lives and became good friends. You can tell that they care about each other and respect each other so damn much, and they just want to see the other on top. I don’t think we’ve seen their last collaboration and not to sound totally insane but I could even see them doing a larger collab project/album together when they’re both much older. I love them.
