Kinsley wasn’t really a picky eater, she was more of a difficult eater. When it came time for lunch or dinner, she would show signs that she was hungry, but when it came down to actually feeding her, it was a mission of it’s own.

“Nnn” The dark haired child clamped her lips shut and moved her mouth away from the green goo that her father was trying to feed her. After one bite of the green stuff and she was done, no more for her.

“Come on you.” Jamie continued to follow the spoon with her head movements. “I know you’re hungry. It’s green beans tonight. You liked green beans last time you ate them.”

“Mmnn.” She furrowed her brow like a child her age would do. She wasn’t going to eat any more.

“What? Does it not taste good? Do you want something else?” Jamie took a little bit of the baby food on his pinkie finger and tasted it for himself. He scrunched his nose, much like his baby girl did moments earlier. “Yeah you're right it is gross. I wouldn’t voluntarily eat it either.” 

“She not eating again?” Trevor emerged from his room for the first time that day, most likely looking for food himself.

“Took one bit and refused everything else I’ve given her.” 

 “You try the whole airplane or wheels on the bus thing?”

“Yes. I’ve tried everything I know, Z. How does Y/N get her to eat? She can’t be this difficult for her.” Jamie wondered aloud how the Y/N, the nanny, did it. She must have been a magician or something.

“Through drastic measures. I’ve only seen her do this one time.” Trevor went to the cupboard to retrieve that bag of mini Kit Kats. Opening the bag he held one out for the baby duck who opened her mouth to receive it, only Trevor swooped in and placed the mushed up green beans into her mouth instead of the sweet treat.

“No shit.”

“Mmmnnnn.” Kinsley glared at glared at her uncle while eating the mush. She tried to spit it back out, but Trevor scooped it off her chin and back into her mouth.

“You’ll thank us one day Kins.” Trevor laughed lightly handed to spoon and the chocolatey treat back to Jamie so he could finish tricking his child into eating the rest of her dinner.

Can I give him a high five before we go?" Edmund asked his glasses held on with little straps, his hand already stretched out pressing against the swell of her stomach for several seconds before he whispered. "High five."

No because I’m actually crying. Little Neddy is the sweetest and I love how excited he always is when his Amma is pregnant and he gets a new little uncle Greg or auntie Eddie

Oh this little Neddy would be such a sweet little bean as well.

Imagine him hanging out with his Uncle Greggy. Gregory walking around with his adorable Nephew at 18 because as it turns out: Ladies love cute babies and his nephew is a fucking cutie.

Neddy perched up on his Uncle's shoulders, with his little elbows resting on the top of Gregory's head, chin resting on his hands.

"Ready, buddy?" Gregory asks, patting his leg.

"Yup!"

"She's just up here, and what are you going to say?"

Edmund grins, "I'm going to ask her if she wants to get Ice cream with us."

"Excellent! Yes, Buddy!" Gregory puts his hand up for a high five.

"Can I get three scoops?"

Gregory sighs, "How about I get you two scoops and we stop at the cinema and get popcorn before I drop you off to Papa and Amma?"

"Deal." Neddy grins, sticking his little hand out to shake, Gregory shaking his head at his nephew, three years old and already a master manipulator.

And suddenly his heart stops, because there she is, sitting on the grass ahead of them in the middle of a picnic blanket, her straight, dark hair shining in the sunlight her brow furrowed as she jots something down in a notebook her study materials set out meticulously in front of her just the way they always were. Lucy Abernathy. The love of his fucking life.

"Showtime, Neddy Teddy, big smiles." Gregory cleared his throat. "Fit check, we look cute right? Cool?"

"Han Solo Cool."

"I have taught you so damn well! Okay, here goes." Gregory cleared his throat, raising his voice a little. "Hey, Lucy!"

She turned slowly towards him, her hair blowing lightly in the breeze, a distracted sort of smile on her face as she took him in, her eyes shining up at him. "Gregory, hey." Her smile grew as she waved up at Edmund, who was grinning down at her, waving, one of his elbows resting on Gregory's head still. "Who's your mini me?"

Gregory grinned, "This is my oldest brother's son, Edmund."

"My Papa's Anthony!" Edmund said proudly. "And my Amma's name is Katieeeeee Kat."

Lucy bit back a smile. "Well it's nice to meet you, Edmund. I'm Lucy, Your Uncle Gregory and I go to uni together."

Edmund nodded, his little legs dangling feet banging against Gregory's chest, sending his spiderman shoes flashing "Uncle Greggy told me."

