Nightfall always meant the same thing, crowds would soon come rushing in. Those that waited patiently in line were anxious to speak with their most favorite dancer or pretty face. For Sayuri, the anticipation always caused each heartbeat to speed up. Those from up top were starting to gather, the sounds of Wall Market coming alive caused the dancer to pause as she watched each neon light flicker. Through the crowds starting to bustle, she was able to make out a familiar figure. Her light eyes beaming as she perked.
“I think I’ve seen you before!” her voice calls out, light && warm, friendly in a place that lacks such notions. Her curiosity was piqued, the stance she wore casual, “Are you trying to get in? Still have a few more minutes” Once the curtain pulled back, it was time for everyone to forget the monotonous notion of their everyday life, some came for a drink others prefer the company.
“It’s rare to see someone of your caliber here, looking for something? I’m sure you’ll find it”

𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐒 𝐀 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐇 𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐄𝐒, it was tiring to find herself in unnecessary conflict. Already she was late, practice began an hour ago! Slipping through the ruins was a dangerous trek in itself. Now she would have to contend with the fury of the dancers, Sayuri’s headache at the mere thought. Between pinched fingers she held the bridge of her nose, “Damn, I forgot there’s a lot of nasty creatures here” her movements are agile, swift, her silhouette that contorts with each move is effortless. Blades that are thrown only to be retrieved, echoes of her footsteps that can be heard within the bare tunnel as she moves swiftly. Lights, that is what she needed to see along with the gating to Wall Market.
Arms that would be outstretched to cross over makeshift bridges, rushing water that led to nowhere, her heart beating wildly as she could only think of hitting solid ground. All of this merely to offer aid at the orphanage, it was too dangerous to cross! So many would say, but she insisted it was for a good cause. Someone else is here, she can hear the distinct sound of a blade clashing - it leaves her to pause. Should she help? Bright eyes that flicker in the darkness appear marked with hesitation. “Oh, behind you!” her voice calls out but there is no time to waste. without thinking the chakram leaves her grasp wedging itself between what appears to be a mass of goo, Sayuri’s nose crinkles as she then snickers.
“Those are the worst, you can get stuck in them - what are you doing here?” then it must be surprising to see a figure slinking back to where all is decadent && portrayed as nothing but entertainment for the masses. Then she moves back, the dim lighting that swings back && forth gives her a different view. Lips pursing together as her head tilts, eyes like the cosmos, that strikingly distinct uniform. “Huh, a SOLDIER couldn’t handle something that gross?” Her voice is coy, distinctively playful as she motions to follow her. Her hand beckons for him to follow, she knows each exit with ease never once hesitating to move behind the debris that leads forward.
Questions that curl upon the tip of her tongue, but she does not utter a single one. For all she knows, he could be searching for a vice just like so many who sought to escape their reality. It was strange to have a companion to share the path with, but she did not seem to mind, the friendly demeanor that radiated around her never failing. Every beast that would hop forward was met with defeat, even the occasional chime of, “Give me a lift, I’ll attack from above” chakrams that would escape her grasp, the movement of her slender silhouette in mid dance, beautiful but deadly.
Neon lights, they continued to shine as brilliantly as ever as the softness of her smile diminished, now it was time to return where she belongs. The sunset that sprawled across the sky as her hand would reach up, rubbing away the dirt && scuffs from the previous moments. “Thanks for helping me out, if you’re staying for a while come by the Honey Bee Inn - drinks are on me” a wink was given as the dancer leaned upwards, upon her tiptoes she stands. Her vivid eyes locked with his until a soft kiss was placed upon his lips, chaste && quick - sugary with its sweetness. The flutter of her pale dress && her hand raising up as she turned before leaving.
“See you later! Remember to think fast if you plan to cross again”
