Day Seven of Covid Quarantine

Can't really sleep for some reason, not sure why. It may have to do with all the meds and vitamins I'm on now, but oh well. At least they're working- I'm slowly getting better.

My cat is still very clingy and makes sure to yell at me if I'm out of bed too long. It's like she knows when I'm about to overdo it. She's always right where I am all the time now, even when I'm sleeping. I don't think she eats hardly because her food is in another room, so I'm moving her food to the bedroom.

All in all, this sucks and I hate laying here doing nothing. But I have my appetite back for good and can walk around a bit more than Monday.

Me: Both of you have eaten too much already today.

Evelyn: Fine. I shall wake you up at 3am by walking on your chest. Perhaps I shall fight with brother late at night.

Finn: Will climb on tables and knock off things. Will eat pet fish. Going to rip posters on walls. Bad mother.

Evelyn: Mother has no heart. She is a shell of a person. Soulless.

This is one of the very rare times that they're getting along (ie Evelyn isn't hissing and Finn isn't chasing her) and it's when they're both asleep. 🙄❤

On an unrelated and slightly comical note: I never realized how lucky I was with Evelyn. She never purposely knocks things down, she usually only gets the zoomies when I'm awake, and she is very polite with her litter pan. Leaves my betta alone and only really plays with her cat toys.

Finn on the other hand? Swats things off of tables on purpose. Always has the zoomies and wants to play - even late at night and early in the morning. Does not know how to properly use his litter. Also tries to eat Yukio the fish (poor thing). Even fell off the cat tower and climbed back up it like nothing happened.

But do I love them both? Absolutely. I simply have a sweet girl and a stinky boy.

So Evelyn still isn't very adjusted yet. He can do his own thing, but I caught her putting herself between me and Finn several times last night and growling when I was trying to sleep. I'm reassuring her and trying to show her that he's ok, but it's definitely going to take time.

So socializing cats is actually a lot of work. Particularly if your first cat has trauma and your second is still a kitten and wants to play - and also has trauma that you don't know the extent of yet.