Gregory winced, trying to salvage the situation with a shrug. "He's my best buddy."

"I'm Neddy!" Edmund chirped, "Edmund was my Papa's Papa and i have his name but everyone calls me Neddy. Neddy Apollo Bridgerton."

"Apollo." Lucy said a little bemusedly, still smiling kindly up at him. "That's such a special name Neddy."

Gregory shrugged again as Edmund grinned proudly, nodding. "My brother thought it sounded cool, and his wife, Kate: Literally the coolest woman I've ever met just let him have it because he wanted it so badly."

Lucy chuckled. "They sound like a cute couple."

"They're pretty great." Gregory agreed as his eyes caught with Lucy's something hanging in the air between them.

"My Amma's having a baby!" Neddy said proudly, startling Lucy.

"Oh my gosh Neddy!" Lucy gasped. "That's so special, you must be so excited!"

"Uhuh! I'm gonna be a big brother! And then me, and the new baby can have Uncle Greggy day together!" Neddy said excitedly, getting a little carried away. "He takes me to see movies, and one time, he came with me and Papa and Amma and Auntie Eddie and Uncle Goose and Auntie Hy to Disneyland with my Gramma Mary when it was my birthday, and he bought me a brand new Donald."

Fucking yes, Neddy, buddy, you are nailing it!

Lucy's smile was growing, "No way! Neddy that's amazing! How many did you turn?"

"Three!"

"Well, your Uncle Greggy's pretty cool isn't he?"

"He's the best. He's my favourite of all my uncles."

Gregory made a note to niggle his brothers about that later.

"And what are you handsome boys doing today?"

Gregory's heart stopped, his mind reeling at the word handsome

"We're getting ice cream!" Edmund crowed. "You wanna come? Uncle Greggy wouldn't mind!"

Gregory's heart was pounding in his chest as her eyes turned back to him, catching again a small smile on her face.

"I don't... Know I'm supposed to be studying."

Gregory scoffed, "As if you don't already know it all! Come on Lucy, come het ice cream with us."

"Yeah Lucy! Come get ice cream with us!" Neddy chimed in.

Lucy bit her lip considering carefully before she smiled softly. "Yeah, okay."

Gregory screamed internally, waiting for Lucy to turn her back before he gave his Nephew a high five, his heart pounding as he snatched Lucy's bag up. "I'll carry your things!"

And it kept being the best day of his life until he dropped Edmund home, an enormous bucket of popcorn from the cinema under his arm and his nephew chirped. "Amma! Uncle Greggy got me to trick a girl into being his girlfriend!"

And his sister in law spun towards him with with her eyes wide. "Uncle Greggy did what?"

Do you have a favorite blanket? Describe it. It was a gift when I graduated high school. It's thick and it was super soft when I first got it more than a decade ago. It's got the mascot on it in blue and white. Go vikings lol

it wasn't all that odd for children to enjoy sweets , right ? even daisuke's own mother had occasionally lectured him over things like balancing out his nutrition and maintaining a proper diet --- and yet , macarons , cream-puffs , madeleines and more , these soft tea-time sweets imported from european coutries had readily made themselves at home about azumano's shops and cafes in a way that was hard to ever resist .

in his imagination , someone like naraku-san would probably have been privy to give him something like a small , bite-sized pack of konpeito or even more traditional senbei --- it's a surprise then that an entire shop's stock's worth of treats practically fall into his grasp . ' ... bwuh ? '

at first , the boy's eyes merely bulge at its over-indulgent size . had naraku robbed santa claus or stolen a tucked away hoard by the tooth fairy or something ? w-well , everything looked fine and perfectly untouched , so if naraku didn't feel like sharing and telling a story about its acquisition , then daisuke wouldn't ask ! ( any thief knew better ... ! )

besides , he really can't help the faint sense of salivation that strikes him too . i-in any case , children were supposed to obey adults , right ? so when naraku says to eat , he wouldn't have been doing anything wrong by eating ! ( ... at least just a little bit . ) maybe there was something really good in here , like those mini-cakes that were always sold out ...

although he's already curiously digging through the other's gift to him , in the end , daisuke seems to be struck by a certain epiphany . the realization leads him to smile and laugh a little up at the other all of the sudden . last december my friend Kayoko came to visit and now, six months later, husband prime and i have finally got round to trying the collection of Japanese Kit-Kats she brought us. Here are our findings. 

First, the subjects: 

the flavours aren’t clear on all of them, but with the aid of google translate we have, starting at the top left and going across

top row: strawberry, milk tea, coffee 

middle row: orange, standard kit kat, cheesecake 

bottom row: pistachio, whole wheat, matcha (green) and dark chocolate (”adult sweetness” is the translation of the label, lol) 

tastings below the cut

the first one we tried was milk tea. Japanese milk tea is black tea brewed in milk and sweetened with plenty of sugar. Slightly reminiscent of builder’s tea in the UK in that it’s strong and sweet, but milk tea is creamier. 

the milk tea kit kat was very sweet to start, but the tea flavour was definitely noticeable at the end and lent a richness and depth to the white chocolate (which i generally don’t care for). Very good. 9/10 would eat again. 

kit kat two was pistachio.

now, i love pistachio in all its forms so i was looking forward to this one. Sadly, the pistachio flavour was very mild, almost undetectable. Still very tasty but a slight disappointment. 6/10

next is strawberry

another white (or rather pink) chocolate version. This one was very aromatic with a strong strawberry punch. Definitely artificial strawberry but a light and fresh one, not at all cloying. Personally i love fruit flavours in candy and so i really enjoyed this. 8/10

cheesecake is next

not super strong in the cheese flavour, but light and pleasant. It would be good paired with the strawberry actually. 5/10

next, orange

if you’ve ever had a Terry’s Chocolate Orange the flavour of this kit kat will be familiar to you. They’re almost exactly the same. So, delicious. Nice to have a bit of light crunch with the Terry’s flavour actually. 7/10

next, coffee

we weren’t certain at first if this was coffee flavour or just “coffee break” and it was a pretty strong chocolate flavour to start but with a definite hint of coffee at the end. Very nice, and probably would be good with a cup of coffee. 7/10

next is what google translate concluded was whole wheat

this one was fantastic. Very light and crunchy but with texture to the crunch, not too sweet with a caramelly, biscuity flavour in the chocolate. i thought it was a bit like a white chocolate digestive might be, husband prime likened it to a custard cream. Either way, fab. 10/10 i am going to be craving this one. 

next, dark chocolate

or “adult sweetness” according to the translation app. Saucy 😏. Dark chocolate isn’t my favourite but this was very good. Had a nice bitter edge without being overwhelming and also very rich. Good stuff. 8/10

standard kit kat

it’s a classic for a reason, and the japanese version has richer chocolate than you get in either the UK or US, with a lot of depth of flavour. Hard to go wrong. 7/10

last and definitely least, matcha

look, i know matcha has its adherents but you’re all wrong and have terrible taste. i tried proper matcha prepared by trained experts when i lived in japan and it was good, if a bit grassy for me personally. Very good when paired with some of their traditional sweets (sweet bean paste my beloved) but when it comes to flavouring other things? Ugh. No. Gross. Why do you want your ice cream to taste like lawn clippings? 

this kit kat did not taste like lawn clippings. It tasted, in husband prime’s words, like fish food (DON’T ASK ME HOW I KNOW THIS he made sure to add). Anyway, it was nasty. If you like matcha you might like it, idk, who can say what horrors your palate will tolerate. But for me it was only redeemed by the sweet crunch and the fact that the matcha flavour only came out at the end. 1/10.

the scores out of 10 obviously are based on my personal taste though i tried to be objective, hence the high rating of the dark chocolate. The following is my preference ranking, from first to worst

1. whole wheat

2. milk tea

3. strawberry

4. pistachio 

5. orange 

6. coffee

7. dark

8. standard 

9. cheesecake

Yet another day away from my girls. And yet still not close to the day I would see them again. Sadly, I wasn't lucky enough to have a casual schedule for the week and I wasn't spared the show today, Saturday, this time. This meant that I had to wait until Tuesday until I could hold Bluebell and our baby girl in my arms.

Katja sending me photos and videos of herself and Hazel every day made it a little easier. But still, being away from them was harder than I ever thought possible. What also helped were the numerous phone calls we had. Or at least they did when Bluebell was available.

Today, however, she hadn't returned any of my calls all day, and it was starting to make me a little anxious. Maybe something had happened or maybe Hazel wasn't feeling well. My head was pounding with the many possible scenarios when finally, finally my phone rang.

"Bluebell finally! Where have you been all day?" I asked in relief.

"Hi D! Oh I'm so sorry. I've been busy." she said.

"What was so important?" i wanted to know.

"What? I'm sorry... I'm having such a hard time understanding you.... Are you having bad reception? Can you maybe go outside?" she replied to my astonishment, because I understood every word she said.

Nevertheless, I did as she said and walked with quick steps towards the back exit of the arena.

"Do you understand me better now?" I asked as I stepped into the parking lot.

"I understand you perfectly. But I can see you even better." she said with a laugh.

"What?" I wanted to know.

"Turn around." replied Kat.

I turned around like she wanted me to and almost dropped the phone in surprise and joy. A huge smile spread across my face as I spotted my family a few yards away from me.

I ran up to Bluebell and wrapped my arms tightly around her. Then I lifted her off her feet and spun her around. Kat let out a hearty laugh as she clung to me while burying her face in the crook of my neck.

When I put her back on her feet I did the same to inhale her familiar scent. A scent that I would forever associate with home. Then I pulled away so I could give her a much needed kiss.

"Bluebell what are you doing here?" I asked as I held her in my arms for a moment and then bent down to the stroller to see my little princess.

Much to my displeasure, our Hazelnut was sleeping right now and didn't greet me with that sweet, toothless smile. But I knew I would get it eventually. After all, she was a baby and needed her sleep. No matter how impatient her daddy was to hear her giggle.

"We wanted to surprise you! I know how much you missed us and we felt the same way. I needed a couple of days to prepare, but it all worked out well. I figured it would also be a good trial run for later. But let me tell you, it wasn't so easy not to let myself spill the beans. Did the surprise work?" she explained to me as she wrapped her arms around my middle from the side and looked up at me with her beautiful eyes.

"Is that even a question? Of course! I can't tell you how happy I am at this moment." I replied as I placed my hand on her cheek.

My thumb stroked her plump lower lip before I leaned in to steal another kiss.

"I'm happy too. Let's go inside so Hazel can get out of the sun." said Bluebell after a few minutes of just standing there soaking up the closeness.

"Good idea. I think the girls will be happy to see you." I replied as I started pushing Hazel in her stroller and rested my other hand on Kat's hip.

"Yeah, well... If they even talk to me anymore." she muttered.

"I'm sure they missed you. And you have the most adorable excuse for your break." I said as I squeezed her hip tenderly.

RP EXPERIENCE/HOW LONG (MONTHS / YEARS?): i jumped into the tumblr scene around 2013 so it's been about ... wow, 9 years! before this, i used to run two forums and rp'ed on a chat site so, a good solid amount of time.

BEST EXPERIENCE: honestly, the first one that comes to mind is the first full circle story i did with one of my very first partners here (@sxmnus). the story of ayana and aomine touch my heart in so many ways and having been able to befriend my sweet cookie (yesss that's what i love calling her) even well afterwards is just so special. same thing with kitty kat (@vacuitas) and the stories we've made through the years especially satine and nolan. and the stories with angie (@cxrsedsouls) just live rent free in my head! i mean, i can honestly just gush about the amazing people i've met here like kris (@arcxnumvitae), niko (@strawberryxdreams), and blue (@bottleofbabes). y'all are the real mvps and why this has been the best experience

RP PET PEEVES/DEALBREAKERS: hmmm ... i guess it would have to be forcing things on me? it doesn't happen often thankfully, so i had to give this some extra thought but i'd say that is the biggest pet peeve. i mean, i'm all down for doing things but i'm a 'let's see how things go first' type of rp'er. we can chat about it and give it a shot but if it doesn't mesh, then yeah, it doesn't mesh. and i guess the last one is not really caring about my muses (but i mean who wouldn't be upset about that happening to them???) and claims about one's muse without bothering to ask??? not really the same as an assumption but more like statements about the muse, as if its a fact without bothering to learn???

FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT: i am an absolute sucker for all three! the trifecta are just **chefs kiss**

PLOTS OR MEMES: both! i love plotting but know that sometimes it can be hard to get the ball rolling so in comes the memes! plus right now with the move coming up, memes help. oh and it does make things pretty entertaining to see the in-between pieces with the mix!

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES:  it depends on what's happening. i prefer to match quality vs quantity. not to mention the amount of muse i'm feeling but yep, it varies. love them both!

BEST TIME TO WRITE: so the last year or so, i found that morning is the best time for me. mainly because that's the time i have to myself before i head out to run errands and do whatever else is on my list. sometimes i might hop on at night if i can but i do make notes on my phone and ipad so i don't forget what caused inspiration.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): a couple of them! i mean, i feel like we all put a little piece of ourselves in each but yes, i am. some more than others (but you'll find out as we go along!)
